  • I’ve never seen a sensory tool like this before so I had to give it a go!
While this particular one wasn’t a great choice for me…I donated it to Project Hope Foundation…and there’s a teenager over there who LOVES it! 😍

    Instructions for calming sensory toy:
STEP 1. Attempt to inflate toy until thoroughly exhausted.
STEP 2. Take a long, soothing nap, thus achieving CALM.
    STEP 3. Repeat as needed.

    • @WhyEvenBother-t4w

Step 4. Pet patiently waiting dog in the background.

@@WhyEvenBother-t4w If there is a pooch anywhere nearby, skip all the above steps, return the “calming sensory toy” to the store and use the refund to buy dog toys. Then pet/play with doggo, thus achieving CALM/JOY/NIRVANA.

In my childhood my grandma used to take me to the local attraction park in my previous city. And they had an attraction that is a pool where you were put in a big transparent plastic/rubber/whatever ball, that was then filled with air, and then you went into the pool in that ball. I loved that. The best sensory experience , 10/10

We had one of these in the first autism classroom I worked in! Except that one was more colorful and had plastic balls inside it. Easiest way to make it work is to lay across the middle of it and roll back and forth. Also it is not immune to sharp objects and if it gets a hole in it you will NEVER find it. 🙃 Personally I always found the giant cocoon/boat/peapod thing in that room to be more relaxing/fun.

I remember my grandma had some sort of rocking chair, but it was a weird curve shaped thing that resembled the front bucket seat in a 70s car. It just sat in the middle of the room and you could sit in it and rock around. It was big enough to fit an adult under 6'. That thing was SO MUCH FUN. I don't know why they stopped being made because it does the exact thing this inflatable does, but with less sadness and frustration.

To me, you come off as pretty normal if quirky when you're addressing the camera, but then when you divide your attention, it jumps out a bit more, and I think that's why it took me half a lifetime to figure out what other people are seeing in me. Staring at yourself is a really simple activity where it's hard to identify your own oddness, but if I go look at myself attempting to actually live, that's where the weirdness comes out. And I'm fine with it. I just needed an explanation as to why people treat me like they do.. You, on the other hand, are very charming and likeable.

Sometimes it is faster to just blow stuff up using your lungs, at least to start, your lungs probably have more capacity than the pump does, but getting a high pressure would be more difficult, so starting with lungs and then switching to the pump might be the least effort way to do it. Although it will still tiring either way, so maybe the pump is best.
