I made the sour cherry pie for Thanksgiving and everyone raved and raved! And I made the pumpkin swirl cheesecake. Thankyou MS for spectacular recipees all these years been following your baking
That pie looks so interesting! I'm definitely going to make it. Thank you Jason for showing it to us! Martha I love when you have the cute young guys on the show. 😊 With all the other guests, you're understandably professional, but when you have the young guys on, you have a sweet motherly way about you and the guys clearly love to bake alongside you. 💖
Weird that I woke up this morning and I wanted to make an original gooey butter cake, and then I see it made here. Also, this gooey butter cake is WAY better than the cake mix and cream cheese one floating around. The yeast and just real butter, OMG y’all!!!! You gotta give it a try, totally worth the calories.
Made a sour cherry pie for my husband's birthday a couple of weeks ago as he's not much of a cake person. Served it with a scoop of vanilla frozen custard...divine! :)
The question is... What don't you know how to cook? These desserts are very different. I've never heard of them but, they sound great!! Thank you, Martha💜
I haven’t see one of those stacked ring cakes since I went to an anniversary party for a Danish couple, who were celebrating their 60th, 60 years ago. Theirs was darker, with decorations on it. Nice job!
I just love these episodes without the students. I can relax and watch Martha while having my breakfast feeling like she is talking to me and cooks just for me :)
A wonderful recipe because you are the most wonderful and the best chef and I follow you from Egypt, but please add a translation to your videos and recipes because I would like to benefit from your great experience🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
When making an edit for cooking time, or "resting" time, it would be nice to superimpose the amount of time that's passed during the sound break. I missed hearing the amount of cooking time for the beans even backing up and listening twice. Thanks for the marvelous demonstration of baking techniques!
My sour cherry bombed. Found out my oven wasn't heating correctly. I tried to correct it, but it was mostly a loss. I wait for these cherries every year, I hand pitted 3 pounds of cherries. WAAAAA! Having worked as a waiter, we delivered martinis without looking at them -- the trick is the vestibular fluid function in your ears controls your balance when you are looking into distance rather than up close. .
Don’t forget to pit the cherries. . .I’ve had pie where someone forgot to do that!! It was edible but required great caution to eat. The first bite was unexpected!
I like Martha but find it very funny that they would place the post of cherry pie with cherrys spread on top between two zit popping videos. It just looks they popped zits and cherrys came out. 😆
I've lived in the Chicagoland area my entire life, and I've *never* heard of navy bean pie -- interesting! Looks very easy to make, too. Also, are the Michigan sour cherries the same as the Montmorency tart cherries grown in Door County, WI?
If you want a good and authentic bean pie recipe, don’t get it from two white chefs. Bean was developed by Black Muslims here in America. The Nation of Islam has the best recipe but it’s a closely guarded secret. However, you might be able to befriend a kindly older Black Muslim woman who will graciously teach you how to make it. I like Martha but she’s out of her wheelhouse on this one.

I used to help my grandmother make kransekage. There would always be a little dough left over so I could make my own mini cake. Happy memories ♥️

Cherry pie is my favorite🍒(I have a lot of favorites). Love the Norwegian dessert!

Oh my gosh!
Some recipes like clafouti, actually call for unpitted cherries in classical French cooking. The pits provide a nuanced spiciness.
@@JsgHair71 Do you eat it with the pits in it? Do you use sour cherries or sweet?

Why not blind bake the crust for the cherry pie as you would for others? Just curious, I’ve never made homemade pie before!
