Thats a tough choice! Both two of my favorite boards in the JL line. I love the tail on the Destroyer for nice clean days such as this one in the video. Its more of a pulled in round pin and holds its line more, where the super frank has a squash and releases more in a snappier fashion. Hope that helps, Kent! Cheers

Hey Josue, this is actually not Sea Island. This is the north end of St Simons Island. Some of my other videos with the Rock Jetty are Sea Island. St Simons Island does not require a pass and is all public.

Hey Josue, sorry to hear about that! Yes, the only ways are to own real estate, be a member, or know a member that can call you in a pass. Otherwise, you can also paddle there from the north tip of St Simons Island. (I do it often for exercise). The beaches are public, but Sea Island Company bought out any access to them so they could them advertised as "private" and make money. (basically stole it from the residents of the state) really pisses me off. Bunch of elitist snobs.

Hey Kent! Thats great to hear about your progression and aspirations to drop down to smaller SUPs. It's such a fun journey! so I'm not as familiar with the starboard pro but I know they make great boards, but I am familiar with the JL Super Franks and my suggestion is they are great boards to drop from a larger board. I would recommend something in the mid 8 foot range. The 8'6 Frank looks like it would be a great fit for you! Hey Capcorn100, A nicely shaped longboard built for nose riding with be just as good if not better than a SUP in my experience. The board I'm on here is a Jimmy Lewis Striker model (8'11) and Jimmy is a master shaper that loves nose riding so this board is particularly great for riding the tip and also turns well.

This was my friend John Woodstocks board. It's a company called SMIK from Australia. I was borrowing it for this swell because my biggest board was a 6'11 at the time for the contest and that swell in Montauk got to be a solid double overhead so I needed a bit more board haha!

I'm also 6'3 which is pretty tall for a surfer and my advice is to not shy away from training/surfing in windy/choppy conditions! Glad to help anytime. A log is the best board of choice for most all given days aside from the (rare) occasional groundswells/nor'easters where the waves can push a fish/shorter board. How much you rent board's for? I have a board that I bought it's a 8'8 I had custom made similar to rusty big boy little thicker think 3" but don't know how it would do there.of course I just recently found out about t his place..lol I live in waycrosd an drive to jax fernadina jetty to surf.
