This is sick -- do you think the jetty is the best spot for this, or if the north end of Sea Island might surf well, too? Just got back from learning how to surf in Costa Rica, and I've caught the bug -- want to figure out how to get out there when I visit my parents so I was thinking about buying a SUP for stuff like this. Do you have any recs?

Men after watching this video I drove down only to find out that this is a private island. I was really looking forward to that wave and even explained to the security guard that I drove from Macon just to catch a couple waves. He say I needed to either own real state there or be a member of the Sea island club.

Hey Josue, sorry to hear about that! Yes, the only ways are to own real estate, be a member, or know a member that can call you in a pass. Otherwise, you can also paddle there from the north tip of St Simons Island. (I do it often for exercise). The beaches are public, but Sea Island Company bought out any access to them so they could them advertised as "private" and make money. (basically stole it from the residents of the state) really pisses me off. Bunch of elitist snobs.
