No one talks about how Vessel held that note at the end. I tried exhaling for the same amount of time he held it and I almost suffocated myself. Phenomenal.
That's about expanding the bottom part of your lungs for a full breath (singing breathing is different), controlling the amount of air you push out (common mistake is to push the air out too fast) and lastly being in great physical shape (like Vessel is or any stage performer really) helps a little too.
Everyone telling you to listen to Euclid should understand you need to indulge in their early works as much as possible, to fully bring this album, song, and trilogy to a close. As others have suggested. Run their discography. Feel their music. Then wrap it all up with Euclid
I know it’s cliche but the summoning is just unbelievable… for me tho, Chokehold is still my favorite, Rain, the summoning and Take me back to Eden are all really close tho
Low key, this may be my favorite ST song. It's angry, violent, beautiful, and almost ranges into gospel-style in that final chorus. It makes me wanna raise my hands up and join in. Can I also say I love your channel for the simple fact that you riff along w the band on the keys. Keep up the good work!
Im going to keep asking until it happens😂 Is It Really You…? By Sleep Token and Loathe. Its a hauntingly beautiful song, and i know for 110% that you guys will love it. 1000/10 recommend
Their new Album (a Masterpiece to me) "Take Me Back To Eden" (TMBTE) is pure gold, song by song. There's also two points to mention: 1. Vessel 1 is the composer of ALL the music, every instruments (guitar, piano, bass guitar, voice) except for the drum that is a job for Vessel 2; 2. The 3 album of Sleep Token, the previous two and TMBTE represent a trilogy, and they are linked in a very special way. In this last album, TMBTE, there are a lot of callbacks from the previous albums. SO GOOD. These callbacks are also inside the same album. If you listen to all the tracks by this wonderful album you can easly listen to!
An emotional chokehold is less scary than... dreadful I think. Loved your input on this track and the artists-spot on! Also appreciate the playing along and yes, even the *pauses* for commentary 😁
Will Ramos of Lorna Shore (who you have reacted to) has done an excellent cover of Chokehold. The man of a thousand demon voices has done a mostly clean cover of Sleep Token showing that he can sing normally.
Personally I love that you pause a lot and bring in your own thoughts and insights! Love the content, btw your ear is insane!! As a music student, I strive to have that knowledge of where the music is going and being able to transcribe it so quickly to make musical sense of it.
I just realized how the entire album sort of loops on itself (Chokehold has the same lyrics in it's first verse as Take Me Back to Eden in it's last verse)
Their sound design is what I love the most. Kinda reminds me a bit of The Mars Volta “deloused in the comatorium” in terms of deliberate audio choices between musical moments.
I laughed so hard on "What's the singer's job?" 🤣 Simply because I thought you meant like Vessel's real job regarding his sexy voice 😋 To me Vessel's singing here is sooo seductive 🥰
Yeah II the drummer is insane, always said hes one of the best out there currently, he has a couple of just drum playthroughs on youtube, should react to the hypnosis one, absouletly unreal.
Going off your comment about the singer's job, there aren't many artists I've heard that make me feel like the words they're saying are just as important as how they're saying them, or the rest of the song for that matter. Vessel, Chester Bennington, Eminem. There's probably others, but those are the 3 that come to mind immediately. They also just so happen to be 3 of my favorite artists and I think thats because its a lot easier to resonate with their music, and their lyrics in general because of how you feel when they sing/rap them.
Hello..I totally dig your breakdown and discovered ST kinda by accident, as I found your video....& subscribed😉 This band completely fascinates me and I'm like drowning in them a little bit....trying not to become obsessive but I think it's too late. Anyways I just moved to Connecticut from NY last year and don't really know anyone else into this this in my life & i try to turn people on to them but nobody seems to have the time in their lives for new music so im over here bonding with people online lol🤣 & yes!...been in both types of chokeholds & when you asked "whats the singers' job?"....my immediate response...to convey. & holy fuckn crap does he ever!!! I hear soooo much Maynard in his opening vocals *chills* and the rest of the band is just as superb! The live performances I've watched are over the top & enhanced by what i describe as "some brilliant interpretive dance moves" This band is going to become very VERY big imo
II's drumming is probably the best example of technical excellence, artistry and musicianship I can recall in "heavy' music for quite some time. II recently disclosed on the Drumeo piece that he is strongly influenced by gospel drumming. I would say that gospel influence is ALL over this album--composition, vocals, chord progressions--not just the drums.
Mr Music Shed Man, I really think you would enjoy Calcutta by the ol’ Token. It’s one of their earlier works but it’s phenomenal. It’s Howies favourite.
Gunna say the singers job is to make you feel what they feel. Get your emotions going, can’t tell you how excited I am to see them at the house of blues in October!
Really enjoy your analysis! just wish I had your command over music theory. I have so much I want to say, but never devoted the time to develop my songwriting ability. It's a lot easier to squeeze in vocal and instrument practice than having larger chunks of time to create melodies.
Has anyone else noticed that the guitar riff that comes in during the Chokehold chorus sounds a lot like "Alarm Bells"? - further tying into other songs.
So hearing you talk about their use of chords, do you feel like Vessel has some music theory background, or even jazz specifically? Cuz it seems like his choices seem very deliberately layered in a different way than we normally hear.
Such a nice reaction! It would be interesting to hear some comments technically wise, not only vocally, but in a composition sense, maybe... Being such an awesome musician, might be intersting. Love your content and energy. Keep it up!
David! Going back to Sleep Token's song Aqua Regia, can you point me to any jazz musicians that have a sound similar to Aqua Regia? Ive been obsessed and i would love to discover more music that sounds similar.
there's a new BRING ME THE HORIZON album coming out in september 15th although it's been delayed for a while. will u react to the whole album when it's out??? I'M huge and masive fan of BMTH and YOU (of course!! I love your channel) greetings from Spain!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Just do their entire discography at this point! Even their earliest tracks are absolutely beautiful both sonically and lyrically.
I second this!!! Start from where it all began!!😍🤘🏼
I second you seconding this.
Two is their best work
The production has definitely improved a lot since their earliest work, but all Sleep Token is good Sleep Token.
I would kill for an album review from David!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
No one talks about how Vessel held that note at the end. I tried exhaling for the same amount of time he held it and I almost suffocated myself. Phenomenal.
Bro I played a brass instrument in high school (still kept my breath endurance) and I can only make it about 75% it’s crazy

