Barbie, you are so right, you can not clean and make a house new again no matter how much you do. The important thing is it is clean and livable again. Most of us would have looked at that bathroom and ran out the door, including me. You are an amazingly strong woman and your cleaning is hard cleaning, not just throwing some things away and making it shiny again. The only thing I can fault you on is always picking faults with yourself! Be kind to yourself as you are with others - you are doing a fantastic thing here. I had not seen the one with the person living with bipolar before. Some people really struggle more than others with this condition. He is one of the unfortunate ones who’s life it affects really badly - others can live very good and productive lives - I hope he can reach that in his life in the future. This video was great. I like how you cleaned as much as you could - it doesn’t like look new due to the mounds of garbage that was on it and the consequences of months/years of neglect. But now in each case repairs can happen which were not possible before. You have given each house a new lease on life with your cleaning gifts/talent. God bless you.

I think if I was a landlord, I would want to drop by for periodic visits. When my brother and sis-in-law got married in Syracuse, their landlord would make an appt. and drop by for a visit once a month for quite a while. My sis-in-law was an excellent housekeeper, so she didn’t mind. They would have coffee and a snack.
It is a home this man can enjoy now. You are wonderful for showing him respect!

Barbie, in the first bathroom you cleaned you should be aware that the subway tile you were cleaning was from the art deco period in America, 1920's-1930's. I know as everything looks just like my old bathroom from my house in Philadelphia. Literally identical, had to be the same builders. No way you would have ever cleaned that tile or tub. Luckily ours was in great condition. When I sold my house 10 years ago it was perfect all but yellowing grout. You don't give up at all. Great job as always.

I had an issue with my faucet like that years ago. It ended up being some type of washer on the inside of the handle. Maintenance let me watched as they replaced it. It was stripped so it wasn’t getting a tight enough grip to close the water off. Just in case anyone has this issue! It can be a simple fix if you test that first! ❤️
I commend you for being so compassionate and doing the best job that you can. Seeing the obstacles that you had to overcome you did a really great job.

I got tired just watching you work,I use to be a janitor,that kind of work can really keep you in shape, it's a workout, better than going to the gym,great way to make a living,you work by yourself,nobody bothers you,and you are your own boss.

I feel so sad for the family whose mother died. It was the apartment that had virtually no furniture. I live in the Midwest but if I was out their way I would donate some furnishings that I do not need. I pray that life gives them a break.

Ps..you did such a great job on house #2..the one thats a hour & 30 mins in needs to declutter badly!Thats what helped me. I still have a lot to go.Less stuff less mess.Freed up space frees head space too.I can breathe so much better. Seems like alot of these places have cats..this one was ornery. She had so much stuff in that apartment it made me feel overwhelmed..you handled it very well! And the 2nd place with all of the mice & bugs you handled great as well. I personally wouldn't of been able to do it. You're doing a great job Barbie. And definitely wear gloves..you never know whats there. Especially with mice droppings & urine

That stove has to be from the 1950s, amazing that it still works. That was quite a job, at my age it would be overwhelming to face that much havoc, but I would have tacked it when I was in my 30s or 40s.
Things were built to last a lifetime then. Big ticket items like stoves, 'fridges and freezers. In my apartment my'fridge is from the 50s and still works perfectly. Others that have newer appliances are constantly having them replaced after a couple of years.
You are amazingly brave to clean a mess that would leave me feeling overwhelmed ❤ To me it looks like the cat wants to play.

My bipolar friend moved in with me during the pandemic because he was teetering on homelessness. When he left, this is pretty much what my home looked like. He did at least 70K$ of damage to my home…. I use your videos for inspiration when cleaning up the mess.

I usually don't comment on anything because it's not worth commenting on but I really appreciate your first clean here. It reminds me of my dad's house. He always worked outside and he just was comfortable in dirt and disorganization but he deserves for someone to clean for him at times too. it isn't our place to judge a person. many of these people are very poor and they haven't known another way to live so to them this will be the best clean they have ever seen and so refreshing!
