@@DiabloGoldSecrets I've been doing that with about 20 of them, I just didn't wanna fully switch to javs so they have an axe, bow, quiver and a stack of javelins I had a weird problem with giving javs to troops with the glaive as they would throw away the glaive after javelins and end up fighting with fists (the weapon handle is one handed / two handed / thrown)
You can abuse smithing up to lv300, then you got OP as f*** weapons. TaleWorlds should grant us armor smithing as well, there's a bunch of game mods out there and we as players could end up making a full functionality
@@gonsalomon making custom armor would be really nice yeah! my clan members all have legendary crafted glaives or axes and it's much better than anything you could buy
@@gonsalomon oh, might craft some falxes then, I like usinga bit slower weapons but for companions I tried to hit the balance of high enough damage to 1 hit while still having very fast swing speed, it's better for them in case they get isolated in a battle
@@toando2538 it's all in vanilla no cheats :) I am currently 69 years into the campaign, spent the first 40 strictly companion&family only, and now I'm experimenting with different armies using my clan members as elite troops I watched lots of videos on the best fighting perks, grinded smithing on most characters for attributes and a lot of them have 10 vig 10 ctr 10 end and athletics, riding, bow and polearm/two handed in the 300+, best fighters are at 200+ hp with all the perks anytime I get a chance I upgrade their gear (like getting a legendary helmet with 60 protection from battle) and they all have legendary crafted glaive or two handed axe with fast swing speed and damage that can 1 hit almost anything lmao I hope u bother reading this, thanks for your comment

I made sure to find my 2 brothers and myself wives early in the game and gave them 30+ chance of having kids perk, when I started getting kids and nephews I married the males as soon as possible again, it's now year 1145 and there's 68 of us (10 companions) I'm pretty sure we could be at over 100 by this point but there's a cap for it in short - it's possible, just takes a lot of (in-game) time, I didn't lie in the title, I put no cheats there because I assumed, people would think this was done with cheats
@@basic.gameplay It's basically the same thing but you're not forced to follow a main quest that is timed. You also don't get your op siblings which help you grow your family 2, 3x faster. Which we all know, family and companions are pretty op. At least imo. That being said, I'm not saying you nor anyone can't use them. They're in the game to use. I just prefer not too so the game is not as easily beaten. Cheers!

There are like those two banners which reduce ranged received damage and melee damage by 15 %. What happens if you give 7 companions those banners? Does it stack?
@@david7171 oh and in this video I messed up as I didn't have any normal troops in my army, so we weren't using the 30% boost, you need to have at least 1 normal troop in companion units to hold the banner

no mods what a joke. It's not difficult with companion soldiers. They are well equipped and completely OP in the number you have. If you didn't use mods or cheats as incorrectly stated, they would be limited to at least 10. So what are you trying to tell/show/prove to us with that?

Something crazy you can do is get all those companions max throwing so they can ignore shields and wipe out anyone before they can reach you

@@david7171 all of them could have banners, but only the captain's banner counts, stacking those boosts would literally make them invincible
@@david7171 oh and in this video I messed up as I didn't have any normal troops in my army, so we weren't using the 30% boost, you need to have at least 1 normal troop in companion units to hold the banner
