    Howboutcha Hank?
    I recently bought a grapple. I did not get the 3rd function when I got the tractor , so we ended up running hoses all the way to the rear remotes. Now it involves the use of two levers to operate but I have no issues doing it that way.
    I would have to say that a grapple is one of the most useful implements that I have.
    Your grapple looks very nice Hank. Homestead makes good stuff.
    Bummer about your little hydraulic mishap. I had something similar happen to my big John Deere over the winter when using it to plow snow. I keep forgetting that you are in Florida. Snow is actually precipitation that comes down in a different form when introduced to very cold air temperatures. 🤣🤣🤣. Just kidding Hank.
    Great video. Thanks for sharing.

    I found using a box blade with the tines down works well for an operation like this. Then use the grapple to clean up and pile it up to burn. And yes I popped a hydraulic hose doing a job like this too.

    That looks like some good equipment Hank! I’d like to get a grapple like that our grapple weighs 850lbs it works good but if your lifting a big heavy tree it just puts that much extra weight on the front of the machine.

    • @MikeDPlxztc
      @MikeDPlxztc 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah I can't believe he broke a line there on that Terrain it does irk me that tractor manufacturers can't manage to protect their hydraulic lines it could be so easily done I don't understand it anyway Hank use my trick you get a bunch of old tractor trailer mud flaps drill holes in them and wire them or tie wrap them up underneath they're tough as nails and make great Shields at a very low cost

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  4 роки тому +2

      It was one of those deals where I hit the stick just right. ...that's a good idea about the mudflaps. I'll look into that

    • @MikeDPlxztc
      @MikeDPlxztc 4 роки тому +1

      @@HamiltonvilleFarm yeah old mud flaps are really versatile if you have a stack of them you'll be finding uses for them everywhere I'm kind of Lucky in that where I work there laying around on the ground virtually by the hundreds the trailers back up onto the concrete stops which often catch the mud flaps and rip them off so I basically can pick them up for free as many as I want. Cool thing about them is they're very easy to work with you can drill holes in them or cut them to shape fairly easily they make great great floor mats also

The clamp closest to the filter is the one that failed but when reconnecting I noticed the pump housing and that pipe do not line up properly. Is this what happened to yours?

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm
