Moving Herd of Cattle Over 4 Miles with 3 Hangin Tree Cowdogs - Dagley Ranch Life Episode 10

- Annie, Latigo, and Reata are registered Hangin Tree Cowdogs.
Here they are helping us move a herd of cows over 4 miles to fresh pasture.
The lame cow you see in the video was brought near to the home place where we were able to sort it off and take it down to the home corral for special care. We are always actively looking through our herd for cattle that need help. Sometimes it’s just ice or mud between their toes other times it’s foot rot and they need treatment.

These dogs are truly priceless!!!
If only they could open gates they’d beat half these hands out there
It’s like watching art in motion.
This are not dogs
Lol
@@mssshaju1067Right Short cowboys.
I love that he included scripture in the video. Blessings to your ranch, cows, dogs and family. God bless the farmers and ranchers that provide food for us through very hard work.
Bless them!
🙏
Good dogs....well trained and managed. A joy to watch. We are not farmers but fond of dogs. God bless from Northern Ireland.
Best cow herding demo I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing. And your narration is excellent as well. Dogs are only as smart as their leaders, soooo great job men!
Watching these dogs work is always amazing to me.
G'day, good to see a rancher doing it the old way instead of 4x4's and motorbikes, i only do it by horseback on my place thanks for sharing.
Don't want to spook them too much the motorcycle is too loud Oh, and it just scare nature is nice to do it on Horseback if you can
When it first started I was afraid he was going to herd them with a helicopter! Massive relief when I saw it was just a drone. lol
Horseback is more fun, and definitely much better for the environment than a bunch of vehicles.
I love watching your dogs work and appreciate your commentary. Well done.👍🏻
I could watch for hours..the scripture recitation was a great addition.
As a child we had a collie dog names chief. My dad would tell him go bring the cows and by the time dad had the milk buckets ready and was walking to the barn here come the cows. Chief looked like lassie. I think we only had six milk cows.
Our Collie was the same....we had at 20 milkers. And he loved to heard everything, right down to the chickens.
It is so cool watching dogs do this and do it well these kind of videos never get old to me thank you for sharing this move.
WOW.....WOW....WOW........THESE DOGS KNOW THEIR JOB!!!!!!!
I am so impressed with your animals, cows and dogs. Cows are quiet and manageable, and the dogs are first class. Good training invested I these dogs, and it shows. Thank you so much for sharing, I love to watch cattle being herded especially with the drone work. Now I am going to watch it again. 😊🇨🇦
Amazing how the dogs work as a team. Bless God creatures big & small.
Its mind blowing to see them in action. What incredible dogs!
I love to see dogs doing what they are bred to do and loving every minute of it!
Your Blessed to have the dogs that you work cattle with. God Bless!

This is both amazing and beautiful. Thank you for showing the everyday person how you do this. Fabulously trained dogs.
Watching this vid was oddly satisfying. The pups having fun and the cows following their lead, to their ultimate reward...food.

YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified/Pierced for our sins and “HERE IS THE PROOF”
From the Ancient Egyptian Semitic:
"Yad He Vav He" is what Moshe (Moses) wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3)
Ancient Egyptian Semitic Direct Translation
Yad - "Behold The Hand"
He - "Behold the Breath"
Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
Good stuff! You can tell that your pups work because they love the work. I've seen some working and hunting dogs that work because they have to. Your excellent training and care shows in their work.
Thanks for making this video! I know it takes time and effort to do this so I just wanted to say Kudos.

