Dr. Long is a great dog trainer in his on right. I watched him pen some cattle with 3 border collies at TAMU College Vet. Medicine years ago. He's a great dog man.
My curr would love to do this to our pigs, we don't have any cattle. Our black mouth curr was abandoned at a local flea market and we took him home with us.
I have a calahoula, and I feel guilty not letting him heard cattle,he just came up to my house one day,If I thought he could be a good hearder at 3 yrs old ,and a good home,I would let him go to do what he is borrn to do,but I sure love him
@@TedH71 ,I have a Calahoula, that just came to my house one day,I have raised her, She is leopard black, Louisiana state dog,Now I live in The,She is basically a hearding dog, from what I have read, very high energy and should be on a ranch, but I have kept her, she is different from my Lab,which is sweet, I have raised her with my dalmatian mix I have about her age both about 7 now, several times she has attacked my dalmatian, but they get along now, one time I tried to break them up and got 9 puncure wombs on my arm.they are okay now but she grawls sometimes, I have to tell her no,She has Amber eyes, personally,I prefer a lab,but I could not bring myself to let her go,I give her alot of exercise, and she can run,I red she is mixed with Greyhound, and several other, but her background does have redwolf, she is a stock dog and she does have part black mouth, just a tid bit,
I meant to say I live in Tennessee, also she has some paws on her I read , In Louisiana where they are the state dog,They use them to going. The swamps to get the cattle out and, also some use them to hunt wild hogs ,what they were originally bred for,but now I read ranches all over the country use them as cattle dogs ,herding and they are very good,As for a pet in town where I live ,alot of exercise is needed

Gee wizz. 4 dogs and two horsemen to Hurd about a dozen head of cattle. One or two good old Australian Kelpies would have done this job on their ear.
Seriously ? ... get a Blue Heeler, mate !
I prefer Catahoulas
2Hawgdawgs I think a black mouth cur is a type of catahoul
