whenever I see an Asparagales Fern nowadays I have to think about a situation I had this year... My sister lives in Barcelona and I visited her in September... She was staying in a shared house with a backyard and a huge rubber tree growing there (that on it's own was beautiful). No one in the house cared for the plants so ofc me during the first night was already repotting, planting and cutting up their heartleaf Philo etc. During my stay I noticed an Asparagales Fern growing as a weed in one of the bushes. Promptly I took the scissors and cut myselfs wetsticks. A housemate came into the backyard while I did so and I can just imagine how it looked like: a random person randomly cutting weed into small pieces just to fly it back to Germany. It took me less than 3 days to esteblish myself as the plant-crazy sister 😂 ... another funny thing: I took these wetsticks with me in a very small bottle of water and during security check the security guy became suspicious of the plant- contents in my water. He said either I throw them away or proof that they are not toxic by drinking it. So I took a sip of the probigation water. The determination was real 🥲
I too really love your videos, just calm and normal behaviour, and all about plants. I love the look of the 2 tall shelves and shorter shelves in the middle on the opening screen. OMG, just came back to finish and 27:14 wow! That frydek is to die for!!! 38:30 I 'knew' you were going to say the mealy's were on that compacta - ofc they are! I will never have one.
Something that I think you would really enjoy-Setting up a tank or large glass bowl and grow some aquatic plants.Fully under water.I have 7 large aquariums. Some are like underwater forests, nature scapes.Have snails that help keep algae back. Also fish, however the plants alone are beautiful.I grow a large variety of houseplants out of the back of the tanks. The fish swim between the roots.Almost any houseplant can grow this way-fish waste feeds the plants.I water all my plants from my tank water.
Hi fern, your plants are beautiful. I think the plants that are yellowing on your shelf might be getting too much light. It's touch and go with the barrina lights. Some love it and some burn once they grow. The hoyas that have spots might be a watering issue. Aglaonemas seem to like to be tight in their pots. All the ones I upgraded have rotted 😢 even in bright light. Take care. 😊

Your partner has good taste in plants 👌🏽 the Phil. Sharoniae is a stunner. Even the plants you say aren’t doing as well are still looking really beautiful. I especially love that begonia thurstonii and the gray feather. You have a fantastic eye for decorating!
I got the Akerbar cabinet from ikea also and what solved my humidity problem was adding a pinguicula in a saucer. Also helps with any unwanted visitors. Love your videos 💚
Fern your collection is seriously stunning and I'm low-key (high- key?) super jealous/ inspired by it, and you! As much as you may feel like an under-waterer, or maybe sometimes like you're "neglectful" of things--- i can only hope and dream of becoming as skilled a plant parent as you are 💚🌿
I absolutely love your vids fern I’m currently a sophomore in college and I love putting your vids on while I’m working they’re so chill. I’m also starting a plant collection myself I think I’m up to 80 plants in my collection. I’m currently in midterms and your vids are so nice to relax to and to have on when I’m studying
I bought some clear silica type sealer stuff for my Akerbar. I'm hoping it'll work. I tried drilling holes and screwing the base to the body. That was a disaster. I just need it to stay in one piece when I pick it up…
This is just what the Dr ordered! Nice relaxing moment with Fern! ❤🎉 Edit: Those narrows take up space fast! Same with the Florida greens.. but I love them!
Awesome collection Fern! Yes it's so exciting when spring and summer are just around the corner so I'm excited for you. Enjoy the new growth and health of your plants 👏🏼🥰
That's so funny, my little Christmas cactus propagations also kept trying to bloom instead of make new leaves! The propagations weren't mature enough to get the bud to bloom though, so the buds kept falling off :( i had to start cutting the buds off and then it finally started to grow some leaves instead. I felt terrible cutting the buds off!
Hi, Fern! Love when you upload new videos, it's always a treat and takes my blues awaaaay! Your plants are looking amazing as always and you have quite the collection! By the way, just purchased a Varigated Strawberry Begonia because of you! So cute!✨️💕🍓
Fern, maybe check the wilbur graves for mites? they could be causing that damage and to your compacta too!! Loved seeing all your planties in the sunshine 😍
When your Moody outgrows the cabinet you should consider putting it under the Rousseau light in ambient conditions. My Moody LOVES my Rousseau light. And I grew mine as a baby in similar conditions….in milsbo under plant spectrum grow light. Can’t wait to see it size up for you! 🖤
Another video! I was backed up, and just binged them all this weekend including your vlog channel ones lol I'm so happy, starting it now on my lunch break! 💖
Hey lady! Another great planty video❤ I want to chop up my syngonium albo and can’t find the video you did. I only see the shorts. Is it possible to link it for me? Thanks again. Love the way your plants look throughout the house and your hair is beautiful!
Now I know what you do all day, everyday: care for plants. I have about 30. I have to spend too much time taking care of them, so I've given away a few, some died, I'm down to 30. Not interested in propagation. No space left. I love the Philodendron Ghost. I'll have to research it since it's on a few people don't list. I do have a bookcase here in my home office. It gets decent amount of light so I might look into the local nursery to see who has one. Come winter I have a Sansi light I can turn on. BUT......plants at the nursery tend to be $$$$ like everything else in life.
I'm definitely over the dark winter days and ready for spring to start! My plants seem to also slowly wake up and my oxalis has been growing some new leaves after loosing half of its leaves over the winter month. I even started snapdragon and Brompton stock ( not sure if thats the right translation haha) seed on my windowsill. I know I'm propably way to early, but I just couldn't wait haha
Your compacta is so cute! I hope you can get rid of the bugs. Dang. The Narrow and Tortum are 2 of my favorites from your collection. I hope you can find spots for them because they are so awesome. I found a narrow and some other similar style philodendrons at my local nursery and I hold back because they do get so big. But I just think they are gorgeous. Have a great week, Fern 💚✨🌿☀️
Maybe consider getting some black silicone to seal the gaps in your akerbar 🙂 I would also say that your bf deserves his own space without any of your plants or plant stuff 😄 I live with my partner of ten years and my plants do take up a lot of space in the common areas and storage areas, but I try to be very mindful of the fact that this is his house too and it can become overwhelming/annoying with all the plants. I keep my plants to certain areas of the house and he has his own room which is his man cave, no plants allowed. I also have a small office where I do my repotting and generally make a mess if I need to. It works for us and if he maxes out on plants, there are areas that are completely plant-free too

Hi Fern! Thanks for another inspiring video! I forgot to say the other day, please keep us updated on your new Hoya holliana(sp?)-I’ve had my eye on that one.
I'm very interested in seeing a carnivirous plant repot! I was getting pitchers on mine when I had it in stratum and leca (cuz I do semi-hydro), but then before I moved and it stopped looking good so I repotted it to just leca because i thougth maybe the stratum was too many nutrients?? idk...
Did you know you can use Neem oil as a fungicide? I just read that it’s better than copper fungicide for an active fungal infection. I just learned that it can even be used that way so I thought I’d share
your videos are definitely always fun 😊 I know it's winter and I know you've chopped a lot of your bigger plants but your collection is really great and so diverse 🤩💚

I’m sorry but, I cannot live without a daily dose of Fern’s videos. 💀 Like I’d be petrified without a good planty video.
