Had it for 3 months now, it’s worn every day to work , I’m installing alarms , and it’s still looking great ! My fav out of 30 watches in my collection
Great looking watch. I see no problems with any watches (unless it’s a fake), homages or not. If you like a certain look and your price point is what’s in your budget, then buy and enjoy what interests you!
@@RandomRobReviews for the aesthetics, homages are great. As long as it's not fake...it's just an ego and status thing that you can afford the luxury product, and ultimately, who cares about that.
When you first posted this watch I saw the “coming soon” their site too. I got on the email wait list and also emailed them about when they might be back in stock. Couple days later I got a response and was able to buy one from the site. They went really fast and were out of stock again within an hour of my purchase. I sure hope they get more in soon. It’s a really nice watch.
I had this watch for ten minutes. It seemed great on paper, but in the metal it was difficult to read. There are so many markers it makes reading the minute hand a chore. Flipped.
Steinhart told me today…mid June due to “supplier” issues. I went ahead and canceled my order and went to OLKO for the “vintage” design. Both look great. I was just tired of waiting. Nice video. Beautiful watch.
I have worn this watch for two years and still love it. It runs within 2 seconds per day. Olga at Olko was excellent to deal with and shipped it to Canada without any delay. Yes, this a homage, as is the BB Pro (which I had to see as soon as it was released). Unfortunately, the Pro looks like a hockey puck on my flat 7.5” wrist, so my Olko is here to stay. Thanks for the video, Rob.
I became aware of this Olko Steinhart several months ago when it was still in stock. Everything about it, including the price, was excellent . . . except for the date magnifier/cyclops. Just don’t like them on the crystal. I have way too many watches at the moment, so I’m trying to limit my purchases to watches where I like everything . . . but I still almost bought this watch anyway 😁😁
Steinhart makes beautiful watches at a great price. Size is perfect on your wrist. Nice offering. P.S. Legibility of that particular example is excellent. I generally don't like GMT's because I find a third hand detractors from reading the time but in this example, that doesn't apply.
Nice! I didn't know this version existed, thanks for showing us. I was checking out the normal version, but I don't like the faux patina. Could do without the cyclops, though.
Great review Rob, much appreciated. Was just about to order the vintage 39mm from Gnomon but the lume isn't as good as this one. Didn't know this model existed so going to order this one instead thanks to you. Cheers from Canada
Bought one on the olko site a few months ago and really like it. Typically high Steinhart quality and why not own a Faux-lex Cave Dweller given that the real thing, if available, would cost more than a new car?
Recommend the Steinhart Jubilee bracelet for the 39 series, esp. if you have a small wrist. The Jubilee avoids the squared off end-piece / join of the Oyster, as seen at 3:04 ... PS. Steinhart seems unwilling to budge on changing from the flat profile case, but I wish they would change out the CROWN... it is the WORST... the crown guards prevent you from getting much purchase on it, and then the stupid crown itself has a smooth flat beveled outer edge that you also cannot get a grip on.
This is a really attractive design, IMO. Don't know why Rolex would discontinue it 40 years ago. I have the Pagani homage at less than 1/4 the price and I've been happy with it. I do prefer the vintage patina colorway and the Pagani doesn't have the cyclops, YAY!
OLKO! Never owned a steinhart until I saw this olko edition last year(they shipped to US fast from germany). I know I won't pay $35,000 for a 50 yr old Rolex1655 , so like Rob wisely says, it's not a weasely re-op of a current watch. Wish the crown was a little beefier. Rob, you didn't open yours either? (thanks much for the review)
great company...its been so difficult to buy my first luxury watch (with a decent budget)...every time I have one in hand I often say "dude this is not even better than my Steinhart"...pass. Really good watches.
I’ve been wearing my 42 ceramic premium steinhart hulk way more than my Tudor , my Tudor has an extra touch to it that I love but I often think and feel the Steinharts quality is almost the same
I own Steinhart and NTH watches. You get more for the money, and spend less money, buying Steinhart watches. And Steinhart with most watches, have exhibition case backs when NTH watches never have.
be aware the one offered at Steinharts site is a 42mm "Big Block" - the Olko Steini is a 39mm - Olko also offers a 39mm "yellow" lume one without the ugly cyclops - just be patient for a few days - she relist the white lume continously - in my eyes the white one is the better looking version. Beside - own both versions for 1 resp. 2 year/s now - good quality and both running excellent at wrist and timegrapher.
I like the watch. The only thing I don’t like is steinhart’s logo. It looks like some kind of fruit. A coconut with some hair. Or Wilson from Castaway.

Solid point. Maybe I will embrace that

If Steinhart fixed their flat case back and clasp they would sell more watches. I do like this example-best offering in their catalog!

Have a small 7" wrist. With the 39mm diameter and female end links, it fits perfectly. Running at 0-2spd since I've regulated.
I just bought the Seestern Doxa homage and was just thinking that my next dive watch would be a Steinhardt.
....and Rob delivers lol.
Thanks for the heads up Rob. I will keep an eye! Finally as an European I have the advantage this time.
Black on Steele with White is really cool !
Way sexier than the BB pro imo
I see no problem with homages when the big brands do them as well like Tudor and now the Moonswatch.

Just got one of these sitting in my high street jewellers, surprised to say the least. I love it

I have a Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Red on my want list. As you said, homage of a long discontinued model.
Nice! I didn't know this version existed, thanks for showing us. I was checking out the normal version, but I don't like the faux patina. Could do without the cyclops, though.
Olko site says ’sold out’. Very nice watch.
Just ordered from Olko 🎉, can’t way, my second 39mm Steiny, I have a Starbucks and it’s a superb daily beater 😊

Might have to pick one of these up for a beater!

Probably the only Steinhart I would buy. I like the white indexes rather than the fauxtina, but that might be just me lol.
Niceone Rob , it's a great everyday beater.

really slick looking piece. Hope more come in stock!

Compared to seestern version, which one wins ?
As of right now, Olko has their fauxtina version (no cyclops) in stock on their site.
I just ordered one. How do you balance it out? What’s your link removal process? I think I’m going to swap the clasp with my ginault or2 gliding lock.
39mm or 42mm? What is better?
Thank you!

As your eyes creep past 40+ years, you'll appreciate the cyclops. Lol
Some folks complained about Chinese homage watches. Frankly speaking, Steinhart is no different because it is from Germany?
I like the watch. The only thing I don’t like is steinhart’s logo. It looks like some kind of fruit. A coconut with some hair. Or Wilson from Castaway.
Rolex do supply back catalogue watches through Tudor - Tudor Black Bay Pro
Love gmts, that's a cool one.
...and you do need a gmt!!
If it's on Random Rob, it's SOLD OUT! And, yes, it's sold out.
The cyclops on the stienhart range are terrible. Why does no one ever seem to mention this
He did?
Any interest in selling?
Does this have a rotating bezel?
No
What the awful Bland Bay new release should have been. Gorgeous, prefer the fauxtina myself 👍👍
All mine 😁😎
Nice!
💟
Would love this but it says sold out. if anybody has one they're looking to move on let me know!
Throw out the homage, is this a good watch for the money? Does Steinhart make quality watches?
Yes they do.
If Rolex and Sinn had a baby.....
