Thank you. Appreciate it. 👍
This was the only video that I could find (and I tried a LOT of different videos) that had all the exact steps that worked (the FIRST time) to program the HomeLink mirror on both a 2022 Toyota Corolla about a year ago, and a 2024 Toyota Corolla today.
Finally a Homelink video which worked for a 2023 Nissan Kicks. Glad it worked, but after trying for more than a week to resolve this and seeing all of the comments / posts. Homelink should be ashamed of themselves to have such flaky technology, which has been around for many years. Come on Homelink fix the issues.
Theres hundreds of 60 second video of car dealers in parking lots "explaining" half of these steps wihtout actually going through the entire process for real. This is the only real guide that works
Was able to easily program two of my three vehicles to my new garage door opener. But I spent hours trying to get it to work for the Jeep, and that's the bay with the new garage door opener. Spent hours trouble-shooting, watching videos, etc. Finally got through to a human at HomeLink who said it may be interference from the Jeep's EZ Pass or the LED lights in the garage. I was skeptical, but yanked the EZ Pass off the windshield and turned off all the LED's in the garage. And it worked like a charm. This should be called out on a sticker or something, as EZ Pass and LED lights are PRETTY common these days...
2025 Toyota Corolla SE Hybrid; After doinking around with the owners manuals for 30 minutes and finding nothing, then checking the homelink website, I came upon this video. I knew we had rolling codes so I took notes starting at 2:35 in the video and Voila ! I instantly felt like an IT Wizard ! Woo Hoo !
To the people who have trouble programming older (no learn button) garage openers or Canadian customers, be sure to set the homelink button to learn mode, and then press and hold remote garage opener several times until the light confirms that it has learned. Mine took 9 times for one door and 4 times for the other one even though they are exactly the same. Might be the batteries but it eventually works.
Thanks HomeLink.
Can you elaborate please? I'm having trouble getting mine to work. I know it can work without going to the garage learn button because the dealership programmed it using my same portable remote a few months ago (but since then, I had to reset my garage for security reasons). I've reprogrammed my portable remote but I'm having trouble using the portable remote to reprogram my homelink.
Yeah how do we get the home link into learn mode?
This worked for me but-- instead of pressing the home link button 3 times I had to hold it.
Works great, thanks.
Thank you! That worked for mine too! I didn’t know what to do when the video didn’t work!
The absolute best video for connecting these things. No other video is helpful
Thank you great instructions, worked with my 2023 Subaru Outback and god only knows how old my Genie door opener is.
Worked like a charm for my rolling code GDO and HomeLink on a 2010 vehicle, using the remote method. Key is to do the double-tap confirm step at the end of the programming.
Worked great on my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. Had to select the program key on the actual motor itself, but took less than 5 minutes. Thanks!
Excellent - this video solved the mystery with clear instructions on how to sync with rolling codes. Worked first time we tried it with these instructions. Thanks to whoever put this video together.
That was very simple. Took less than a minute to complete. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much. I was thinking of buying remote instead of using homelink in the car. However, it worked. Thanks to this step by step video.
Glad it worked for you. In most instances, you will still need your original garage door remote though, so having one can be helpful!
Tried it out on my 2021 Mazda CX5, worked perfectly! Got it up and running in less than 10 minutes
Nice work Abby! Glad you were able to get everything set up!
If you have an existing garage door opener with rolling codes and an Audi A3 or A4, then ignore this entire video. Press the "learn" button on your garage door opener momentarily until it glows steadily. Within 30 seconds, press the Homelink button in your car. The garage door light will flash once. Press your Homelink button once to confirm that the garage door closes. You are done.
It helped with my 2023 4Runner and 2022 Rav4! Thanks
You guys are the best thank you and happy new year 🎆🎈🎊
You should start your car just before attempting to program. For my vehicle, the homelink buttons "time out" after x amount of time since I last used the key in the accessory or ignition mode. This prevents unauthorized access to your garage, etc if you left your car unlocked.
Hey DocLaurie,
Thanks for the tip!
This absolutely worked. 2022 Toyota Highlander.
Well done instructions that helped me solve my issue after trying many others. This one ROCKS!
Fantastic video. Thanks. Between the owner's manual and Homelink's training video I was doing nothing but wasting time. Saw your video and got all my cars done in less than 5 minutes.
When I press the yellow Learn button, the light stays on, when I press the learn button again, the light is flashing. Which one puts the garage door opener in pair mode? The steady light on or the flashing light?
None of this works for me
Excellent help, the manual from the car was useless but for sending me here!
Will HomeLink OEM in 2018 Chrysler Pacifica link with Eagle-1 sliding gate operator with Eagle R30-47822 receiver?
I can't get through the first step. The light flashes slowly while I push the remote control button and the HomeLink light never flashes fast. I tried this multiple times on my 2007 GMC Envoy with my new LiftMaster 8365W opener. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
Hey Moto Cruiser, the issue is that your new garage door opener uses a different security code than older garage doors used in the past. Because of this, the older generation HomeLink in your 2007 GMC Envoy isn't compatible with the newer generation of code/garage door. To enable your system to work, you'll need to purchase a compatibility bridge (www.chamberlain.com/homelink-compatibility-bridge-kit/p/HOMELINK+RPTR) and then use this video to finish your programming: ua-cam.com/video/ICJER_qswbU/v-deo.html
I almost gave it up but it worked out finally!!
What did you do? I have a 2021 sentra and can't get it to work.
Have been trying without success to pair Liftmaster 8550 opener with mirror-mounted remote in a 2013 BMW. After more investigation, it became apparent that I needed to use a HomeLink Repeater to translate the signal from the car to the opener. So I got the repeater and followed the steps as instructed, but again no success. The first programing steps appear to go as expected but when I push the "Learn" button on the opener unit, the LED does not light up and when I then push the programmed button in the car nothing happens. Is there a problem with the Learn function in the opener unit? Why doesn't the Learn LED light up as it should? I'm baffled by this one. Suggestions?
Hey love these vids .people have forgotten to have pride in your work and have fun doing it .you guys are fucking cool.motivates me on my project.keep it up.my wife thought paint on the zepher was outstanding !

Worked like a champ on my IoniQ5
I have done it twice. Mine is 2012 and after i replace my garage opener/motor, i need to reprogram again. Somehow, I found that using garage remote control to program did not work on mine at all. I had to use the button on the opener/motor to make it works.
I don't have the remote opener, programmed my 2023 Ram without it. Would be nice to job how to clear all previous buttons.
I can't get it to program. I'm thinking my garage door opener might be too old. How do I know?
Hi, Kris. Sorry to hear you're having trouble programming your HomeLink. Can you let us know what make, model and year vehicle you're trying to program, and the make and model of the garage door or gate you're trying to train? And can you let us know which step in the video isn't working for you? Once we know more we will be able to provide additional support. Thanks!
Just an FYI. When they say make sure the remote has fresh batteries, They mean it! Pissed around with this all evening trying to get it to program. Put a fresh battery in and got it first try.
Outstanding video!! Super easy to follow and I was able to figure out my syncing in NO TIME! Thanks!!
can homelink be connected to a n older chamberlian door opener without having a

Hi, Thomas. Unfortunately, you need the original transmitter to program HomeLink. Depenind on your garage door opener model, you should be able to purchase a replacement on Chamberlain's website or retail outlets.
I'm having a ton of trouble setting this up for my mom's new 2022 Honda Pilot. I tried the whole thing and no luck. It's for a LiftMaster with a green learn button. Any way you could help?
Hi, Angel. Sorry to hear you're having trouble programming your HomeLink. Can you let us know the make and model of the garage door you're trying to train? And can you let us know which step in the video isn't working for you? Once we know more we will be able to provide additional support. Thanks!