Thanks for posting this. You did a great job explaining and the fast forwards were fun to watch. The dogs did a great job. Appreciate the scripture. God bless your family.
Love watching this God bless you and your dogs and cows.
They work so hard, such amazing dogs and owners.
Wow, the dogs are amazing & the aerial view emphasized the huge task they were performing. Thanks for sharing
Your three dogs do an awesome job. There are few things as pleasing as it is to watch dogs working, like your dogs do or every good hunting dog. Thanks for this video!
Thanks for sharing the Scripture and these dogs working
I haven't had an opportunity to see working dogs from a drone view. I don't know anything but to me your dogs were very impressive. I owned a miniature Aussie, when he was young he would try to herd me! It was funny. He was the smartest dog I ever owned and never a problem with people or animals.
The dogs are turbocharged 😂
I get that this is probably a hard life, but something about this seems like it would be so satisfying when getting home at the end of the day. My grandfather was a cattle rancher, and I'm envious of this lifestyle.
Great video, amazing dogs. When you speed up the video in the beginning, it’s amazing to see your cattle dog running back and forth behind the cattle to keep them in line.
That one cows limping really damn bad.
Yes, she was brought closer to the home place, and then we sorted her off for special care and to be treated for foot rot.
That was so cute and relaxing! Thank you for sharing!
*Dagley Ranch* Stunning absolutely stunning, dogs of this caliber are rare. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along. God Bless.
There is nothing more beautiful than watching herd dog do their job
Dogs on a mission. What a good life.
These cow dog's did a marvelous JOB!!! Goodness they were so fast and worked so well together. Good training dad...and thanking them and telling them by name and saying "good job" is the most important part of the day for them. They know it too. God's blessings to you all and loved the drone view for sure.
Awesome move!!! I know your dogs are very well taken care of. Very rewarding 👍👍💪🇺🇸🙏

As a city dog and critter lover in general watching your dogs from above was Awesome and fascinating , thanks for posting.
Really beautiful u should be having your own show
Love to see how YOUR dogs bring up the cattle.
Just saw a video of Apache cowboy.
He had to move 1 bull.
There were at least 7 people involved who all were shouting and yelling.
They threw a lasso over the horns of the bull and pulled him thru the passage way up to the truck.
All were out of breath.
You keep calm and your dog's are calm.
God bless you and your dogs
We have a young Aussie 18 months old. He’s not a working dog, just our pet. First time he ever saw cattle we were out camping on BLM land and a bunch of cattle were scattered around the camp. He went out and gathered them all up in a bunch and moved them off a distance as a group. Amazing to watch as he wasn’t directed, and he’d never seen the beasts before. He was very excited! Of course we called him off, and he mostly ignored the cows after that.
I am sure you saw the limping cow at the rear. After the move - what did you find was the problem? And what resulted?
Your dogs are fabulous. At first I was worried because Annie kept at after the limping cow. Then I realized - she would not let the cow lag behind, and perhaps be lost. Good dog!
Yes, she was brought closer to the home place, and then we sorted her off for special care and to be treated for foot rot.

That is good. Hope she made it, it was a tough trip, but the only other option was to put her down. Well done.
Wow, that is just amazing. I've never seen anything like that before. Great dogs.
Truly beautiful! Great dogs... and cattlemen! Nice looking winter pasture, too! Ez 34,14
Man oh man it sure looks mighty cold there! Great video and awesome dogs, greetings from a sunny South Africa 🌍
Your dogs and cattle are a blessing to watch. The love you have for them is so evident. Thanks for sharing these wonderful glimpses into the life of cattle ranchers.
Wow this was so awesome to watch you sound like a great dog dad and person
They r so very smart. Absolutely exceptional dogs. They literally work in unison together. It looks so natural to them. EXCELLENT job!! Wouldn't trade them for the world.
Wow!! Your dogs are amazing. They take their job seriously and make due no cow left behind.
I really enjoy watching the dogs work. Sad to see a cow crippled some in that weather. Was it a foot problem or leg?
It was a foot problem. She gets sorted off for special care.
That was amazing man what helpers GOD has given you
I loved seeing how the dogs kept the cattle moving quietly and calmly. Good work
Just fantastic to see this! What an awesome team you all are, and what a grand adventurous life.

