Amazing video as usual. Hard for me to believe that Congo is among the poorest countries. May be because they had one of the most notorious dictators in Africa history. I remember in 1974 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt (my country), they had a match against the host and Sese Seko called the team over the phone and threaten them if the lose they will be sent home on foot. They won ;)
In my opinion since the African continent is rich in natural resources but lots of poverty, the corporations benefiting from those natural resources will do everything to keep the natives from benefiting from those resources to keep the corporations' profits up and to keep the wages of the natives down.
Great video as always Sal! Really enjoyed listening to this while sipping on my morning coffee here in Luang Prabang watching the Mekong flow by 🙂 have a great day! Looking forward to more videos from this series! Love it!

CAR: the corruption of the diamond industry is horrible.. isn't like 90% of diamonds sold illegally, which means that the government does not see any of that revenue? Sad.
boochy115 I just read today that the people in Botswana are actually benefiting quite a bit from their diamonds. Maybe CAR can learn a thing or two from them? 😉
Brother....i guess it is gonna be so much fun if you make the video of that country...how the people live...how they eat...their houses... and explain it all, when you are there.
It seems out of context but god was the Dominican Republic when you visited it? Some people are rude there and I hope you had a great experience there!
Why do you have to get generalize a group of people while I said some Dominicans are rude (as a Dominican my self) it’s not all of them it’s a 5% amount that I have met are in the capital which are usually just more higher class people But while I said some people are rude it’s not really the entire country I go to the DR to visit my family in more smaller towns there are some good and bar people I met maybe because you only gone to the resorts or more dense areas you met some bad Dominicans who might come off as bad (mostly because some people have gotten pick pocketed before) sorry you had a overall bad experience with my people because of what ever happened to you in a resort if you ever come back just make sure to not act “rich”
As an English person, it always confuses me when people don't think the countries of the UK are different countries. They kind of are, but they kind of aren't, it's very confusing, but as an English person I've always seen them as separate. Where are you from?

@Samira Hussen I dont know what your saying because I cant identify your language. I personnaly have nothing against Africa. And of course every country has poor people, but Africa has a way higher percentage.
Hello my friend.. Nice to meet you here... I have a question for you.. Might be it is a little silly. But kindly answer... You said that you had been to every nuke and corner of the world.. Really sounds good to hear.. How do you make money for your travel and expenses my friend?? Am very interested to visit these nations.. But due to financial problems I have been struck my friend.. Hope you can give me a positive answer with good ways to sort my problem out... Thank you my friend
Visit our continent but do not reinforce the eurocentric vision the world has about africa. Talk about your continent and let us talk about our own problems.
Sal I have some bad news, I just created a new country in my house, come visit
hahaha on my way!
If that country is recognized by the UN than I have no problems visiting.
😂😄
Very informative video, I've never been to the African continent. Fellow UA-camr here, hopefully I can film an episode in Africa one day.
god willing! It's my favorite continent to travel to for sure

love your positive attitude, sal!

SAL have you been in great Somalia and what information do you have also what is their ranking thanks
It's in the video
I appreciate one thing about the DR Congo, the Okapi. The Okapi is a fascinating creature
hahah true!
Why have you not made a video on your trip to DRC, other than this small mention...?
didn't film while there
I think I started a country somewhere but forgot what it is.
hahaha :D
The Burundi photo of 1:41 its actually La Paz Bolivia

yes exactly
What languages do you speak?
spanish, swahili, and german
@@SalLavallo193 and English obviously.
Interesting series Sal. I want to go to Haiti. Really sucks that Haiti rebuilds and then gets battered, and then go through the cycle again
It's a horrific cycle - haiti has been unlucky.
Sal, have you been to all the countries that aren’t recognised by every country e.g Taiwan or South Ossetia?
Not all of them, but many!
5:26 Sal I'm not saying your home is haunted and you should burn it down, but I'm not NOT saying it either.
lmao maybe it is!!

Sal where's Yemen on your poorest countries list?
The videos are continent by continent. I've done Europe and Africa only. Asia will come soon.
what languages do you speak bro?
Swahili, Spanish, and German
Sal Lavallo Impressive! Not Arabic (yet), though? 😉 I thought that might go along with your conversion to Islam?
Thank you so much for sharing this you are inspiring

These countries all have GDP PPP per capita of around 700-800, Malawai is higher at 1,200

yes Bougainville - think it will take quite some time for it to actually happen.

happy that you enjoyed!
Rwanda is also one of the most repressive regimes in Africa. Kagame can not stand oppossition, he kills and dissappears his critics
i had thought you would have choosen my country. can you guess where I'm from by seeing the flag 🇬🇳🇬🇳??
I can't see the flag- just says GN - so I guess Guinea?
Mali? ( a complete guess)

An European telling africans about Africa. This should change. An African should tell Africans about Africa
Visit our continent but do not reinforce the eurocentric vision the world has about africa. Talk about your continent and let us talk about our own problems.
As a side note, Africa would be 100x poorer without colonization.
unlikely.
