Thanks Chris, love your channel on giving good advice on patch panel repairs on the old mopars. Also there is a lot of none rusty 68/69 chargers in Canadian waters, problems is they are stored away in garages and we don't drive them year around and not very often !
Great to see ya saving it. I had a 73 Gold Duster back in the 80s - Got it for $150 with a blown up 318. Put Keystone Classics and N50-15s on it and a 360 4 Barrell in it and it's Screamed!! Should have kept it!!
Super Rust and I wish I could get one for a reasonable price so I could do what you do patch er up and drive it. Love your coin saying, "I drive my junk" , I would love to have one of your rides. I dream just to have one of what you are washing and drive it like your gray charger. Great evening to you and keep it up Chris. I would be interested in a dart or duster stick car or anything like that I would even say a leaning tower power car I would be like a sixteen year old.
Your kidding.. My Gold Duster was kept up and pampered- and rusted away by 1989. The interior was tattered- engine tired, it was used up !! My 96 nissan 200 SX has been driven hard- 286K miles, and STILL looks new inside and out.same with my 01 honda Passport. Dont build them like they used to RHANK GOD !!
Up north where road salt corrodes, many Dusters, Demons, Darts and Valiants died when torsion bars broke thru the front frame. It was their weakness, a fatal flaw. The slant sixes and 318's they put in them would long outlive the frames and sheet metal.
When interior cleaner won’t do, power washin’ the dash to the rescue! Damn nice! You sure the Dart wasn’t dug up near the pyramids?? Keep On Keepin’ On with the great stuff Chris! 😎
I owned a '73 Gold Duster that was my pet car at the time. Really babied that car. One day my landlord asked what i was doing and I answered with the question - Doesn't everyone wax the inside of the trunk and complete engine bay? I sold it when it began to rust out. (Minnesota road salt) Also was costing me about $20.00 a week to keep it in perfect condition. $85.00 a week in 2021 money. Could not justify keeping it.
My Grand Mom bought a 73 Duster brand new, it had one option, the Auto trans, no power anything , no radio. She put 250K on it and it was burning oil so she gave it to her mechanic and got a used car. She had it painted once and had the seats redone once. I really would like to find one I could fix up but here on the east coast where I live they have become one with the earth if they were sitting out in the weather.
Great save man but some ralleys on it some 255/60s tires on her and drive hell out of it .o yea what happened to Christine .man that yard you got her at was the best IV ever saw IV watched it 3 times just tacking in ever thing thats there .
I love the old Plymouth duster’s I can’t wait until I can save up enough money to rescue one for myself oh I’d put a good old big block Mopar in there with a four-speed. And of course she’d be stripped down and repainted because it’s out of the question I’m not keeping it original it’s probably never going to be original but it’ll be mine
Haha this reminds me of the episode on married with children when Al says (peg I lost the dodge!) And it was soo dirty for so long they thought the car was brown but it was actually burgundy
Chris I use to have a duster with 340 in it pulled the 340 and put a slant six 225 and drove from Tooele ut to Ca on 12 .00 in Gas 38 years ago police that car
I have a set of alum slot mags that would fit that duster . 8" wide 15" rear and 14" front ones the offset would look good on it. Otherwise they are going on my elcamino . I have keystones on it now
In Ohio, $6,000 would be a fair price for the car. I wish the others could be rescued. I know he isn't interested in doing that, but whoever is now the owner, should list a car a week on the interweb...
Ah, no - not another "pressure wash the interior video", LOL! Actually I was hoping that you would go around the factory trunk sticker, instead of spraying it, but it looks like most of it survived. Just like the car itself - it's in better shape than if you had found it in the Midwest Rust Belt. 👍
Still like to see you back half one of these Dusters and do a twin turbo build ala fuggly sleeper car that tears your face off when you hammer it :-)) NOICE! Do an ugly Aspen sleeper build with twin turbos and some goodies to hold it together yada yada ;-))
I enjoy your videos, I am working on my first car 1970 Charger 383 Mag. 4 Speed. purchased Nov. 1969. My first car after college.

...Mr. Chris, thanks for the tip! My ‘74 Duster project has the same dent (on the opposite side) i will certainly use your technique! 👍🏼😷👊🏼
Dustin’-Off a saved Duster!
Love it!
Keep On Keepin’ On Chris!
God Bless
😎
My grandma had the same year Gold Duster. My older brother has it now with Cragers around...same 318 motor.
I had a 75 gold Duster with a six cyl and a 904. It was in the 90's. Nice to see this one getting saved!
Al Bundy finally save up enough to get a car from you? I love it!
That's funny lol
Peg i lost the dodge

OMG! Dude you pressure washed the interior 😱
No worse than decades of sun damage
Yeah but it's a Duster. No electronics really to worry about and the interior was shot anyway

Duster rad!! Chargers and cuda's are out of my price range but I can get into a duster for sure!

"That's Gold Jerry, Gold!!"
i have a few 1972 parts if you need them. Also the side turn indicators should still be available from your mopar dealer
Good for you ,lucky pup.
Hi have a 1972 Duster, been in the family since it was born in 72. Has 74,000 original miles, still has the original glass, any takers :) ?
Damn ya did the dash and interior too.....
love them mopars
Grease the tires and oil the windshield, and don't forget to check the muffler bearing...dealer prep.
The blinker fluid is probably contaminated as well.
When interior cleaner won’t do, power washin’ the dash to the rescue!
Damn nice!
You sure the Dart wasn’t dug up near the pyramids??
Keep On Keepin’ On with the great stuff Chris!

I found that surprisingly satisfying!

The chrome on that Duster is still shine now who would just dump a perfect great condition shape Duster now that a shame it still fresh.
Employee at the carwash: Fuck my life...
I have a set of alum slot mags that would fit that duster . 8" wide 15" rear and 14" front ones the offset would look good on it. Otherwise they are going on my elcamino . I have keystones on it now

Little armor all on the dash and Bingo, she’s good to go!
A real beauty.
'73s already had electronic ignition.
In Ohio, $6,000 would be a fair price for the car. I wish the others could be rescued. I know he isn't interested in doing that, but whoever is now the owner, should list a car a week on the interweb...
That place has a ton of sweet shit sitting there just waiting
Careful...the dirt is holding it together!
I've " saved " far worse
Would you sell that bench seat?
Ah, no - not another "pressure wash the interior video", LOL! Actually I was hoping that you would go around the factory trunk sticker, instead of spraying it, but it looks like most of it survived. Just like the car itself - it's in better shape than if you had found it in the Midwest Rust Belt. 👍
