    I'm considering getting one of these or the Lectric XP 3.0. I have an Aventon Aventure as my first ebike and it's great for riding around the city. My old car used to be able to carry my Aventure around with no problems, but since I got a different car, I can't carry my Aventure around as I used to. A smaller bike like the Engwe would be perfect as it can fit in the back seat of my car. That will allow me to go trail riding and not be restricted to the area in which I live.

    Technically, I think you could get it to go faster, if you wanted. In the detailed settings, it looks like you can change the limited speed based on the controller manual on their web site. I’m not sure if you can change it for the throttle specifically, but what you definitely could do is set the wheel diameter lower. The speedometer would no longer be accurate, but what it thinks is 20 mph could actually be 28. Looks like a nice bike, that rear rack is a lot beefier than the one on the EP-2 Pro.

    Being a pure class 3 will hurt sales. People like throttle to 28. Good bike for conditioning like Lectrics xpremium. 🥵

    Nice eBike for RV'ing and vehicle transporting with the fold capability. 74Nm torque performed better than I expected on the hill test. I liked that rear suspension. Would make a good choice for first timer in the eBike world for sure.

    Great review Russ as always, one thing that does concern me, Will they be adding More electronics akin to a motor vehicle, like where we have to go plug into a computer to fault find, that would be pushing beyond the the limit so to speak 😆 The itergrated batteries are already an issue, where as you have to buy their battery, unless your like me and can rig up a totally different battery to a rear rack, like i did on my first ever E-bike the Samebike Lo26 M-nine, i still have that bike but the original battery was toast within 110 miles, the replacement cost 209 Pounds UK, I popped a 20ah battery on a rear rack( for a little less) with an xT 60 connector replacement to the controller , she goes miles and miles now, more than the original 10ah battery, still have the Samebike original 500w motor, i still love that bike as my late Mother helped me buy it.

    PS I went and looked at their website. It calls it a plush, ergonomic seat. Looks nice. The bikes come in nice colors too. I like that. I got out yesterday to ride. It was a bit chilly but wonderful to get out.

    I see this bike brand a lot in my neck of the woods. My legs are long. I opted away from the 20x4" types. Funny...a pack of bikes will go by and I don't even look at the people...just the bikes.

  • @Marilynlovesebiking

    I love the fat tires and the look with the back rack. I used to not like this style of ebike but it is growing on me. Having the mag wheels is excellent. I like that. I would not personally buy a torque sensor bike. I hope lots of folks get it via your link and get the discount. Seems like you get a lot of bike for the money. Great review Russ.

    Personally, much rather prefer beefy sounding horn over Loud bell or high-pitched, tinny sounding horn. If the horn can make people REACT, it's a job well-done!...Stay Safe, Ride Safer, Russ

    Do you have to peddle the whole time with the torque sensor.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  Місяць тому

      No. You can use the throttle if you don’t want to pedal.

  • @bennyhill4228
    @bennyhill4228 2 місяці тому +1

    Regarding Bells, i think as long as the pedestrian does not get spooked by the bell, they stay in their so called lane, you blast an e-bike horn and they jump all over the place, bells are good horns no lol...Edit just to add the " DING DING " bells are ok, but the old type lever bells where it would go more like " Ca-ching a-ling" were and still are miles better imo. Ebike Horn for Road traffic, for Pedestrians a bell will suffice, unless you like testing your Hydraulic brakes after scaring the be Jesus out of them from behind .

    A "true" Class 3 ebike does not have a throttle. 22 states have now adopted the Department of Transportation's definition of a Class 3 ebike as:
    "Class 3 electric bicycle" shall mean an electric bicycle equipped with a
    motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and that ceases to provide assistance
    when the bicycle reaches the speed of 28 miles per hour.
    Other states could vary from this definition but the trend is that more states are adopting this definition.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 місяці тому +1

      Our area says a throttle is ok for class 3 as long as it stops at 20 mph. To me, if you pedal or throttle, 28 mph is 28 mph. Who cares how it gets there?! Oh well, laws are just strange sometimes.

    My friend walks to work at night and home so I was trying to find an e bike to buy that isn’t to expensive. What one is better e bike or e scooter moped? She needs someone to care about her and I care about people

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 місяці тому

      Well, a scooter is a bit more dangerous in that these are very small tires. If you hit a pothole or anything like a rock or stick, it could make you fall. Less of this kind of chance with 20" tires. But of course, ebikes have their own dangers as well. She should be a good rider of a standard bicycle first because those skills are still needed to ride. In general, I think the ebike is an easier ride for many people who need transportation at night.

    • @RussIsRight

      Keep in mind too that while this Engine Pro 2.0 is a good buy, a less expensive option is the EP=2 Pro. Check it out on their website: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1787362&u=3238576&m=111433&urllink=&afftrack= Also, my review of that bike is here: ua-cam.com/video/h-r2lDjH8kM/v-deo.html

      It won't let me post a picture of it but it's pretty cool and I also have some Xtreme scooter e-bikes that need batteries and I know how to fix them now you can actually use cordless drill batteries that's what I use to power my original e-bike the original the first