Each doggie needs a Monument put up for each of them! Just unbelievable!!!
Amazing seeing this work, beautifully shot as well. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful dogs! Can't slow my cattle dog down and you can see why! Cattle in great shape too! I see you took care of the lame one. Nice to see well cared for animals.
That was truly beautiful to watch! I don't know cattle, but I know dogs, and those are mighty fine dogs.
This brings to mind how in Genesis God gave dominion over the creatures of the field to steward over them. You are a fine steward of these dogs and cattle as well as a gentle, faithful servant unto the Lord. Thanks for sharing.
Really is amazing seeing these dogs doing what their bred to do 💜
A good dog can be priceless but a bad dog is miserable ! The cows look in great shape to be going into a cold winter and calving. Good luck.
That is just awesome watching them work all on their own. You trained them well.
That was beautiful!! I love your dogs
Love to see those snowy backs, moving slow and steady. Great job!
Amazing dogs. They are the stars of this show.
The camera work was great too
Alle arbeiten hart und machen einen guten Job ;) ! Das Ergebnis einer langen Zusammenarbeit.👍
Awesome footage and commentary! Love seeing your dogs work. Do you use dogs to watch the cattle at night?
It is absolutely amazing to watch these dogs do what they love. They are fantastic! That was amazing to travel that far and not lose one cow.
Great video. I was in Mauritania 🇲🇷 W. Africa. The people there are amazing herdsmen. I saw a young teen with nothing but a long stick in his hand and maybe 300 sheep 🐑 following him through the streets and traffic. So many more stories about what I witnessed.
I feel sorry for the lame cow that tries to separate out. She is painful, and knows it will be a long walk. The dogs are amazing!
Working ranch with working dogs. a real treat to watch TY 4 sharing
Those dogs are well trained . Lots of work and dedication to the dogs training. Good work.
Not sure how I got here but that was fantastic. 👍
Wow Amazing. I love Dog's. My favorite animal on this planet. Man's best friend for sure. I hunt and have a Lab. The work he does for me in the field melts my heart. This goes for ALL DOG'S wether your utilizing them for hunting hearding sniffing out threats guiding the blind they are by far one of the greatest creatures that GOD has created for us.
Dogs: I don't know which God invented first: A dog or boy but I know that a dog was made to be with a boy and a boy was made to be with a dog
Amen!
Well trained dogs. Wonderful to watch. But, what the hell is a Hanging Tree Cowdog? Asilly question from Germany?
dagleyranch.com/what-is-a-hangin-tree-cowdog/
The History of the Hangin Tree Cowdog Breed
Hangin’ Tree Cowdogs all trace back to Gary Ericsson and his son Choc’s cow dogs. Over his lifetime, Gary bred the best cow dogs he could find, creating the Hangin Tree Cowdog breed.
The four breeds he used were:
3/8 Border Collie for their intense herding instinct and intelligence.
1/8 Catahoula for the ability to trail and find cattle, and for their toughness and slick hair coat.
1/4 Kelpie for endurance, herding instinct, and short hair.
And 1/4 Australian Shepherd.
The only Australian Shepherd used in his breed was a dog named Hangin Tree Black Bear. Bear was a super dog with courage and ability to handle any kind of cattle.
Gary named the breed the Hangin Tree Cowdog, after the name of his ranch.
It’s a dog breed, look it up on Google😀

The drone vantage point is without a doubt a great feature to your video, your commentary throughout is on queue and truly adds to explain what all is happening before our very eyes, but the true awe to it all is the work you do with those dogs!! beautiful work specially in that inclement weather! Thank you!! and God Bless you and your operation! truly magnificent!
Молодцы собаки!! Все стадо коров в кулаке держат!!

This is such an excellent video! Love this channel!
Beautiful work by the dogs and Annie especially, i wonder how much further the dogs run in relation to the distance the herd is moved?
Annie was getting after them, quickly and seemingly tireless.
Wow those are some good dogs and good looking cattle to thanks for the excellent video good job guys
Beautiful!! What a joy to watch good dogs work. Something that a lot of folks miss is how much they truly love their job as well. Working hard at it and pleasing their human companions.. You are a great companion Sir..
Wonderful video thanks for posting
Beautiful video, enjoyed watching.
Great video and thanks for sharing the word of God. Amen
Wonderful dogs. Cattle also know their business.
Amazing footage, amazing dogs!
This is an absolutely awesome video! I just found out about this breed of dog and they’re absolutely amazing dogs!
I did just want to comment, which I’m sure you are already fully aware of, it looked like one of your cows might have been lame, it was something that caught my eye kinda quick as I’ve grown up around em.
Anyway! Beautiful video, amazing drone and camera work, and you’ve got some INCREDIBLE dogs! They’re such an awesome, intense and gritty breed and I’m so great full I now know about them and get to watch them do what they were bred too do, and do it incredibly well!! Thank you!!
As the owner of 2 Border Collies, I am completely impressed with your dogs, Great job and thanks for sharing.
Its a pleasure to see those dogs doing the job they love ,, these dogs should be banned for pet homes ..
I so agree with you. Border collies and blue heelers are extremely intelligent dogs and need challenges. The only way I would see them as a pet is if the owner creates challenges such as obstacle course tournaments to exercise their remarkable intellect
@@nrw7734 my ex had a kelpie and although she did allot whit the dog every body would have seen that the needed more .. sheeps ... but she was brilliant whit the pups i bred lol
