Informative. But here is my issue. We bought the car from 3rd party dealer with this lock. The car was imported from another country. And this secondary screen asks for pin wich i dont know. I can drive the car, but can not access multimedia. I can not contact previous owner and bmw support has no idea how to remove this lock. Any ideas?
I'd try doing a factory reset if you can, if not. You may have to contact your BMW Dealer and have them make you the new primary user for the vehicle. You may also be able to call BMW and do this.
Great video! Quick question please. I purchased 2023 230i xdrive from an auction with this valet parking mode activated. I couldn’t deactivate it no matter what (ISTA, myBMW app, new positive battery cable). Is my only option go to my local dealership? Thank you!
I would contact the local dealer or call BMW Assist. You need to have one of them make you the new primary owner of the vehicle through the back end portal and proceed there after.
If you simply turn the car off the infotainment screen pops up some options. One of them is to active valet parking mode. You are unable to take remote pictures around the car if it is enabled though, which seems... counter intuitive.
Good point! Yes valet mode also pops up at the end which can be very convenient for some. I'm sure they prevent that since you lock up your profile and settings.
My brand new x7 m60 was delivered with many paint imperfections and 2 gouges in the hood. Is this a common issue with bmw upon delivery. Please do video to address this topic.
If it’s a brand new x7 I would have your dealer file a claim with bmw. Brand new BMWs should come pretty spotless if not have it reported through the dealer.
But is it common for new bmws to be delivered with paint imperfections? Honestly. I’ve addressed the gouges with the dealer and it didn’t go well. Bowling Green BMW, Bowling Green Kentucky.
@@cw6360 Not common, I've been around for 4 years and 95% of the time the cars come pretty perfect. If there was any transportation damage or such the dealer IMO should submit a claim to BMW. I would also try reaching out to BMW directly somehow and let them know.
You mentioned needing to readjust your seat when you get back into the car. After my husband drives, I need to do the same thing by pushing the #1 seat adjustment button on the door (I am the primary driver). I keep thinking that the car - 2023 I4 M50 - should do that automatically given that my key activates my profile and that my seat position would be connected to my profile. Is there a setting I am missing or is pushing the button on the door for my preferences the only choice?
Two different profiles have to be setup with two different keys. It can switch back and forth automatically only between the two profiles. If only using your key or your profile it'll just stay the way it was left last.
So, it should switch automatically? I have been needing to push the button on the door each time I get in (using my key) after my husband drove the car with his profile the night before. Do you have any idea why the seat isn’t moving automatically? Is there a setting I haven’t found?
@@Crisman111 if you have the new idrive 8 like the one in the video that should have a seat setting menu option that could have a setting in it. You could also try re linking the keys to the designated profiles.
I don't believe the mode limits the speed. Sometimes it could be a problem if the valet driver for whatever reason needed additional power to get out a situation.
You could if you want, if it's not going to be for a long period of time you don't have to, don't leave the key card inside because someone may not know how to use it. You should leave only your key fob inside if someone else is going to be driving the vehicle.
Can you activate valet parking mode from your phone thru the bmw app ?? and also how can you control your bmw from someone stealing it can you lock it and prevent them from turning it on or thats not possible at all ?
@@BeamerView How can you add it to shortcuts? I call up valet parking mode under system settings and hold it down which normally would give option to add shortcut. Doesn't happen with Valet Parking Mode. Also, when trying to use voice commands/personal assistant to activate valet parking mode it will only bring up navigation destinations with valet in the name. Same thing if using voice command to "add valet parking to shortcuts".
Not sure if they did an update that got rid of it. You could check the menu item called "personalize menu" it is located where you would find the spotify in idrive. You may have to check it back on.
@@BeamerView thank you for replying, i did that but its not there, i called bmw and i have to renew my idrive e sim for another year, seems thats a rookie mistake its my first bmw but now i want a M4 xdrive. Thank you, i love your videos, keep up the good work
The new fobs are horrible as opposed to cool. Larger, shiney plastic, shows fingerprints and the ring to put a keychain in is too small. Otherwise good vid.

So does valet mode also limit the speed, as well as the driving modes??

Can you activate the Valet Parking Mode via voice assist?
Haven't tried that one yet, one trick is to set valet mode as a shortcut in the shortcuts menu.

Hi, by any chance do you know why the spotify icon could disappear from the i drive screen? Its a 330i 2020

What to do if I forgot PIN number or all PIN numbers don’t work?
Try rebooting the idrive system by holding down the volume button for 30 secs with the engine on.
This was very helpful thank🙏🏼
You’re welcome 😊
I’m not a fan of letting others drive my BMW…but it’s good information just in case the situation arises…
Agreed, people these days are quite careless when driving other peoples vehicles.
The new fobs are horrible as opposed to cool. Larger, shiney plastic, shows fingerprints and the ring to put a keychain in is too small. Otherwise good vid.
People are not fans of the new key fobs and I don’t really blame them. I think the blade style key fob for Bmw was the best ever.
Thank you very much
Any time
Why cant I give a valet the keycard?
Good chance they are not going to know how to operate it.
Wouldn’t the keycard still allow valets access to your settings?
@@Crisman111 It should not, once you activate it then it requires a pin code to access the settings.
your name is Dipesh. Are you an Indian?
