    2:37 I'm impressed by the fact that an APU can finally run RDR2 with decent fps at 1080p.
    I would lower the in-game resolution while keeping the 1080p HUD to get more fps.
    Try to cap the fps at 45-46 fps if you can't maintain 60fps and hate 30 fps.
    Even Thomas Edison said that anything less than 46 fps is not optimal. (Yes, he did say that and I'm not making that up)

      @@RandomGaminginHD Thank you for the response and the heart.
      I've been saying this for the last 4 months in your previous videos.
      Btw, I used to have an i3 4130 even a few months ago (from 2013 to 2021) but I "upgraded" to a 4th gen i5 4460S (I couldn't find a better CPU like a 4690K or even an i7). I know, it's not a big upgrade, but most of the upcoming games aren't really interesting enough to me. So I will wait until more interesting games and better CPUs come out.
      Also this i5 is pretty impressive for what it is and it at least runs games with a stable fps (and better 1% & 0.1% low) compared to my old i3 thanks to this CPU having 4 real cores instead of 4 fake cores.
      When the time's right, I will switch to a 6/7th gen Ryzen (or 12/13th gen Intel CPU if Intel offers better price to performance ratio by that time).

Added a 1TB budget nvme drive but kept the Win install on the 2.5inch ssd so that extra could have been left out. Kept the old GTX1060.
      Nice and cheap. €330 or so. I rarely if ever replace a system entirely at once. Always buy either GPU, psu if it fails or shows hiccups (just measure voltages by sticking the probes in a molex every 6mo when you spray out the dust), storage here and there.
      Also hot tip: just go to grandado or whatever and get an M.2 ngff adapter (A and E key) and just buy the WiFi for in there. The best cards at bottom price when you upgrade WiFi. I found it cheaper in the long run when having desktops for 8+ years but new router every 2-3.
      Also for that case buy either thin mini-itx with Celeron or Pcengines apu. Want better WiFi upgrade the M.2 in the adapter or mini pcie slot. Always newest WiFi just replace the chip. My Celeron 3930 with OPNsense has 3 WiFi cards and makes for an excellent fast router. No need to buy expensive design routers or mesh sets.

    • @shaneeslick
      @shaneeslick 3 роки тому

      @@ZaberfangX Yeah it does work, I don't disagree with that, but at High Image Quality & Resolutions,
      Most comments by reviewers only go by 4K results where you are upscaling 1440p or Higher which is already very good Image Quality,
      Tim from Hardware Unboxed showed that when you are using DLSS to help output at 900/1080p (like your example of graphics settings for an APU), because it is upscaling a much lower definition 480/720p to get the 900/1080p the results are not as good & the difference in Image Quality gets very noticeable,
      When you use DLSS it does not go looking to see what Native Resolution output you want looks like & output that, it has to use the Original Detail Information your PC is producing & then make it bigger, so the less original Detail the less detail you get when Upscaling, it is not magic & cannot make a lower resolution as good as the Native it is trying to upscale too, so the difference between 4k Native & 4K DLSS will be less noticeable than the difference between 1440p Native & 1440p DLSS, which will be less noticeable than the difference between 1080p Native & 1080p DLSS, which will be less noticeable than the difference between 900p Native & 900p DLSS, which will be less noticeable than the difference between 720p Native & 720p DLSS, this is if you have in game texture & detail settings set to highest,
      then if you include lowering in game texture & detail settings the Image Quality gap between DLSS & Native is even greater
      So yes for a RTX3080/3090 or RX6800XT/6900XT at 4K it will work really well & you will barely notice a difference, but an APU at 900p Low you will get a noticeable difference

    Yeah, I'm building a new PC this week, and I'm foregoing the graphics card for now, so I'm going for the 4650G.
    There's a store in my country that is selling them boxed, so it'll be easier to build the PC the way I want.
    The way I see it, there's not much difference in between it and the 3600, which is a good processor, so when GPUs become more affordable it'll just be the matter of slapping a good card on it and go to town.

  • @jacekjagosz
    @jacekjagosz 3 роки тому +5

    I love this CPU, even if it isn't he best buy it is interesting and fun! First Renoir (4xxx series) are best CPUs for RAM overclocking in the world, overclocker Buildzoid showed their capabilities really well. In many countries they cost similarly to 3600 and they can play almost all games on their iGPU.
    Then I bought this CPU instead of 3600 as they cost nearly the same. Soon after my GTX 1070 died. And instead of being stuck without a GPU in the worst time to buy one, I just connected DisplayPort to the motherboard, and continued on. With really low resolution scales I finished Cyberpunk, and can play multiplayer games like Rainbow Six: Siege with ease. Also this CPU is decent at compiling and Fluid Flow simulation. And all that with 65W TDP.

      @@lenscapes2755 Right now it seems to be memory speeds/channels. For example my 2200g does 4 Ghz on stock air cooler with a 65% GPU overclock (extremely golden sample on the graphics), but its memory controller is not the best so I can't even run 3600 Mhz kits at XMP (I've tried 6 different sticks, all of which will run 3777+ in quad channel on my Threadripper first gen) and best it does is 3200 Mhz then try to reel in the timings. So even though I by far have the fastest core and graphics on 3dMark I don't take first due to slow memory (when I'm benching that its obviously much faster speeds than what I noted, but I have it delided with direct die sub-zero phase cooling for normal gaming and benching plus I managed to fit my T-Rex LN2 cooler for Threadrippers onto it if you don't mind using zip ties, haha!)
      Quad channel could also help (I see over a 10% CPU performance drop in Cinebench on my Threadripper if I only use duel channel), however AM4 does not support quad channel and that would help too or be another option.

    When I bought my Ryzen 5, I went down a notch because I didn't want an APU so ended up with the 2600g which is holding up very well. I knew my motherboard didn't have an APU facility and no graphics out on the board and my RX570 would work fine so I saw no point in adding in something I would never utilise. It was difficult finding a straight Ryzen 5 at that time and I was very nearly looking into Ryzen 3 turf then found a bundle with a 2600 and for its age it wasn't that far behind a 3600g certainly the slight loss I could live with. This weekend I am hoping to get into my cupboard of despair and get out all the old AGP and early PCIex hardware including a lovely XFX x1300, poss my much abused and warranty replaced 9800GT and maybe even a couple old NF2 era mobo's lurking in there I seem to have spotted :)

    I still hope AMD will start using the infinity cache they introduced with the RX6000 series GPUs in future APUs. Infinity cache made it possible for AMD to work with a 192-bit bus interface where a competing model by NVidia needs 256 bits plus faster VRAM (while performing slightly worse). Means, infinity cache helps to drastically increase data throughput which would (I think) partially solve the bandwidth issue in iGPUs. I therefore believe that future APUs could finally deliver a performance between an RX 560 and 570 or even more - which would be great - not only for gaming. Come on AMD, do something!
    I don't feel there was much progress in APUs throughout the past 3 years. Time to change it.

      UA-cam will compress it so bad it won't matter. I did a test and it looks like it might be 70:1 compression size (like turns 70 MB video into 1 MB, as that's roughly how compressed I had to go in Handbrake to make it look the same. Even my old garbage phone that only did 480p video (and not even well) I still noticed compression loss at 720p and even just a little at 1080p (which is roughly 16x 480p images), so it really won't matter if he records at a dumpster fire of a setting or the best available, because UA-cam will make it look trash either way, and I'm not so sure it wouldn't look better at a low rate if UA-cam would mess with it less but I really don't know.