Agreed 100%
Euclid is the best track off the album. It will blow your mind.
This!!!!
I know it’s cliche but the summoning is just unbelievable… for me tho, Chokehold is still my favorite, Rain, the summoning and Take me back to Eden are all really close tho
I really think you’ll connect with Euclid off the new album. The piano playing is excellent and it’s a beautiful song to end the album.
YESSSS
Emotional chokehold, yes.
Physical chokehold, yes.
Both at the same time, also yes.
I forgive you and still love you grandma

High key
Phenomenal drummer. What a great combo of that big swinging beat with the chugging guitar
Yeah, that is a tasteful shuffle beat for you right there.
Im going to keep asking until it happens😂 Is It Really You…? By Sleep Token and Loathe. Its a hauntingly beautiful song, and i know for 110% that you guys will love it. 1000/10 recommend
Favorite ST song for sure. So powerful musically and lyrically. Incredible.
The chord qualities are insane on their newest album. One thing I think you might appreciate is the callback to CHOKEHOLD in TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN.
Their new Album (a Masterpiece to me) "Take Me Back To Eden" (TMBTE) is pure gold, song by song.

"So show me that which I cannot see, even if it hurts me; even if I can't sleep." Always hits so hard. Love the creation

i cannot express how much serotonin your videos give me.
Atlantic is a beautiful song with beautiful piano I feel you would appreciate!
Their sound design is what I love the most. Kinda reminds me a bit of The Mars Volta “deloused in the comatorium” in terms of deliberate audio choices between musical moments.
the mars Volta - nice pull, and good comparison
I get slipknot vermillion part 2 vibes
@@RoadLessTraveledMedia I love that album. The sound design really tells the story.
Hadn’t heard Mars Deloused here until this comment. Very nice.
@@tangiblespace 🤝
I laughed so hard on "What's the singer's job?" 🤣 Simply because I thought you meant like Vessel's real job regarding his sexy voice 😋 To me Vessel's singing here is sooo seductive 🥰
Hey David!!
That song is Breezin' by George Benson.
I play the saxophone and My lil brother plays the guitar. We jam to that song a lot.
Hardly anyone mentions how sensual these songs are. I feel like I'm in a sexual swoon when I listen to them
It proves amazing that they can change their sound on a dime
Yeah II the drummer is insane, always said hes one of the best out there currently, he has a couple of just drum playthroughs on youtube, should react to the hypnosis one, absouletly unreal.
This was the First Song i heard Live while being there for Architects and i was standing in the Front Rows and i gotta tell ya it BLEW ME AWAY.

When I see the Music Shed covering Sleep Token I click on the damn video! Great job as always!

