The way Vessel enunciates everything so completely makes me believe he is a classically trained vocalist. His control over his voice and total range is something to behold.

I agree, especially when I wear a headset it sounds like Vessel's working overtime to restrain his voice.
He didn’t sing in the first chorus because he was still in a chokehold, you can hear him being released at the last seconds of the song :)

It has been one of my favorite musical journeys watching people react to this band for the first time. I found them 3 years ago and the success they have gotten is unbelievable. You my friend are a fantastic reactor, don’t stop pausing to add input or catch little details, that what we are here for. You HAVE to react to the rest of the songs on the album, no weak songs at all. Keep it up I’ll be here for them all!

Awesome catch with the slurred speech before entering into the first unspoken chorus. If you notice, he does the same slurred speech with "beneath" at the exit of that choked chorus as well . Other vocal effects related to being choked are frequent gasps and the very long note at the end, which literally chokes you if you sing along

You would probably be surprised to hear that Vessel does all the writing and recording other than the drums. Guitars, keys, synth, melodies, vocal layers, backing choirs etc. Dude is a monster. II is the drummer.

5:45 something I just noticed having heard this many times before: You can hear a foreshadowing to the heavy guitar part's siren kind of sound. I can't tell if it IS the guitar but mixed way farther back, or maybe a synth version of the same WAooo WAooo WAooo line

It’s him chanting in the background. He also plays all of the instruments besides drums and does all the vocal layers in studio recording. Live he has III and IV playing guitar and bass with II on the drums of course.

can you believe someone/something like this exists? lmao. I got chills listening to this with you and I've heard it hundreds of times. your attention to detail slow down the songs for me. and WISE choice to start from the beginning of the album. glad you did man. you'll really appreciate the album the way it was intended it to be heard.
I feel like structure wise this one sticks somewhat to the traditional layout. for me it sounds like:
intro/first verse
pre chorus 1
chorus 1
drop out / "let it breathe" haha
second verse
pre chorus 2
chorus 2
bridge/outro?
but the way he uses the layout sonically is definitely not too traditional in terms of him reusing sections note for note and melody for melody hahaha for me that what makes it really feel like a journey. parts are slightly familiar but new as the story unfolds and by the end you feel SOMETHING. you're left full of curiosity and wonder. you're left to think or reflect or reminisce. not the whole "yeah song was cool, verse was cool chorus was cool but I got tired of them by the second time they came around" kind of thing.
still gonna push for you to check out The Night before the rest of the album so you can appreciate Euclid when you get to it. I know the fans will really appreciate it, and ultimately I think you'll really enjoy and appreciate the detail and love he has for his craft and the people who have supported him and the band since they've started. it's like a "thank you, and you're welcome" moment from both the band and the supporters.
would also love to get your email and chat a bit regarding your channel. I think you could be huge and beneficial to the reaction world especially considering you seem to have a background in production and can catch/educate people on sounds they don't know are happening or how they might've created the sounds in the first place.
also curious what headphones you recommend? I have some Skullcandy Crusher's because you can control the sub bass, but I know I'm probably missing out on a lot of depth and detail.

I’m only pushing for it so hard because the call back to The Night in Euclid is such an integral part to the song 👀 so you can thank me later when the community swarms your videos after that one hahaha

You have to experience them live. I experienced them live twice in one week in two different cities. The first show was a pop-up show out of nowhere on a Wednesday 15 minutes from home because the show the night before at another venue got cancelled. How on earth do you suddenly add a show at another venue during a scheduled tour??? The second show was two days later in a brand new venue in Boston. I will be seeing them again on September 13th in Baltimore at my absolute favorite venue...Ramshead Live!

I just got into ST a year ago and they really grew on me. I was pretty oblivious to their release schedule and whatnot so when this song dropped at the beginning of the year it just hit different .

Some of their songs they do an instructional chorus the first time around and then add vocals on the second chorus. Another example is their song hypnosis.

I highly recommend that you check out The Charismatic Voice and her reaction/breakdown of the vocals specifically for this song (either on your own or in a separate video), you'd abs dig that. Plus Will Ramos does a cover of this, though maybe the algorithm has already brought you to it. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!
I filmed this a few days ago... And just like you said... The UA-cam Gods have shown me nothing but reaction videos of Sleep Token. I haven't watched them, but I am familiar with the Charismatic Voice. I have watched her in the past. Very knowledgeable about vocal technique, which I am not lol. From my limited understanding there’s a ton of ST track which are more……normal?…..like this one but A they are amazing and B they REALLY build to the last chorus, basic, elevated, then full blown. It’s magical

I don't know how much musical experience you have, but... not having a normal song structure is just what progressive music is. Progressive is a *huge* genre. It's not unique to Sleep Token. Not saying Sleep Token isn't rather unique, because it is, but... not because it's progressive.
Yea man, I'm familiar with prog and math rock and such. I'd go so far as to say these guys aren't even progressive. They just feel different. I wouldn't put these guys in a certain genre. Not yet anyway, I'm only a few songs in so I'm totally still an amateur lol.
@@oldstonerun Yeah, no, throughout all of your Sleep Token reactions it's been incredibly clear to me that you don't know progressive music *at all*. Like not in the slightest. Claiming Sleep Token isn't progressive gets an unsubscribe from me for sure.
