If you want a deeper meaning try this. Adam grew up with no father, poor & on the wrong side of the tracks. He was around all the bad elements on the bad side of town with a bad attitude & anger issues that led him to doing time in prison. Tom had a good family but fell into drugs, drinking & being rebellious, making all the wrong choices & eventually led to a serious mental break down with alcohol almost killing him. Nova I believe got transplanted from Canada to Jamacia, had a hard time there & spent time in group homes at some point in her teen's, she fell into the things she was talking about in this song & then at some point was able to impress Deff Jam that she was worth signing & then they screwed her, dropping her with no warning & I believe putting her into a very dark point in her adult life. All three were rebels against authority like most teens but they fell down a rabbit hole of self destruction until they were able to dig themselves out & become the people they are today. So the meaning of the song could be, look at where we came from & all the stupid shit we did but we made it & you can as well, just make better choices. Find a way to become better people for yourself & your families. If you fall down you can get back up again!! Anyone curious enough to wonder & looks will find that they didn't have a fantastic childhood, or teenager life & things started to change for them when they finally hit rock bottom & were lucky enough to have people who cared enough about them to help them out of their darkness. ** These are things that I have heard them talk about on podcasts, livestreams & their own lyrics so I may not have everything just right but I believe this is general elements of their early lives ** Enjoy your reactions !! 👍😎👍 Nova killed this !! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@RobertLeija I agree with you whole heartedly. The album is called The Brave 2 and they stayed on theme being about America, the American Dream, if you want something bad enough and put in the work then there's no reason in America why you can't succeed, and also about being brave enough to stand up for what you believe and to not let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough or you can't do something with your life. I forget if it was on Made In China, Rubber Boots or Zero L's but Tom says something to the little white boys that might be watching him that if they want to grow up to be like him they need to avoid the drugs and violence and they can have $20 million at retirement. I'm paraphrasing but it's something like that. And I can't remember which song cuz I've been listening to the album reviews from the reactors and not listening to the music on its own because it helps me to understand anything I couldn't hear or words I'm not familiar with cuz I'm in my mid 40's. Great job of explaining the backgrounds that Tom, Adam and Nova come from!
@@MegsD79 Yup The Brave 1 & 2 are all about realizing who you are, facing your fears, standing up for what you believe in and never giving up. Plus F all the haters....lol.
Know what is crazy? Someone will probably call you racist for the paragraph you wrote heh. Well that is the world we live in today i suppose. But this was informative.
I think it’s supposed to just be a fun song… a throwback to who they were during their teenage/adolescent years. I loved it; gave me flashbacks to my friends and I in grade 11/12! They’re music is normally to meaningful/ thought provoking, so it’s nice to hear one that’s so fun.
This song is based on a 90s/early 2000s Hip Hop/Rap. Using that as the foundation of the song, Tom, Adam, and Nova crafted their verses around what they were like and their mental mindset during that time frame, especially as teens. They just made it a fun song that people could bop to.
Nova said Tom and Adam would not have made a video for this one. But this was the song she was on so they made it for her. She has an album in the works.
The song is a throwback explaining their connection to childhood and rap and a way of life not what they are living now but what it was then disk man. That's not existed now LOL..
Great stuff rosalie, So glad you decided to react to this. Nova absolutely stole this track. As good as Tom and Adam are, she brings a whole new feel to the piece. Love this track. btw, it's about their early life.
This is to show that they know what thug life is, they weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth, or even a gold grill. Chrome is usually used on cars to make them look fancy, but without spending a lot of money. It dates back to the time when cars were hand crafted works of art.
I liked it. Tom and Adam said only 5 songs on the album are political/world issue type songs and the rest is just good ol hip hop. Which is exactly what I wanted to see from Tom, not every song or album has to be pushing a message. We have 100 songs like that from him. Let's just get some fun music that we can enjoy and not think about how messed up the world is.
This is a throwback or nostalgia track from the beat to the 'fits to the lyrics describing each of their lives back in the day. Shows where they started compared to where they've ended up. They all killed it, but Nova slays her verse. 💪 🤘😎🔥 #HangOverGang #ACAL #NovaRockafeller
Tom has many styles and subjects, his most diverse songs are usually on the CDs, but the songs that get the most traction are his social commentary ones, Nova's not really into that so on this one she shines. #HOG UK
The way I interpreted it is back in the beginning of his rise Tom did this song where he was talkin about what did we want that the conscious rap appeal to one set and then the other appealed to the other set that wavy the kids because in the beginning when Tom was doing like everybody else he had quite a following back then of these wavy kids so to say and the insinuation I got was that he'd like to reach both groups to do that he has to connect with the wavy kids in a way that they understand which is by talking about past experiences in a manner that doesn't make them feel judged. But that's just how I interpreted it song to say look this was where we came we're no better or worse than anybody else but with determination and hard work their actions prove that that doesn't have to be your entire existence that you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps and be even better than you thought you could be.
I think the point is. Now we see thoughtful, intelligent talented people... But here they are laying down their roots... We weren't always who we are now, if you want to step up and grow as a person, you can
Nova's catalogue goes back way further than her relationship with Tom. I actually knew of Nova before Tom and only learned of Tom because of Nova. She's a fantastic catalogue that you should check out.
I see it as a throwback to when alot of us were younger. I'm the same age as adam and his verse is litterly my life as a teenager. So much nostalgia. Being stupid, rolling up joints in the car, getting in fights. Tupac, odb blasting in the car on a friday night and being out with friends without a care in the world
They are talking about their youths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The chrome wheels are not about a car, its about their potential as adults!!! Wake up people!!! Toms red boots are from SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!!!! THEIR YOUTH!!!
I think it was a cool old school rap vibes, Talking about their past as youths, Thy had Nothing but a old Honda with Chrome Wheels, that's how it was bck then u could hve a hoopty but if u had Chrome wheels u were cool lol , that's a era sure all could relate, Now that's how thy were in their younger days, today it was all worth it, thy all are successful , Every 1 of them Independent & K*ilin it!!! So Happy for them, so much better then that mainstream Rap,where thy promote S*x,Dr*gs , Women & Sippin on Gin&juice, lol how it's the right thing to do,when it's totally wrong thing for Kids, that shouldn't be listening to today's mainstream Rap, it promotes all bad Not to do in life!!! Thy nailed it though!!! Nice Reaction,With Tom u don't know which way he's gonna take the song, to either the horror we r seeing today, or just regular old school rap!!!💯🎶
There was definitely a cultural breakdown in your review of this one. Almost any East Coast or West Coast kid that grew up in the late 90's I think can relate to and understand this song. You're definitely lacking context, but that's fine. It's kind of amusing witnessing someone experience a fish out of water moment. Still an interesting breakdown even if you can't actually understand. Thanks!
Lmao the chrome resistance stuff, nah just a hood thing, but also as far as saying bad to the bone, talking as kids, which I was, didn't have to go around saying it or now but if giving people information about me that didn't know me growing up lol, but def feel Adams verse the most, even though relate a lot with Novas, group home, robbing, dealing, school... like I was first on probation at 9 and had to be escorted to school by the cops everyday, had to do a "scared straight" thing at 12 lol one of my favorite childhood memories, grew bud, robbed many people ect, but nah for me #Adamcalhoun took this for me, all of them hit me in the feels...like makes me feel I'm back in the days, lol n like Tom with dunkaroos, beat this kids ass for a bag of sour gummy worms, used to pay my older brothers friends $5 to punch them in the face lol, price got inflated after the first time, which that was when I was like 12, they were a good 6-8 years older
Yep. :) I haven’t really heard her rap before so it got my attention. That’s just how art and music works imo. Different things stand out to different people and have a different effect. How you interpret my emotional response and body language, well that’s up to you and just as subjective too :)
They came from nothing or less than nothing and they are here now. Without saying “we’re here now” they are saying what they are and came from and anyone who is a fan will know the nuance
As far as the Chrome reference, you're digging too deep. This is a song about their past. Back in the day all of us poor kids may have had beaters, but dammit those rims were CHROME!!
nah i just didn't grow up in America. Didn't have a car at all as a teen actually. couldn't afford it. that's how life was for me as a regular teen not living in America.
Overanalyzing it again they're talking about their their teenage years listen to what you're saying they're talking about teenagers growing up they're growing up what they did when they were teenagers why does everybody have to make it harder than it has to be listen to the words
Why would you waste your time covering an artist like this again...smh... You obviously know what he stands for and it does not fit your channel at all. 👎👎

