- We filmed this Monteverdi Safari A 5.7 V8 in The Netherlands at The Gallery in Brummen. We made a little test drive. We love to hear your comments and receive a 'thumbs up' on our videos. Thanks a lot!
The Monteverdi Safari is a luxury SUV first presented by Peter Monteverdi in 1976. It entered into production in 1977.[1] Production came to an end in 1982, after production of the International Harvester Scout (upon which the Safari was based) came to an end. There was also a lower-priced version called the Sahara, which retained the Scout's original bodywork with some modifications.
This film is taken at The Gallery in Brummen, the Netherlands
Very cool and rare!
Being the Safari's based on the Int Scout II, keeping one on the road wouldn't be too dificult :)
Beautiful looking rig. Better looking than the International Scout.
Is this like the only car they made in any decent numbers ?
Journey awaits Yes, I think thats right!
Wow.....
Was it before the Range Rover?
Yes
@@lionofzion81If that's the case then the Range Rover fame and fortune is due to this vehicle? That says a lot for Mr Monteverdi
Des feux arrières de citroen
So cool... anyone know how many of these were actually built?
doctor zaius They were exclusive, but I remember one in red color in my neighbourhood in Madrid until at least late 90’s. So it could be bought
200!!
@@honestguy7764 en Madrid donde??
tail lights looks like same era Peugeot Station Wagon and front light and bezel looks like Fiat sedan's front. It looks more like a car made in a backyard than a Swiss made car.
How bout you build one then?
Offended?
@@enterBJ40 no i just want to say that you should build one better than this, you seem agitated boy
rare car .... solid driveline ....the engine , an International 345 will run forever ... but is a overweight waste of gas and effort , a nicely tuned V8 engine from dodge(360) , ford(351) or gm(350) will put out equal or better performane on a fraction of the fuel and weigh much less ......poor choice for engine here ....I worked for an IH dealer for years .... these engines helped keep gas stations busy ....lol
Forget all of those and put a Ford Barra in it as I am.
A Jensen Mitsubishi Capri
Nice an very rare car, but the music sucks.
