Would be interesting to see rough army builds at various points limits - get an idea of how big an army is, and what it would cost.
This would be great
So far my 2.5k iron warriors army is
1 aerial assault formation.
Command
Plasma upgrade
Missile upgrade
2 tac squads
Terminator upgrade
Assault marine upgrade
2 tac squads.
Dreadnoughts support unit
4 Dreadnoughts.
2 storm eagles
2 thunderhawks
Armoured company
2 kratos
4 sicaran
6 predators
6 predators
6 predators
4 xiphon interceptors
Reaver titan.
@@thehandoftheking3314 thanks, that's more than I expected, especially with the titan.
@Alf_Hairy-arse I'm planning to add another Demi company, basically the starter box marine half in rhinos to get upto 3k.
Ace video, love that you're covering Imperialis, still waiting on my boxed set, but I might get to work on some Thunderhawks and Stormeagles that I picked up a while ago.
Great vid, thinking about the risk of formations breaking is super interesting. As for legion soup im planning on starting with just the one legion, but painting different legions in future sounds like a fun way to expand a space marine army.
Yeh! Im going to finally do the Shattered Legions ive been planning on for years.
Glad you are doing content again. Would love to see a return to the legion breakdowns.
Excellent video!
these vids have been really bloody helpful
Im glad! Plenty more to come :)
I love these videos - really helpful for getting to know this new game.
I’d be very interested in your suggestions of what to buy, in order to get a good army together without spending more than is necessary.
Wondering on something that can work in Flames of War (also with brutal melee), you have the assault formation, and have a smaller one following it up to actually move into the position and try to hold it - which can be much more defensive in its outlook. the shattered assault formation can then either press forwards to maybe team up with another, or to act as a delaying/blocking force?
Definitely sounds like a feasible plan!
Very good info, legions r going to make a return as the old way is loser way
Really hoping to get a box soon. I was so sad at how awfully balanced HH 2.0 was, and how uninspiring the rules are. LI looks so much better in all regards.
Now I only need to get my hands on the insane number of flyers I need for my list XD
Let me see if I got this right. I am building a Loyalist Ultramarine force. I pick a Legion demi-company formation and fill it out. I then can make another Legion demi-company formation and make it Imperial Fist, that does NOT count toward my 30% ally limit which I can use for Auxillia, Knights, or Titans.
Correct. Your primary force is “space marines”. Legion rules are just something that “Space Marines” give to their formations.
Is getting two starters worth it or should one just do the starter then add on ? Sorry I’m very new to all this . Bit. This looks exciting and I’ve watched battle reports
2 starters is an ok way to start if you want to do both armies, or can swap with someone else. But probably a little inefficient once the boxes come out. Up to you really as to how fast you want to get your hands on them :)
This would be very valuable if you could actually buy any of these models, let alone units
Yeh, sadface :(
The more I read about LI, I start to see elements of “Team Yankee” being brought into the older version of spacemarine.
I dont see a lot of TY in it myself. The shooting dynamics are different. Assault is different. Structures change things wildly and air is different. Doesnt feel close to me!
Sorry for being pedantic. Can HQs influence models in a separate formation? Friendly formations I mean?
Yep! Commander, inspire and medicae all work on nearby detachments/models.
@@Hearesy thanks man. I was eating. While listening so I didn't give it 100 percent😁
any tips for RG?
Same as most other armies right now, with extra infantry and objective sitting :)
So, how about that utterly absurd recommended 3000 point army?
So 12 base blobs of marines aint a bad way to go? Sturdy as fudge
Yeh. My first 1000 points has two, both with HQs.
Step 1: buy a 3D printer
Esp if you want an iron warriors army, MK6 armour? No way!
Mine are running now
Good morning. Really enjoyed this video. My son and i are just starting in Legion Imperialis. Picking up the starter set and the new Battlegroup set at the end of June. Catching up on your content on what we should purchase next. Points wise what does the starter set give one for both armies? What would you recommend in expansions.
Thanks! Great to hear. I think at this point id recommend picking up what you think is coolest, but i would definitely point you in the direction of the dreadnought box for marines and more leman russes for guard!
@@Hearesy my local shop managed to secure that new preorder for me for both the Battlegroups for Astartes and Solar Auxiliary. I do believe these two kits include what you suggest