This is such an awesome comment!! Thank you for this info. That makes a lot of sense and is a fantastic takeaway.

Well said!
This is them telling you their real life experience...what made them what they are today. How they have evolved and grown...they are all past 35 now.
Talking about their younger days.
Dear Nova is the monster under the bed!!! If u have time check out to her songs "DEAR NOVA "&"PROBLEM "

Greetings from Greece Rosalie 🙏
"Problem" in her white sandals
The whole song was just about when they were in high school. They definitely don't behave like this anymore

It was a nostalgic throwback!, I’m not Tom or Adam but I understood where they are coming from! And nova told you who she was!, good reaction
Nova Nova Nova #hangovergang Forever 💕
It is talking about when they were teenagers...when they were jerks: Just like a lot of kids back in the day.
It tells us how far they came nothing political yeah its just what they were like as kids
Nova said Tom and Adam would not have made a video for this one. But this was the song she was on so they made it for her. She has an album in the works.

IT WAS ABOUT LIFE IN THE LATE 90's , and EARLY 2K's FOR YOUTHS , EF EVERYTHING and BODY ! MEANT TO BE A FUN SONG ! #HOGLOVE2U😇❤💯🤟🖕🙏
Maybe it was just meant to be a fun song and a fun departure from all the seriousness. ❤❤
They just showing their growth from wild life style the used to live..

This is just 90 throw back. What they listened to as they were growing up listening to and how they lived
Rosalie always enjoy your perspective and reactions. Thanks for all you do.

I love Ladies like her 40+ Age and like good music

It's the story of their individual teenage years. It's meant to be fun.
I like that interpretation. good points. thank you for sharing :)
They just talking about where they came from and how thay made it ....talking about drugs and you're past are two different things
I think the point is.
Now we see thoughtful, intelligent talented people...
But here they are laying down their roots...

Nova has been rapping longer than Tom ever thought about rapping. She was signed to DefJam once upon a time.
NOSTALGIC AS CAN BE , NOVA KILLED TOM AND ADAM WITH HER VERSE !
There is only one ''political song'' left on the album and its called ''Freedom of speach '' . Hope that is the next one he makes a video to.
#2ndRODEO
Nova's about to drop new music soon this song is absolutely her launching pad for that
Pretty sure he said I'd still be rapping even if there wasn't Eminem
Great reaction!!! I hope you listen to the whole album!!

My son would say they are older people trying to look young. That must make me an old wheezer😂.
They're not trying to look young. They are just talking about their youth

Welcome to the late 90s/2000s

Their talking about their youth
