I have been using your frugal hints for most of my life (I'm almost 79) even when others laughed at me. Thanks for educating the next generation, Sarah
I've trimmed my husband's hair and beard for over 20 years and, in return, he applies my hair colour and does a terrific job after a little coaching from me. We've saved thousands and a lot of time too. A little tip I learned from my frugal mother for anyone with short hair if you find yourself throwing out excess product when you mix the whole lot. You can just mix the two parts in a bowl in the correct proportion and only mix as much as you need to cover the roots or do a minor touch up your hairline. I get at least 2 applications from one box this way - and holy heck has that stuff gotten expensive over the past few years but it's still WAY cheaper than a hairdresser. Love these tips Sara, and I love being frugal - it's fun! Cheers from Oz
Hey. Try this coffee concoction myself and family have come up with. Omg it's so good. Think you're gonna love it! Coffee Butter Honey Splash of almond extract Splash of vanilla Apple pie spice 1 sweet n low pkt Mix the ingredients together like you're going to use the honey butter on a biscuit. Then pour the hot coffee on it and stir. Omg your gonna love it!
Thank you for a great frugal list. I've been cutting my husband's and 2 others hair since salons were closed. Going to pick up a pair of battery operated clippers. 4yrs later we have more than paid for a new pair. Only paid 12$ for the first pair on a black Fri sale.
I tried cutting my husband's hair during covid. He was in the army and they didn't have any exception to policy, so I had to, but it did not look good 😅 He didn't complain too much, but went right back to the barber shop as soon as he could 🙈 UA-cam didn't help my lack of skills LOL
Before everyone had clothes dryers, below freezing weather did not stop us from hanging clothes out to dry outside. I can dimly remember when I was a little girl, my mom and grandmother brining in the long underwear that would be standing up on its own, having frozen outside. The clothes would not be completely dry, but they would have significantly less water in them than before they were hung out.
I live in an apartmemt. Good luck with that. And I have cats. I'm not hanging my clothes aroubd the apartment for them to destroy. But hey, of you want tp base life on the past, remember they didn't have electricity, running water, telephones of any kind or motor vehicles.
Always great ideas! I use baking soda and vinegar all the time. Also, I have many ways to make coffee. I've never heard of a rechargeable lightbulb, yikes ,how did I miss that product? Continued blessings!
Hmmm- interesting what you said about Panera- used to love it too but quality went down and price went as you said- but I didn’t tie it into when it went publicly traded-think you are on to something!
Yep, that's why I've avoided them - how the heck would you keep them sanitary? Plastic and glass containers can be hand washed or run through the dishwasher. Also, I'm wondering if there will be some future study showing the effect of silicone on our health - look at all the new revelations about plastics! Cheers from Oz.
I think all your ideas are very helpful, however electric heaters probably won't save you much money. I purchased several larger heaters that have remote controls a couple of winters ago to use those while turning my furnace down very low. I ended up having an electric bill of $600 or more! Since then I have turned my furnace up instead of using electric heaters and have saved a lot of money. I also installed a blue flame indoor heater in a room in my garage that needs heat and since its natural gas it has been very inexpensive to run versus the electric heaters I was using!
Make a resolution and start it now to begin the new year in a better place. Your goal shouldn’t be just “debt free”, your goal should be financially independent. Not sure why I keep hearing debt free as a goal. That is just the very first step. I actually have a mortgage after being debt free for years, but I have a low interest rate and didn’t want to pay 15% in capital gains taxes to sell stock. I am financially independent now and no longer actively accumulate. (Wool dryer balls didn’t have any effect on my clothes.)
I figure rhe gpal is to be happy and content. And I'm finally seeing the possibility to acquire the things I've only dreamed about while my ex wife refused to work.
I love my dry rack. Besides saving electricity, I believe the dry rack extends the life of the clothes.

Hello from Germany 🙂
Hi Sara!
I was wondering how did you make those plastic envelopes for cash stuffing? I would be grateful if you could tell me.
I find silicon zipper bags difficult to sanitise
