Thanks for watching the video (: I have a link to more information on the lens in the description, and a place you can buy the lens if you're interested! Stay safe out there
Thank You for the video )). I own the lens and i can fully subscribe your thoughts and experiences. I bought it new and calibrated to my Canon 6D and 6Dii. Now it`s on the EOS R and works nice with the adapter. It was like a holy grail for a long time. So please go on with Your videos. Thumbs up )).
I would. I have loads of L-series Canon lenses including 50mm, 85mm and 100 mm (macro) primes and this is much better than the Canon 35 mm L-series lens.
A very extreme competitor with the Canon 35mm but for a fraction of the cost. Calibrating the lens should only take less than five minutes. Extremely sharp on the Crop Sensor literally throughout the entire spectrum... Two big thumbs up for SIGMA! You CAN'T GO WRONG with this lens! MADE Initially for a full frame camera but works way better on a APS- C.
Question - If you shoot wide open at an f1.4 aperture in bright daylight... the shutter speed hits the 1/8000 limit very easily! (clips, can't go any higher) with a Canon R6 or a Sony a7iv Electronic shutter limits also 1/8000. Do you use a ND filter to get around this issue? thanks With my Fujifilm X-T3 in MS + ME mode, it auto switches when needing above 1/8000 to ES mode up to 1/32,000 - thus never had this issue before!. On my Canon R6 if I choose iso 50 L (from 100) to help, this just blows out the highlights images look yuk!!!. I don't want to just raise the aperture to say f2.8 to stop this happening - Canon and Sony need faster Electronic shutter speeds... maybe a firmware fix?
I've got the lens for Canon crop sensor (80D) and it's been great. However, I'm a hobbyist so I'd like to know what calibration means, how I can test if my lens is calibrated and if not, how to do it?
man shes gorgous............35mm f1.4 is a good lens for all around photos however IF your primary focus is on portraits id strongly suggest a longer one like a 50mm or a 85mm or 135mm could take amazing photos with that and better do the model justice
Hey, great review. I have a same situation like you. My 35 mm is super sharp on my Nikon z8. But 85 1.4 anything bellow F2.8 is unsuable, always misses the focus, on d800 dslr I thought is was problem with calibration, but on z8 mirrorless it should not be problem with calibration, cause focus is aquaired differently. How did you fix this problem? I sent the lens to Sigma to check out the lens.any thoughts from your side?
Do you use zebras to help you expose the image? If yes, do you set it to 75 and look for zebras to start showing up on the skin or do you set it to 100+ to have nothing is blown out or some different method? Thank you
I definitely do not have the use out of this lens that you do but I love the images I can get with it and why it's a go to lens for me. Great video as always.
I thought it was just me, but I was noticing that the 35mm ART missed focus an uncomfortable amount of times. I used it on a Canon 5D for a few months and decided to part ways w/ it because of that.
acc to multiple reviews sigma's focus appear to be hit or miss based on the copies, I do not own one, I am failry sceptic towards purchasing them. Also it makes me wonder how does calibrating a lens fixes its innability to aquire focus in certain percentage of the shots.performing a calibration he may have eliminated a percentage of those OOF shots by moving them a bit back into the field of focus, however it doesnt aid the innability of the lens to focus where you want it to focus imho.
@@_systemd The only ART lenses I own now are the 18-35mm and the 30mm, which are both APS-C lenses. I use them on the Fujifilm XT2 and they never miss. They're adapted from EF mounts so it must be Canon bodies being iffy w/ Sigma.
You have to be my favorite photography channel on UA-cam. Very informational and your photos are AMAZING. Your definitely the type of photographer I strive to be! Also I shoot of a Sony a6400 so I'm still looking for a good portrait lens to buy. But keep up the great work 👌
@@BachPhotography now won't I have to buy the metabones speed adapter for it to fit the mount the camera? Because last time I checked that lens doesn't come in a Sony E-mount.
I am really torn about the 35mm focal length. I find it can potentially create more interesting angles and perspectives than a 50mm, but most of my subjects prefer how they look on the 50mm when I show them all the pictures.
I recently did a review and photoshoot on my channel with this lens in NYC at Times Square with off camera flash with a random person I seen walking. The images and bokeh came out amazing, its a great lens so have no doubt!
yeah a 85mm or 135mm would bg better otherwise it kinda feels more like cell phone images you get a nice blurry background and all but the longer lens helps better flatten out the person and seperate the backgrround focusing more on the person. nice stuff though!

Please can you show us how you calibrated this 35mm Art lens???
It should not need to calibrate it if you use it on a mirrorless body as far as I know.

Would you choose this lens or the Canon 35mm f/2 with image stabilization? Great video too thanks!

Sigma sells a calibration mount. Hope this helps.

Does focusing matter in mirroless cameras ? I though all those back/front focusing is an issue only for DSLR cameras
no, mirrorless are troublefree, they do not even discharge, hurry up
Great video on the lens! How do u calibrate your lens? any tutorials to help with canon calibration?
This is a great video explaining :) ua-cam.com/video/2OmxtddLfPM/v-deo.html
Just ordered it ! It will complete my 50 f1.8, 85 f1.8 and my 135 f2 L set up.
Can't wait to shoot with it!
Thanks for the video. Model is very good.
Nice review. Thank you
What's the name of this model ?

@@AsparagusVideo you’re using it on a mirrorless camera. Mirrorless cameras don’t miss like DSLRs do.
@@AsparagusVideo Nope. It needs to be calibrated. Too bad you parted with this masterpiece.
Had to watch twice because the girl distracted me. Was that the idea from the start? Very smart...
I like the lens but who wants to spend that much money and then have to calibrate
Makes no sense
Wow, I was kinda distracted for some reason. Whew!!
I’ve never had a problem with my 85
your getting bad lenses i never had a problem
the model is so beautiful
Calibrated? Wtf? I gotta do all that? Nah I'll pass.
Lens is a beast. So is your skill level
Thanks I appreciate it!

Nice photos, that video promo photo though looks like she's taking a dumb or really needs to 🤣
Thank you very much, I like 👍 the explanation
do you have back focus issues with this lens

what do you mean by calibrate the lease? plz advice
you should not have to calabrate a lens if its new and some people cant to that
Cute model
She was excellent and also a very impressive person

Cool lens I have it!!!!!
I see Tamron 35 1.4 batter
anyone that has this lens, are you noticing a ticking sound when it autofocuses? it's concerning me. thanks
Dan The Drum Lord that’s normal, it’s not a quiet lens 🙂
Thanks for sharing your raw files.
love this lens and love your work!!
great !!

I have to invest in 35. I have a wide for real estate and 50mm for artsy stuff.
It's my favourite lens at the moment!
You can try the Yongnuo 35mm 1.4 or Tamron 35 1.8 VC for cheaper!
The phone in her back pocket....no.
