As a British person, most scotch Eggs I eat are generally delicious, and are normally moist. Especially supermarket ones or ones from restaurants, however you are right they can be made rather dry if they are overly crumby.

As some who does like simple cooking where things are not fusions, curries and bakes made with a million herbs and spices and are overpowered by the hot peppers, scotch eggs are one of my favourites. One of the first things to note is scotch eggs are not a dish that one bakes, it is a dish that is fried so you need to soft or half boil your egg for it is going to be cooked again when it gets fried.
As far as the sausage mince, depending on your oils and where you get the mince, adding salt could be over powering for sausage mince is a mixture of both beef and pork, I get my sausage mince from the butcher and I knows he uses the pork for the fat part of the mince where it is salty enough and I may add a few turns of black cracked pepper to the mix. If you get the mince from the supermarket, I do find it a bit dry where I would add a diced onion and cracked egg to the mix, you want your mince to be sticky when you add bread crumps on top, others you can always cook a little patty of your mince and season to taste. I find if you want your scotch egg to have a bit of extra crunch it, use panko bread crumbs and I am not going to get into a debate over which oil to use unless you decide to use engine oil then we will have an issue.
This is a recipe where one can have fun with as far as flavour, people need to remember that the egg is the main part of this dish and after a night of heavy drinking one of these is better than a 3am kebab.

It is a good idea to dress up the sausage meat. The type we get in Canada is actually a bit tasteless. Adding something tomato based cuts the greasy taste. Onions are often a good idea on anything, they add a lot of taste. The sausage rolls served at my high school made me puke. I could not eat them until recently.

She is really not that kind ... Just because she has dimples and comes off a bit slow and "cute", doesn't mean she actually is. I have long said she looks like someone who can be very nasty very easily and from comments I read here, she does. Racist, going off on her commenters, animal abuse (feeding it food unfit for a dog, killing it, then getting another one to do it all over again and tirading in her comments to people saying something about that too) is probably just a small hint of what she can be like IRL. You know it's easy to portray yourself as nice and cute on screen. How many other UA-camrs and celebs aren't have proven this before her?

I think it's because she mentioned she usually makes Sausage Rolls around Christmas time, and most people enjoy a drink around Christmas. So I think that's where the comment came from, plus I think it was ultimately just a bit of banter ahah

Scotch eggs and sausage rolls are insanely good actually! Scotch eggs if you wanna kick them up, soak the egg overnight in soy sauce or new orleans crawfish/crab boil. If you think scotch eggs sound bad you are missing out on something right up there with biscuits and gravy levels of hearty breakfast. Kay failed it, but try it yourself its one of the most filling and tasty breakfasts you will have! Especially if you use maple sausage, that is the best I think.

Honestly a good sausage roll is incredible. Seasoned savory greasy sausage in a crispy puffy pastry. Dip it in honey mustard. Oh yeah. Give it to me.

Our local butchers do a honey mustard sausage roll and it's out of this world 🤤 only downside is that they usually sell out by 11 am so it's a race who gets their hands on them
Sausage rolls are the best. A good sausage roll doesn't need sauce though, but it's always a great addition to have nonetheless. As an Australia it's gotta be tomato sauce spread on top with it though, maybe BBQ sauce if you're at a children's party with party sausage rolls and pies with bowls of sauce to dip in.

It's mostly personal preference, but usually where I'm from, they aren't runny
Scotch eggs are great. Don't 'hard' boil the eggs, make them to like Japanese ramen egg doneness, make sure your sausage has an appropriate amount of fat in it, and I use panko and make the coating like I do with katsu. It turns out amazing.
Not often binge watch older videos from a year-2 years ago on something and that very day get a whole new fresh video I love these and been playing them on repeat at this point just cause Kay seems so incredibly sweet at heart ❤

your channel got suggested to me and so I found her videos and channel through you so thank you for that, and I actually really love Kay's videos and how raw they are. I dont think her recipes are monstrous, and she makes a lot of people happy.
I've had a few Scotch Eggs. I think the best one I had was at the Texas Ren Fair. I was left in the vicinity of one of the stands while my ex and her friend went a bit away to a shop. I was happy just draining beer bottles and talking to the vendors (Note: A lot of those people are a wealth of information about their goods and their place in history. Wonderful folks to converse with. ) and one of the girls presented me with a half of hers as I never had one. I ended up ordering two more of them. Great drinking nibbles.
Kay is such a sweetheart. I'd never eat her food but she's precious in her own way.
As a pretty recent subscriber of August, I immediately became a fan of these cooking videos. I've already binged all of the Kay and Jack ones. I was so happy to see a new video in my feed.
I think their accents are about as far as you can get from understandable to an American without actually speaking a foreign language.
When you scroll through a UA-cam feed on your phone, videos automatically start playing in a silent mode. If you put your phone down and walk away, it will watch the whole thing, despite you not looking.
She has the ability to manipulate space and time yet she chooses to use her powers to discover new forms of human experimentation she only performs on herself and her willing son. Thank you Kay for sparing us.

@@braxtondavis393 I developed the allergy in my teens, so I know what I'm missing. But at least I had 15 years' worth of eggs. And egg replacements are getting better, like Just Egg is pretty good.

I think it’s all of the reaction videos by other UA-camrs. Some of them have some educational content about what she is doing wrong but most of them are just making fun of her cooking or raging about it. It has made her a laughing stock of foodie UA-cam and is pretty much bullying at this point and that can not be good for your mental health.

You should try making both of these. I made scotch eggs in culinary school and they are delicious with soft boiled eggs and when made properly. It’s like a ball of breakfast.
I am from USofA and I have tried and I love Scotch Eggs. And yes, you gotta do it very specifically. It’s not as dry as you think when the yolk is still kinda soft and you can dip it in honey mustard for extra j u i c e. That restaurant that The Kid LAROI accidentally stiffed after a concert in MO sells them. Super expensive there but REALLY good.

A pub nearby is pretty decent for food, and it does a scotch egg where the interior is still runny, chorizo is used in the sausage meat and it's well seasoned. If done correctly, it can be remarkably good.
3:19 Pre-packaged sausage mince has typically already been seasoned with salt to begin with, among other possible spices or herbs. I don't know what brand she specifically has but it doesn't necessarily need any additional seasoning to taste good. And I wholeheartedly disagree that you need to even season every dish with salt as you cook it or even serve it, some food can taste great without added salt or seasoning.
The sausage meat we have in Canada is rather tasteless.

Brit here, local to Kay. I can confirm that Scotch Eggs are without a doubt the driest food on earth, its not awful but ive had a few and that was enough. Also its bland as shit.

I made scotch eggs once. They came out exactly how you described it. Camera probably took a hit from being next to an electric stove on full heat too long in a video.
Scotch eggs are lovely. Crispy shell, savoury sausage mantly and a nice, gooey soft bouled egg in the middle. Mass-made ones are dry but home made ones can be a joy.