FYI:
My 2013 Optima came with a dealer-installed HomeLink remote system when I purchased it new. The device has 12v going to it 24/7. Had I known this, I would have had it replaced with a typical mirror. I’ve disabled the device when I had to park the said vehicle in the driveway. If someone chooses to leave their garage door remote in their vehicle, that’s their choice and it’s perfectly fine. I’ll choose deterrence over convenience. Always.
I’ve addressed this with both manufacturers multiple times in the past two or so years and if they’re addressing this security flaw, I’ve not been informed.
Consumer complaints to the offices of the Michigan and California State Attorney Generals have been fruitless.
I didn’t want to post this information, but I’ve given them ample time to rectify the problem.

Why don't you just erase all buttons (last part of video) and get on with your life?
@@rickprice6312 Precious.
This video didn't work for my 2023 VW ID.4. I had to change my Genie / Overhead Door Silent Max 4040L to "Program" by grabbing a ladder and pressing the mode button until which was #3, according to the manual, then run to the car and hit the button 3x for it to sync. My remote control did nothing for me. But sharing here in case it helps someone else!
None of these processes work for my 2010 Avalon. My opener is a Liftmaster (2008 vintage). When the car is on, the homelink light is green. When I push any of the buttons, the light turns red. I never get the flashing no matter how long I hold the buttons down. I have tried the 1st and 3rd button to reset all and lights only show red (no flashing). I tried the remote control 1-3" from the mirror (no flashing). I tried the learn button on the Liftmaster and pushed the buttons to program (no flashing). Would I really need the bridge or is it just my homelink isn't transmitting signal or receiving signal?
Hey Stephanie,
The green indicator light just shows that your auto-dimming mirror is on. The HomeLink buttons are the three buttons to the left of the power button.
You need to simultaneously press and hold both outside HomeLink buttons for 10 or 20 seconds (until the indicator light flashes rapidly) to reset your HomeLink.
Then press and hold both the HomeLink button you're trying to train, and the garage door remote button until the HomeLink indictor light changes from flashing slowly to flashing rapidly.
Then, you will likely have to go into your garage, press the learn button on the back of your garage door opener, and return to your vehicle within 20 seconds. Once back in your vehicle, press, hold, and release the trained HomeLink button 2-4 times, and your training should be complete. Let me know if this doesn't work.
I have a 2021 subaru forester and a liftmaster 8550 from 2013. The car programs easily but stops working every10 days and needs to be reprogramed. Help?
Suzanne, sorry you're having trouble. The next time it stops working, please try locating and pressing the learn button on your garage door opener. Within 30 seconds return to your vehicle and press the HomeLink button 3 times for 2 seconds each. This should provide a permanent fix.
Can't get to work with genie intellicode opener and 2021 Volvo v60 cc, home icon just keeps slowly flashing orange when trying to pair with hand held or with learn-button. It does work with 2019 Volvo s60 😟,
Hey Tom, sorry to hear you're having trouble with programming. Your vehicle and garage door should be compatible, so try replacing the battery in your hand held garage door remote. Also, during training, try adjusting the angle at which you're pointing the hand held remote at the mirror. Once the HomeLink button changes from slowly flashing to rapidly flashing, THEN press the learn button in your garage, and within 20 seconds return to your V60 and press and release the trained HomeLink button a few times. Let us know if you're still running into issues!
Previous car had no problem with community gate, New Lincoln Have tried your method and method in manual (which is different) nothing works. light starts flashing fast but won't open gate, Don't see any name on gate or "learn" button.
Hey Anne M, sorry to hear you're having issues with training. Since you've got the HomeLink buttons programmed correctly (flashing rapidly), it sounds like you have a rolling code gate, which means you will need to press the learn button in order to complete training. Often times, these learn buttons are under a weather-protecting plastic cover which needs to be opened or removed. If you have a security person or team for the gate, they should be able to help you complete this step. Can you let us know what model and year Lincoln you have? And if possible, any brand/model of gate? This will help us confirm whether you'd have any compatibility issues. Thanks!