I hear it big time
Emote. That is what Vessel does better than anyone. I can't wait to WORSHIP at his feet in May. Thank you for appreciating with us.
Love how the 1st chord reminds me of Shine on you crazy diamonds ,)
Thank you for connecting!!! Me too.
Now listen to take me back to Eden again, listen out for the “it was no accident” from the start of this song. Bringing the album full circle. Amazing
Ohhh yessss. Another Sleep Token reaction. Can’t wait for “Rain” if you ever get to it 🖤🖤🖤
I’m glad you are doing this reaction. I just got into Sleep Token yesterday!
This entire album is amazing and I love your commentary on it
This album lives rent free in my head since it dropped and I’m not mad 😂
Mr Music Shed Man, I really think you would enjoy Calcutta by the ol’ Token. It’s one of their earlier works but it’s phenomenal. It’s Howies favourite.
Still my favorite
Soooo underrated. That´s the song that got me into Sleep Token
@@breeenderbre same man!
David came in spicy on this one. However once again you managed to say all the things I feel about this song and couldn't express.
Gunna say the singers job is to make you feel what they feel. Get your emotions going, can’t tell you how excited I am to see them at the house of blues in October!
Glad you’re back!! Can’t wait for more reactions 🔥🤘🏼
You gotta react to the new Spiritbox song “Jaded”! It’s honestly some of the best work they’ve put out
I’ve been in both type of Chokeholds. Loved writing this with Sleep Token.
Lol! In yo dreams!!!
Earthside - We Who Lament
Hazel (Keturah) has such an amazing/unique voice. You will not be disappointed.
Everyone's favorite music dad is coming in HOT with the SASS today 😂😂😂 Hi, Howie!
Hot Sass… that’s what they called me in high school
Worship
Excellent reaction and commentary!
If you like ii’s drumming you should watch his play throughs! His feel for the kit is unreal
it would be interesting for you to react to Take Aim by them, absolutely love that song and it's so interesting atmospherically.
The drummer has a couple playthroughs of their songs highlighted on him, check out hypnosis, an offering from II to see just how good he is
You need to do TELOMERES, if only just for the drumming. It's amazing.
And that guitar solo!
One of their most underrated.
THE BUILD OH MA GOD- same as higher i recon he would love it!
Yes. I slept on that song for so long. I listen to it often now it's incredible
Sleep Tokens II on Drumeo must watch you will love it so much
Really enjoy your analysis!

Dude, him blowing up is great. Been following the guy since his covers ages ago. Keen to seen them bmth and make them suffer in april
Thanks for the theroy breakdown too! 🙏🏼
PLEASSSSE react to Will Ramos covering Chokehold, I think you would be surprised to hear him throwing down some not so Satany vocals :)
When are we gonna get some Jazzy Piano acoustic Sleep Token covers?? I'm dying over here brother 😩😂
I did Aqua Regia
@@MusicShedwell obviously the masses need more xD

Yes
@MusicShed thank you 😊
You need to check out the cover of this song that Will Ramos (the singer from Lorna Shore) recorded; it's incredible...
Such a nice reaction! It would be interesting to hear some comments technically wise, not only vocally, but in a composition sense, maybe... Being such an awesome musician, might be intersting. Love your content and energy. Keep it up!
Im loving your reactions
Just learning this band. Need more research but that was serious! I love your words & think we would have a great time at a concert! 🤘🏻🔥
I almost put your pause count in this comment for the Vessel 1-15 joke… jkjk
Please do Euclid or Nazareth, two of my favorites from them
EUCLID
Two thumbs up for the rad KISS Destroyer shirt
3 thumbs up!

Mine too!
You absolutely need to check out Jericho by them
Yes yes yes
PLEASE do more sleep token
This song chewed me up and spat me out.
I have a feeling that Vessel II might also be Vessel 11…..🤔
So mysterious this wonderful group. 🥰
Loved It (:
Howie is the enigma behind the screen...
It's kinda weird being serenaded to in the first 30s of the video
You need to do the new Dance Gavin Dance song they wrote for the late Tim F their bassist. Its called the Battle Of Billy Royalton.
If there is any band that deserves your music thoery breakdown, its sleep token! Feed me all of your knowledge 🤣🤣🤣 WORSHIP!
I think everyone has been in an emotional chokehold at some point in their lifetime
New Spiritbox to check out…👀
Will Ramos from Lorna Shore covered this song as well as hypnotize. You should check it out if you haven't already. I bet you will be shocked.
worship!
Hoping to see you react to “Are You Really Okay?” from them soon!
Worship.
David! Going back to Sleep Token's song Aqua Regia, can you point me to any jazz musicians that have a sound similar to Aqua Regia? Ive been obsessed and i would love to discover more music that sounds similar.
I’d have to think…
Pause it at the crescendo one more time I swear to god….
I do it every time. I’m the worst
I love your reactions!! Can you please please please do Motionless in White? I will keep bugging you!😊😊
Now i would really like to see will ramos version😂
