Rodney Mullen is smiling for sure. The tricks with two skateboards is very creative and takes a lot of skill.
I normally would cringe at anyone mentioning Mullen with freestyle footage, but the difficulty and consistency on this one is definitely worthy of it. Damn

I love Isamu so much, been watching him for years. There's one freestyle I can't find again though, and it's one where he uses two regular sakteboards, a longboard and freewheels all in one set. I watched it on facebook and didn't like it so its lost to the abyss :(
Years back after i first saw him ride two boards at once I've nearly always carried two on me at all times, my special is doing a caveman and switching between them while riding

Definitely talented kid. Few tricks hadn't seen before and liked the originality of his run and usage of 2 boards. Definitely not your typical freestyle run. Wondering what Andy and Mike Osterman think?

In my opinion, freestyle should only involve the use of one board. Including a second board makes it seem more like street skateboarding or a different activity altogether. The focus should be on utilizing the full potential of the one board available.

In my opinion freestyle should be freestyle aka you're free to do whatever you want as long as its impressive and on a board lul

Per's freestyle deck outsells all of PP's current pro models except Andy and Cab but they can't put out a 2nd freestyle board? Also it looks like they fired a couple pros so there's room for some NEW product, right?

I mean, it's impressive but doesn't look smooth. I rather watch someone doing really smooth moves one one skateboard.
This is beyond skill ofc but I prefered some of his runs from previous years. The two board stuff is bonkers but a lot of it didn't look that good to me, sort of awkward. I'd rather he use it as a flourish for a run and not a foundation. Still that's just my tastes and I do love anyone who gets weird with it. Maybe with more practice he could be as smooth with 2 boards as he is with one, which would be fucking bananas

I dunno. I'm just not that impressed. If a guy in the 80's cannot really be bettered in 2023 there I think that says something. If this is impressive then go watch Rodney's old footage. Yes, nobody is Rodney. However, degree of difficulty was minimal in this run. Two skateboards? Not sure. Is that impressive? Sort of like a prop to me. Doesn't really do anything much for me. I think the issue is that nobody for the most part is doing freestyle. It's not advancing. In all other aspects of skating you can see evolution. I don't see any evolution here. Just viewers who haven't watched enough real freestyle when it was a thing. Aside from that, have a great day everyone!
