I was a weapons loader on these very jets (F-111F's from RAF Lakenheath, UK) in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Was an amazing experience. My crew and I loaded a lot of these very same a/c. 883 bombs in 45 days. The pavetac system still looks good. Too bad all the Aardvarks are all gone, now. Thanks for that upload, Jag! Good times!
I was stationed at UH with my aardvark but my husband was stationed at LH. He had a desk job. Occasional weekends and weather diversions were the only time we saw each other.
from wikipedia: The F-111C and F-111F carried the Pave Tack pod on a rotating carriage in its internal weapons bay, retracting it when not in use to reduce drag and protect the sensors from damage. Pave Tack is a large installation, with the pod alone weighing some 629 kg (1,385 lb) and measuring 4,220 mm (166 inches) in length.
My late father was a Pilot with the US Navy and he was beyond upset when I chose the US Air Force. I knew how to fly long before I could drive a car. I loved flying, it's like nothing else on earth. So much easier then a car. But, I could only tread water for so long, so flying was better.?

Beautiful great footage, wish i could've been in gulf war
No you don’t. Gulf War Syndrome is isolated to the gulf war so it was a conflict with extra detrimental health effects.