@@HomeLinkGentex It's a 2020 Lincoln Corsair. We had a 2017 Lincoln MKC previously and had no problem and no problem with other cars.
@@annem9219 From what you're telling us, and assuming that the community gate didn't get updated, it doesn't sound like there would be any compatibility issues that would prevent the HomeLink programming process. There is very likely a learn button somewhere on the gate's motor. We should be able to provide more detailed information once we know the brand/model of the gate, but we apologize that this is frustrating!
Does anyone know- on my '19 Porsche 911, the turn signal never blinks. I've followed all the steps. I've tried different remotes, replacing the batteries, standing further/closer, also tried holding button for over two minutes etc. I've tried all three buttons on the Homelink, repeatedly resetting the Homelink, etc but even tho the internal red light is blinking slowly, when I hold my remote in the front and hold the button down- the signal never blinks and never gets programmed. Hey Jackie,
Congrats on the new LiftMaster! The reason you're having issues is because newer garage doors also use more advanced security, and older HomeLink models didn't have those codes.
To get your new garage door to work with your older HomeLink, you will need a compatibility bridge (secure.homelink.com/homelink-repeater-kit-detail) and then you will need to follow the steps outlined in the following video: ua-cam.com/video/ICJER_qswbU/v-deo.html

Dear Gentex, I'm in Australia and have purchased a Gentex Genk41A4 mirror for my car. I've purchased a Ditech receiver which accepts signals on the 433.92 frequency. I've connected the receiver to the garage motor and I'm able to control both the garage and my electric gate. I can't get the remote to pair with the mirror though either by holding the remote to the mirror, or pressing the learn button on the Ditech receicer. For the last year or so Tesla owners in Australia have been able to use this same receiver successfully however they use the Gentex universal garage door transmitter module installed behind the front bumper instead of a mirror with any buttons. This module works on the 411 - 440 frequency range plus others. Can you please advise what mirror people need to buy to be able to pair with a remote/garage receiver on the 433.92 frequency? My Gentex mirror is Auto dimming fine, just the homelink function doesn't work and it feels like a paperweight now. The back of my mirror says HL4, does the mirror need to be tri band security+2.0 compatible?
Hoping that you can reply. My garage motor without the receiver is on the 433.22 frequency and it also won't pair with the mirror
Further research shows that the FCC ID NZLOBIH4 uses frequency 411 -420 so am I right that I will require a repeater in this range?
@@TweakedGSX Hey Juzzie Evo X, the HomeLink in the mirror you purchased (HomeLink 4) is for the US market, and as such, is not compatible with European devices (including Ditec components). The Tesla platforms you're referring to have HomeLink 5 and have been certified in Australia, which added more compatible platforms and is designed for certified use in additional markets, which is why those vehicles can communicate with the Ditec devices. No aftermarket Gentex HomeLink mirror has been certified for Australia at this time. The repeater/bridge kit is only for Chamberlain devices in the North American market, and would not help you.
I tried this method on nu saab 9-3 2009. Followed your instruction only no results. The light starts flashing slowly but doesn't chance to solide or rapid flashing. the car originally comes from the US but is currently in Europe. Can anyone tell me what else I can do?
Hey Goos, sorry to hear you're having trouble with programming. Unfortunately, the HomeLink in your vehicle uses different frequencies intended for use in the US, and will not be compatible with the vast majority of European garage doors, which operate on different frequencies. Newer versions of your vehicle will have updated HomeLink systems in them and have the potential for compatibility, but due to the age of your vehicle, your HomeLink will not be compatible with non-US garage doors. Correct. In order to program a gate, you will need it to follow the same steps outlined in this video, and press the learn button on the gate instead of the garage door. Hey dhauer,
That's an interesting one. Do you mind telling us what brand of garage door you're using?
We'd recommend that you reset your garage door motor head and re-enroll all of your devices and vehicles. Some garage doors only allow for a small number of devices to be synced to them, so it is possible that you trained a new device and bumped the Jeep's code out of your garage door's memory.

