Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET or 5:30pmET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

I just wanna say, I had a stroke at age 21, and during the first 30 minutes or so, give or take, i was fully paralyzed. Not just one side of my body like they always say about strokes, no, both sides. The extent I could move was limited to my eye balls and pushing vocalizations out of my mouth without being able to even move it to form actual words. As I laid there, the primarily thought going through my head was, "Somethings not right." Over and over. But there was an overwhelming feeling of... freedom? The best way I can explain it, is all my life has been pressure and stress of having to make my own decisions. To pick and choose. To excert my will on the world. And in that time, I knew what was happening was not of my will, and it was God's will. That either I would lay there, unable to help myself, and die in my own vomit, or I'd live and be okay. But being in that position where I couldnt do anything, it was purely up to God, or chance - because I was practically atheist at the time, felt so oddly liberating. It sounds horrorifying, to think of yourself unable to move a muscle, but fully awake and aware, yet is truly was unexplainably freeing to 'not be in control' for once. For perhaps the first time in my life. I guess my point is to trust in God's will. It doesnt have to be paralyzing and scary. It can be liberating and feel really good. It took another couple years before I accepted Jesus's atonement and sacrifice for me, and gained a hardy testimony that will stay with me for life, but it can be done. Jesus, God, YHWH, whatever name you prefer --> He loves us all, and wants us to know Him, to seek Him. And Cliff does an amazing job of helping us to do exactly that. God bless you all, and Cliff. ❤

@@cosmosnature989-bs6ux the fact is unless youre a Jesus myther you believe He was a real person. So your two choices at that point are either you believe the body was stolen or He rose. The difference between us at that point is you dont believe in the super natural and I do. We have different presuppositions. But to say its just purely feelings flys in the face of the billions of people who believe in the resurrection and thw millions who have spent their lives searching for truth for thousands of years. Also if naturalists/materialists could genuinely produce His body most Christians would deconvert. Now heres my favorite part about the resurrection. His enemies existed and wouldnt want Him to truly be who He said He was. They would have looked for the body. But they never found it. We are talkinf about 2000 years ago. The tools they had to dig werent modern. So what some people try to say is the diciples not only were deranged, lunatic liers. Who went against what they believed but also apparently were some of the greatest grave robbers and hiders to have ever existed. Also they didnt have cars so they must have fashioned the best carrying system known to man at that time to not only escape with the body but not been seen. Then to top it all off when they were killed, persecuted, tortured they never thought to reveal where the body was located or to admit that they were lying for what would have been a negative net gain. Then people say oh well they just all hallucinated it. But somehow thomas literally puts His finger in the whole of His hand and just hallucinated that as well? So no not feelings. It was uncomfortable seeing you appear to lose your temper but I could see times where your son stepped in and it helped kind of help you reset. I could be way off on my thoughts and forgive me if I am. Just wanted to try to encourage you because I've seen so many of your videos and it looked like today's might have been one of those where they got to you a little bit. I know you recognize that sometimes you struggle there which is big of you to be honest about. Thank you for all of these videos and sharing all of them. I hope the next one isn't so frustrating, and for you to stay encouraged with God's help. When something strikes the depth of your being as good or evil, whether you believe in God or not, it is not you deciding if it's right or wrong. It is God working through you, speaking to your conscience. That is objective morality. But we don't all walk in lockstep to every issue of right and wrong. From that point, how you decide to handle it, or to what degree of opinion you might have on said matter of right or wrong is where moral relativism comes in.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
    Jeremiah 9:5-6
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.
    Isaiah 59:13-14
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter
    Isaiah 32:6;8
For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. But the LIBERAL DEVISETH LIBERAL THINGS; and by LIBERAL THINGS SHALL HE STAND
    Isaiah 57:4
Who are you mocking? At whom do you sneer and stick out your tongue? Are you not a brood of rebels, the offspring of liars?
    1 Samuel 15:22-23
And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For REBELLION IS AS THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

So he dances around the question and taking a stance and would rather lo9k foolish than admit when he's wrong. It's like saying that 2+2=4 but if one society says 2+2=7 well now we don't know anymore. There's no more objective truth to the answer. Maybe in 10 years 2+2=76. Simply because we can't agree. It's amazing how purposely ignorant some people will be just because of pride. They would rather look and sound foolish instead of admitting they were wrong or admitting their perspective was incorrect.

