I am SO happy to hear aa reference to Ratzdeezer in the year 2023 For reference, it was a conversation he was having in Skype with catz where he repeated "how mad you are? How mad you are son?"
00:49 "Delusion" is the word, my man! I see it commonly in my personal and professional rummagings. Love your content. It gives mankind hope. Please keep doing what you are doing, sir. Love from the Kingdom United
Urgh. This is bringing back memories of times on ladder I've met people who just pause the game without warning in the middle of micro-intensive fights. It throws me off *so* badly,, and is one of the few things in game that really does get me legitimately salty.
It's a bit jolting, this is one of the lowest moves though. Your opponent is truly desperate for victory and willing to do ANYTHING to get it if they do this. Unpause as needed and F em up! Gl mate
Honestly pausing is not against the rule is it? I’d say that’s about hundred times less toxic than pro players smurfing to troll the shit out of plebs for instance
@@jkkim6928 one is a direct waste of time, the other is dishonest. The useless pause imo is more destructive because there's no benefit to anyone, even the pauser. Especially for folks like myself who only have 1.5 - 2 hours max a week to ladder
@@hentaidude666 There is *absolutely* a benefit. Like PiG says, it jolts you. Especially if you get into a flow state while playing. Like, an unexpected pause at the right time knocks me right out of the game, and I go from 'cast, kite units back, another cast, split units to avoid AoE, take half a second to queue units back home, send a second army group to do some harass, back to the battle...' to 'let my casters walk up to the enemy, clump everything up in easy baneling radius, forget half my abilities, bank a bunch of resources because I'm busy trying to save what's left of my army, run my harassment straight into a widow mine, panic'. I'm sure it doesn't work as well on everyone as it does on me, but to take a simple example, imagine you're microing a reaper at the beginning of a game. It only takes a fairly small hiccup in your micro to make the difference between killing a couple of workers and escaping, and getting your reaper killed for no value. A well-timed pause at the right moment can very easily cause that hiccup. It's abusing the pause mechanic in a way it's very much not intended to be used, and (to me) the fact that it's not *technically* breaking the rules kind of makes it worse. Genuinely, I prefer playing smurfs. I'd even prefer to play a maphacker*. Because at least then I can still play the best game *I* can play. Even if I lose horribly before the five minute mark. Whatever cheese or harassment or sewer mermaid shenanigans my opponent might do, however skilled they are, whatever unfair advantage they might have, none of it stops me playing out the game to the best of my own limited abilities. Pausing like that *does*, which is why I find it so incredibly frustrating. *I've only ever faced one person who I absolutely know was maphacking. And I'm only certain about that one because he started commenting on my build order over chat.
Hey Pig answer to your question at the beginning of the vod. 2700-3k mmr on NA ladder. I'm typically around 3200 mmr but whenever I don't play for awhile and my mmr drops below 3k it's almost all cheese builds and tons of salt lords haha.
I'm wondering if it is a similar curve to an inverted Dunning Kruger effect. Low MMR and high MMR = small amounts of salt. Medium MMR = high amounts of salt.
Low Ranks: Low Skill, Low Ego Mid Ranks: Newfound skills/understanding, Huge Ego High Ranks: Perfecting the craft, Shedding Ego Most games I feel like diamond rank is the epitome of ego
this is why you use Widow Mines to zone out the Protoss. Also, the Protoss was an idiot for just spamming Stalkers. I'll roast both of them. The Terran was a f*cking idiot for not getting Mines and Liberators.
I think the Protoss floating 1000+ minerals from 5 minutes to the end of the game was a bigger issue. That said, if the Protoss spent their money and built better units, they'd have way more MMR and we'd've needed someone else to fight this guy and submit the replay.
It's hard to say where the most rage is because I've been around the same MMR a while so have no comparisons, but I think when I was learning the most BM seemed to be around gold/plat level.
Diamond for sure. The reason is that people have to have a general understanding of the game and what is considered a good / bad strategy to get to diamond. But the problem is we're in Diamond so we still suck. So it's a very dangerous combination because people know what's going on and actually care about the game but aren't high enough level where they've actually acknowledged their weaknesses / have gotten good enough to know how to deal with unusual stuff.
That first game was frustrating to watch, with how the Terran just never fully comitted and grievously neglected his macro. There were several opportunities where he could have straight up ended the game and decided to.... not do that.

Regarding the question of where rage is most common: between drunk nights, tiltfest losing streaks, racedodging and laddering a new account, I have dipped my toes several times in the last year in the slightly lower leagues like Diamond 3 and Diamond 2. And comparing the players there to the ones in Masters 2 and Masters 1, there is definitely a difference. Rage from a Diamond 3 player is ignorant and somewhat childish, but rather innocent and benign. This seems to come from them simply having frustrations with the learning process. Rage from a Master 1 player is absolutely vicious, cruel, hateful and disturbing. There are a handful of regulars, these barcodes and smurfs on EU, who apparently have nothing going on in their lives, and so they are way too good at SC2 and way too bad at being people. They spill out all their bitterness online and bully other players.