Hello, I have a Hyundai Veloster 2013, and I've trying to link my HomeLink to my garage door but it doesn't seem to work. I tried looking for that button on the garage motor that says 'smart' or 'learn' but it's not there, I do see one ref button that says erase. Help! What else can I do??
Hey Monica,
What brand garage door do you have? If it's a Genie or Overhead Door, you need to make sure that the remote is in the correct mode (if so, use this video: ua-cam.com/video/9mSq8M_ifnA/v-deo.html). Let us know if that works!
HomeLink Gentex the garage door is a chamberlain
Hey Monica,
The Smart or Learn button may not be labeled on your device. It will likely be a button above/near where the antennae hangs out of the garage door opener. Most Chamberlain learn buttons are either yellow, purple, or orange.
Still couldn't get it to work. Really frustrating.
Hey Abigsoxfan,
Sorry to hear you're having problems getting your system set up. Can you let us know what make, model, and year vehicle you're trying to train, and what garage door opener you're trying to pair it with? Once we know more we can help you troubleshoot.
i have trailblazer LT 2007 i tried all the ways to program it with the garage but it didn't work , when i press homelink button with remote button the homelink indicator light flash slowly and after that stop flashing i don't know why
''' pleas help me '''
Hi ALI OoO, this video is for a newer version of HomeLink than what is in your vehicle. We'll be adding in applicable model listings soon.
Your training may vary a bit depending on your brand of garage door opener. To view custom training instructions that are specific to your make, model, and garage door opener, visit homelink.com/program, and fill in each of the fields for your specific model. Let us know if you still are having issues.
ALI OoO If you have a 2007 GMC, or any GM product for that matter, you may have the alternative system to HomeLink. The one it may be is called LEER. If it is a LEER system; you will be limited to which openers you'll be able to program to.
If it is in fact HomeLink- the directions that HomeLink gives and your vehicle owners manual gives can be deceiving. From what you're saying, it sounds like your remote will not program to HomeLink. You need to hold the button 3-5" from the light that is flashing. You may need to move the remote closer and further away; keep moving it around until the light flashes as described. Also, you need to make sure that the remote does in fact work for opener, and lastly, make sure you have good batteries in remote just to be sure. I will be putting a full instructional video on my website soon. GOOD LUCK!!!

I need to program 2 separate vehicles, both of which use HomeLink. I just programmed my new one and it wiped out my other vehicle...
Hey Anita,
Most garage door openers have a bank of multiple devices that they can be trained to. It sounds like your most recent HomeLink bumped out your previously trained programming. You should be able to re-enroll the other vehicle by retraining the HomeLink. Sorry for any confusion!
Unfortunately I cannot program the home link on BMW 545i (2004) from FAAC remote XT2 433 SLH LR 7870071 433.92MHz. When I try to programming the home link it always flashes slow and never fast. Is there compatibility issue?
Hey Zurab,
Unfortunately, the system you listed uses FAAC's rolling code, and is not compatible with HomeLink at this time.
Dear HomeLink Gentex, thank you for your reply
I have a 2019 Ford Mustang and a Liftmaster 3800PLD garage door opener. I have not been able to program the buttons. I also purchased the Homelink compatibility bridge and still have not gotten it to work. Any suggestions Homelink?
Hey cmpss4,
With a 2019 vehicle, you won't need a repeater/compatibility bridge for your garage door to work. The learn button for your system may be located on the back of your garage door opener, or possibly on the wall unit. Can you check the back of your handheld garage door remote and let us know the transmitter model? Once we know that we should be able to assist you further.
Thanks!
@@HomeLinkGentex Sure thing, it is a Liftmaster 893MAX.
