    God I love how you deconstruct these campaigns. I'm a year late but I really enjoy these videos, it's a shame you don't get more attention online.

      Thanks! I'm getting more attention just recently, just got a ton of new subs! I'm working on more videos and maybe even another Fig update!

      StopDrop&Retro I wonder what caused the sudden surge in popularity? I started watching you because of your knock off system reviews about a month ago, now I'm just binge watching your content because I find your channel/relaxed atmosphere really interesting. Either way, I'm along for the ride now. Here's to hoping you continue to grow!

    Well, your really finding your voice amongst all the many game commentators on youtube -and doing it really well.

    • @StopDropRetro

      +Mike Futcher Thanks! I'm testing the waters right now and people seem to like these type of videos. The only thing is that it takes a ton of time for me to script and edit like this so it's going to be hard to turn it into a weekly thing. I also don't think I'll be doing "news" stories or opinion pieces like Boogie2988 does, I enjoy his news/rant videos but I'd like to have more production value and research rather than just a camera pointed at me. Thanks for your feedback, it means a lot to me while I'm trying to find my niche in the commentator field.

    TBH I wouldn't trust my money with anything Tim Schafer is in charge of at this point.

    Justin Bailey = famous password in the first Metroid game that lets you play as Samus w/o her suit. Bad pseudonym.

    The entertainment industry famously has a very bad track record for giving some percentage of profits back to stake-holders, setting up intermediate companies to lose money so as they don't have to pay even if a film does well. A way to cheat the taxman as well if off-shoring is added in, which quite likely happens.
    I like the idea of what Fig wants to do but unless it's tightly regulated and small investors can take part then it seems pretty futile.

    • @StopDropRetro
      @StopDropRetro  7 років тому +3

      I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of early investors in Fig were buddies with Shafer and even the name Fig comes from the Figuera which is a high end hotel they all meet at.

    Thankfully, low initial interest didn’t stop Outer Wilds from finding an audience and becoming heralded as one of the best video games to come out in recent memory.

    Whats the source of that animation sampled throughout the video?

    • @StopDropRetro
      @StopDropRetro  8 років тому +22

      Most of it is public domain educational films made by John Sutherland, a former animator for Disney.

    Oh. I wonder if that's why 5th Cell vanished off the map, because of some mislaid attention towards this platform.
    Hello there from 5 years ago; let me give myself and others an update on what has transpired.
    *Fig is dead and the Amico killed it.* Now before you _achtully_ and point to Republic, I won't exactly bet an MBA on their company surviving long either. @StopDrop&Retro I am not sure you had a crystal ball, but you were right.

    iDGi haven't received any investment yet from Fig for their Consortium: The Tower campaign which ran back in May 2016. I really hope they can manage without it because it doesn't look like it's coming.

    Whoa that's crazy, I literally _just_ heard of and looked up this game earlier today and decided I want it...tho I don't hv a PC/only hv a switch. So it's odd finding this video.
    And before anyone jumps to the algorithm, recommended, blah blah blah...nope, not that either. I found this channel via a recommendation in the comment section about Smach Z takedown video and looked it up based on that.
    Just one of those funny coincidences life throws into the mix every now and then.
