You're a genius. I have mine split with a boiling water dispenser. Suddenly, one day I could not get any water out of the filter or boiling water dispenser. I thought the filter was clogged up, so I unplugged the boiling water unit and ordered three sets of filters from Amazon. The replace filter videos were not very good, so I decided to watch your video instead. When you got to the part about the leak stop valve, I thought "Uh Oh" and went to check mine. Sure enough the little wafer expanded and popped the valve. My wife must have reached under the sink with wet hands and voilá. I pried the sponge out the snapped down the cover and there was water. I'm saving the filters for the time when it's due for replacement. Thank you for your help.
Thank You! You made this look so simple...and in a less then 30 minute video. Getting ready to order one and just doing my research to make sure that I understand completely what this task involves. With your guidance...can't go wrong. Thanks again...Blessings!
Purchased my system a week ago and used this video as well as the manual for installation. This video was an excellent supplement - I watched all the way through before starting and the manual is excellent - I would advise reading twice and taking your time - see where the connections are, etc. Everything is color coded so the actual install is simple. My space was very tight and it was a pita to get everything in place.
I just helped install one and the water just doesn't come out.. I was wondering how the hell does the water come up from the reservoir tank if it's not pressurized. Also a bad thing I saw is that the glass tube just lays exposed bare against the uv housing lid, which is all-metal so Im imapssive I didn't use enough tosion because risk of cracking the tube and too little force will result in leaks.
@@mexicanlucky The reservoir tank has a rubber bladder inside, which expands as water fills it. One thing that would cause you not to get water from the filter system is low water pressure. Make sure your water pressure is above 40PSI. The metal UV housing should have a rubber gasket for the glass tube sit against.
You can also just let the RO system sitting on the sink floor and not worry of Hanging it anymore, that way its actually a lot easier for you to change/replace your filter over the time. Pull out the system out of your sink and do all the unscrewing of all the filters outside. Easy pizzyyyy 😊
This water filtration system initially worked so well that I purchased a second one. However, when it was time to replace the filters, the system stopped working. It was a headache trying to get customer care to return my calls and figure out the problem. The system was bypassing the filtration process, resulting in no filtered water. After over a month of struggling with this issue and receiving minimal support from customer care, I finally gave up and replaced the entire system with a different brand. I was very disappointed with the lack of support from Express Water and probably won't be buying from them again, as I expect a company to back up their product when customers need assistance.
Anyone else having problems with the threads on the filter housings? Im installing mine now and the SED filter housing is very tight threading on and refuses to tighten all the way.
Should be what's called a half hot. Half the plug is controlled by the switch and the other half has constant power. This is how it should of been wired but not always.
Thanks Jose! Most of the time the water comes out room temperature. However it can come out warm due to the UV light which does get hot! I think if your tank is full it comes out room temperature. If your using more than what was sitting in the tank then it pulls directly from the filter system and then it comes out warm. Honestly I don't typically get warm water when I use it. So far it has been great.
It's funny you mentioned the hot water issue cause I did mention that to my wife when you connected it. I wasn't sure though because some people plumb differently. thought maybe you lived in Europe or something where they have cold on left side. Lol.
I'm not sure, that was what was sent to me. If you are mounting the filter system in a sunny place the white covers would be ideal so algae doesn't grow in the filter housings.
How do you make it work with the outlet being used for the garbage disposal and turned on/off by the switch by the sink? It’s like the only way to get power to the UV filter is by either having your garbage disposal unplugged or have it running 24/7. I see you had some sort of adapter on your outlet was that it?
Unfortunately there isn't really anyway around this if your garbage disposal plug isn't wired as a half hot. The way this should have been wired is that one of the outlets of the plug is wired to the switch and the other functions as a normal plug always providing power.
Can you tell me the dimensions from the bottom of the filters to the top of the bracket, as well as the width? Amazon listing has a bunch of different answers. My 20 year old Watts Premier started leaking and realized the actual housing has huge cracks in it inside the filter cavities so I need a new one, but it has to fit where the old one was. This one looks taller than the one I have.
Height from bottom of filter to top of bracket is 17 1/2" keep in mind you will need more then that to remove the filters unless your pull the whole bracket and assembly off. Total width is 14 3/4" that includes the fittings that extend from the top filters.
@@RealProjectTube thank you! I built a board on rails attached to the side of the cabinet which allows me to slide the whole thing out because I got tired of trying to work under the sink. Just need to make sure it will still fit on the board. My cabinet doors under the sink are much smaller than yours.
Hey could you install the filter assembly on its “back” laying down due to special restrictions? Also what’s the depth dimensions? You gave height and with I just need depth. Thanks in advance!!
Unfortunately RO systems aren't that efficient and waste water to make water. So there will be drainage water whenever the system is making water or filling the tank.
@@ANewEvilRising My kit came with a pressure gauge on the side of the ROM filter. You can check that or they sell gauges on Amazon amzn.to/3nrOjXn. If you have a well like I do there should be a pressure gauge near your well pump as well. Most wells run between 50 to 60PSI. Its always possible it could be something else though for instance one of your plastic hoses are kinked. You can try opening the tank but if its a pressure problem then likely the tank wont fill anyways.

Just a thought....In order to read the pressure gauge, just mount a small mirror on the back wall!
I thought that too😅

Excellent, but i think if you put in the right side of cabinet you have a plenty acces to gauge and UV lamp when time is come to replace it.....IMO

Very helpful for me . After watching this video it was easy to install my system .
Water sensor - can you reset it to use it again or is it single use and have 2 buy it again??
GREAT VIDEO, Thank You so much for sharing!!! PLEASE stay healthy and safe out there!
Great video. Thanks. How much total vertical space is required for this unit. Would 20" work?
Looks like the $157 is for the basic model with out UV. I think 20" would work I have 22 1/2" on mine.

how did you get the clear purple filter covers? The website only shows the white ones.

I just posted this question. I will investigate. Thanks main
The drain saddle package doesnt fit the pipe any thoughts????
All you really need to do is figure out a way to keep the tube from coming out of the pipe. Maybe some hot glue or a zip tie?
Whats the name of that blue device you tested the water with.
TDS meter
Did you use thread tape or putty on the water line adaptor?

Did the installation affect the water pressure to you sink?
I didn't notice any difference.
I set up a reverse osmosis system today and there's water going through the system but none comes out the last line that connects to the faucet
Have you checked your water pressure? You need a minimum water pressure of 40psi in order to force the water through the reverse osmosis filter.

Hello. Is it filtering dishwater water as well?
No, the system isn't really made for that, although you could use it to wash dishes if you used the water sparingly.
Do yall think it taste like coconut
How much time did this take?
Couple Hours and that was with filming, its pretty straight forward.
I wish my city water was that good I'm sitting in 390-450 tds it's crazy
Yeah I thought hey I never see cold on that side. Lol. But hey can happen to any of us.
How to fix red light
Red light blinking
you need to replace the UV bulb or the power supply for it.
21 ppb is not good. Drinking water should be less than 5 to 0 ppb from a filtration system. Either this system is not working or ready to drink.
Total dissolved solids (TDS)
A good TDS level for RO water is 10-50 ppm, but RO typically reduces TDS to under 25 ppm