Thanks cmpss4! After discussing with our engineering team, our understanding is that your learn button is actually located on the keypad/wall mounted control unit in your garage (not an outdoor keypad). This is likely located near the door from your garage into your home. You'll have to flip up the gray activation button, and the Learn button is under that. Press the learn button (a red LED will light up), then return to your vehicle and press and release the trained HomeLink button 2-4 times, and that should complete your training. Let us know if you need anything else!
@@HomeLinkGentex Hi Homelink folks, just wanted to update you on my opener. The only thing that seemed to solve the problem was holding the purple learn button on my opener for about 10 seconds which deletes all the remotes that are associated with it. Once I did this I was able to program the Homelink on the first try along with my other remotes. I appreciate your responses and hope that this info helps someone in the future.
Thanks cmpss4! We'll make a note in our system regarding the Liftmaster 3800PLD. Most garage doors can "hold" a certain number of remote devices (handheld remotes, HomeLink connections, keypads, etc.), and once you've filled the system, it uses a last-in first-out system. Thanks for letting us know that your device is more of a "once full, nothing else can be added" system. And nice work on your problem solving!
I just bought a Nissan 2017 Rogue with Homelink. I live in a condo with a Micanan Pro-H commercial garage door opener. I cannot sink the opener to the mirror garage door opener. Can anyone help. Thanks
Hey Claude,
Congrats on the new Rogue, but unfortunately HomeLink isn't compatible with Micanan Pro-H commercial garage doors at this time. We're always working to expand our compatibility list though, and I'll pass along this note to our team.
Thank you for your quick response. Hope this will be resolved soon.
Hey Claude, can you check to see if your mirror is auto-dimming or not? Does it dim automatically at night or do you have to flip it manually?
it dims automatically.
warren I have a 2007 azera and now matter how they say to do it I cant get it to work
Without knowing your brand of garage door, we can't confirm if your device is HomeLink compatible or not. If your device is compatible, but is a newer garage door, you may need a compatibility bridge (secure.homelink.com/homelink-repeater-kit-detail) and then you will need to follow the steps outlined in the following video: ua-cam.com/video/ICJER_qswbU/v-deo.html
I didn't get a hand controller for my garage when I moved in. The garage has a date for 1999. I have a 2004 Tahoe I'm trying to sync with the garage and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help with this matter? Thank you
Hey CCdelia B,
Unfortunately, you'll need a handheld garage door remote control in order to train HomeLink. You can purchase a new handheld remote control at most hardware stores. Once you have the handheld remote, the steps in this video should work for you. Sorry for the inconvenience!
@@HomeLinkGentex ok thank you so much! will any universal remote work?
@CCdelia B in most cases, the handheld universal garage door opener remotes you can buy will list the brands they are compatible with, as well as wether or not they are HomeLink compatible. Double check to make sure your garage door brand is on their list before buying!
@@HomeLinkGentex ok awesome! thank you for your help
Will HomeLink buttons work only when vehicle is on or even when engine is off?
i tried on my honda crv 2016 touring, works while engine off too
I have a PowerMaster gate with no 'Learn' button. anyone know what I can do?
Hey Ray,
If the gate does not have a learn button, it is more that likely a fixed code device, and does not need to include that step. When you are training your HomeLink, does your HomeLink indicator light flash rapidly?
2012 Honda Pilot with an Overhead Door Odyssey 1000 SN 141434110511OA (circa 2014). Trying to reprogram a previously used Homelink button. None of your instructions work. I hold down the Homelink button, and it immediately starts flashing slowly, and does nothing but that no matter how long I hold it down. Nothing said in your video corresponds to what I see.
Hey CrustyCurmudgeon,
To train an Overhead Door garage, you may have a few other steps you need to complete in order to put your handheld remote into the correct mode. Those instructions can be found in this video: ua-cam.com/video/9mSq8M_ifnA/v-deo.html
Once you've got your handheld garage door remote in the correct mode, press and hold the HomeLink button you are trying to train for around 15-20 seconds. Continue holding down your HomeLink button, hold your handheld garage door remote about 2-5 inches from your HomeLink buttons, and simultaneously begin pressing and holding the button on your handheld garage door remote. Once the HomeLink indicator changes from slowly flashing to rapidly flashing, you will need to go into your garage, press the Train button on your garage door overhead unit, then return to your vehicle and press and release the newly trained HomeLink button 2-3 times. Let us know if you're still having issues!