@@jasonnoble7302 Free will can not change the past, and once we are dead, free will can not change our situation. But now, we can choose. We can choose to love God, or hate God. We can choose to forgive those who have wronged us, or we can harbor bitterness. We are all born with a sin nature. When a person is saved, he receives a second nature, a spiritual nature. Everyday we choose which nature we will follow, the fleshly nature, or the Spiritual nature. Apostle Paul talks about the fleshly nature still wanting to sin, but it is waring with the spiritual nature, of those who have been born again. What matters is not that we work to stop sinning to earn a place in heaven, but that we be born again, and receive Jesus righteousness and His forgiveness. The spiritual nature does not sin, but the temporary fleshly nature does. So we do not stop sinning to be saved, but because we are saved, out of humility, and gratitude. Once believers die, we are done with the fleshly nature, we receive a new body.

But it goes farther than God just making the rules. He IS the standard of objective moral righteousness itself. Established before the beginning of time. That's what makes it such a big issue. A Christian's duty is to be a representative of that standard. Leading others in humble righteousness. Not to be confused with being the source of the standard or claiming that Christians make the rules. The reason non-believers or people who aren't that serious about Christianity get extra upset when a Christian is a hypocrite or steps out of line with God's standard is the same reason people get extra upset when a cop takes a bribe, a judge is corrupt or a priest diddles with little kids. I know that not all of my fellow atheists will agree with me on this one, and I understand why but I think in this video, we have seen an example of what happens when a fellow atheist doesn't concede that morality is objective in a debate with Christian theists and instead, they try to argue from a moral relativist perspective, namely, it will backfire on them because it's a self-defeating position by its own virtue.
I think we need to concede that one and accept that there are objectively right and wrong things, it's pointless denying it if we can't live it out and we can't, so instead let's focus on the question of whether or not God is the only possible explanation for it. Theists claim that God is the only possible explanation for the existence of objective morality, and I am challenging them on that claim, that's MY position but I agree with them that it exists.

      You -
We need to concede that there are objectively right and wrong things and it's pointless denying it if we cant live it out.
      Response -
There is no such thing as Objective Morality because we cannot live out objective morality.
      Why.?
Mankind is continually changing physically, intellectually, morally and spiritually; at one time, he is at the utmost development, and at another, he is at his lowest.
We know that man will rise and fall, expand and contract; hence, so will his moral code.
      - A person can vehemently argue that murder is wrong until he has to justify murdering.
      - A person can vehemently argue against theft until he has to justify stealing.
      - A person can vehemently argue against abortion until they have to justify getting an abortion.
      - A Priest can teach the ten commandments and return to his sacristy and break those ten commandments leaving his morality at the pulpit.
      - A man can vehemently argue against rαρξ and return home to watch rαρξ porn.
      - A man says: an act is morally wrong when you do it but morally correct when he does it.
      Paul -
". . . for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I."
Man is the master of faces.
He follows a moral code in public and becomes a monster behind closed doors.

We see this contradiction in morality happening within religion all the time; whereby, they say morality is objective until they need it to be subjective.
      Example -
      1) Chrstns say that hurting infants is objectively immoral.
      2) Until Yahweh says: dash the infants to pieces, and then it becomes morally acceptable because it was Yahweh that ordered it.

@@jackalsgate1146 There certainly is a contradiction in it for them, you're right there. In order to truly call something objectively right or wrong, it would have to be irrespective of what even God says (if there is one) because otherwise, if it all hinges on God's make-up or what God thinks and declares, then it can no longer be called 'objective', it would be subjective to God.
My idea of objective morality doesn't require a God or the belief in the existence of a God and neither does it require a lack of belief in God, it exists regardless of such a being and as a matter of fact, if God does exist, then God too would be subject to it and could choose to do an objectively right or wrong thing.
Now Christians here might say "Hey, John, God wouldn't do an ultimately wrong thing", OK, sure, they can say that but the point is he could if he wanted to. By their own admission, the God Christians believe in could be a merciless tyrant if he wanted to be but how would we know whether he was being a merciless tyrant or not if he is the one that defines this unless there is a standard outside of that being for us to gauge this by? This is where they are in a dilemma.

      Subjective Morality -
That which is defined by the individual, tribe, group, race, culture, society or nation; whereby, its beliefs may evolve and change over time.
Correct . . . there is right and wrong as a man, nation, culture, tribe, society, and race, defines right and wrong to be.
That is what makes morality subjective.
      Objective Truth (Morality) -
That which is constant and never changes throughout history whether man exists or not.
That is why morality cannot be objective cause morality has changed over time.
Subjective Morality, does not mean -
There is no right or right, and we can all do whatever we want, as Cliffe would have everyone believe.
Cliffe loves to use the term: objective morality, cause he wants to connect God, as the foundation for morality, and I find it disgustingly dishonest.

You can in fact say subjectively what is right or wrong.
There’s no contradiction between correct morality and subjective reasoning
And the existence of objective morality doesn’t necessarily entail a God