Can not pair it. Marantec comfort 250. Bmw x5 e70. Light does not flash rapidly. With e53 was ok
Hey Gata Gata,
From our records, those two systems should be compatible. Do you live in the US or EU? The reason we ask is because if you imported your vehicle from the US into the EU, the frequencies your vehicle and garage door are each using might not correspond, and that would be the only reason your system wouldn't work. We are required to comply with each country's frequency requirements, so we cannot utilize certain frequencies in the US that are allowed in the EU, and vice-versa.
Let us know!
@@HomeLinkGentex just found out. That the mirror I bought is from usa! Need to get Europe mirror.
Solution is easy. Just have to change inside homelink plate in mirror.
Firstly, is it necessary to this programming AT NIGHT? Just joking but why is the video recorded at night.
Secondly does programming a second or third car affect a previously programmed car?
I am sure it does NOT but this should be mentioned in the video.
Hey Science-is-god,
Our marketing team opted for the introduction scenes to be at night, but the animation is pretty well lit, so we let them run with it.
And if you're training a second or third button, the programming will likely be the same, unless one of your devices is a Genie or Sommer brand. In most cases though, the process will be the same. What devices are you trying to train, and what make, model and year of vehicle are you working in?
Thanks!
Program a genius garage door opener
Hey Dee,
Do you mean Genie brand garage doors? We've got videos for that! Here's a generic one (ua-cam.com/video/9mSq8M_ifnA/v-deo.html) but if you want specific instructions, go to HomeLink.com and you can specify your vehicle make, model and year, and get custom instructions. Hope that helps!
Interesting how the illustration of the garage door never reacts to the many times the home remote is pressed during the Homelink training procedures. Just (not) like in real life!
Hey Trusty Auto,
Great catch! That's one of the reasons we remind people to stay clear of their garage door during programming!
Way easier than Volkswagen's explanation
We're glad the video was helptul!
I pressed the learn button on my Chamberlain lift master and then pressed , and released my 2007 Toyota Highlander over head console and nothing happened
2018 highlander ,followed instructions with no result. Chamberland door opener
Hey Dan,
Sorry to hear you're having issues. Can you let us know which step didn't work? Were you able to get your HomeLink indicator lights to change from slowly blinking to either rapidly flashing or solid? Or did you have issues with pairing your garage door to your trained HomeLink button? Let us know and we will try to offer additional steps.
@@HomeLinkGentex 2008 Lexus ES350. I press 1 and 3 for 20 secs on my Homelink unit to reset.
Then I press and hold 1 on Homelink and it just continuously flashes for 1-2 mins then turns off.
Must’ve tried 50 times using all instructions and every possible way.
@@koachk5360 Sorry to hear you're having issues with programming. If your handheld garage door remote is not pairing with your HomeLink (simultaneously pressing and holding the HomeLink button and the button on your handheld garage door remote), and you have a newer Chamberlain garage door opener, it is likely that the HomeLink in your 2008 is too old to communicate with your newer garage door opener's security code. Newer Chamberlain systems have updated their security settings, and older HomeLink systems do not have the new codes required to communicate. To enable your system to work, you'll need to purchase a compatibility bridge ( www.chamberlain.com/homelink-compatibility-bridge-kit/p/HOMELINK+RPTR ) and then use this video to finish your programming: ua-cam.com/video/ICJER_qswbU/v-deo.html
Let us know if you run into any other issues!
@@HomeLinkGentex Thanks for the info. The problem is that Chamberlain indicates that a bridge is not required for my specific vehicle and model of garage door opener. They are wrong.
@@koachk5360 Can you let us know what the model number is on your Chamberlain door? We can check it with our team and confirm for you.
