I guess I'm ready for locs 😂
+38ktgold you know it's calling you! 😂😂😂 You just admitted it! 😂 Thanks for sharing 😀
Me too!!! Can't wait. Best wishes
Same here. I've been natural for 13 yrs and over all the work. Its super long and I'm just done.
5 hours from now I will begin my SL journey 😊😊😊 I'm so excited I can't sleep!!!
COngrats +Marie Sally! This comment was made 10 hours ago. Therefore, you should be into your cultivation session 5 hours deep? How's it going? I am excited with you. Welcome to the loc'ing community. Keep a photo journal. It helps. Thanks for sharing 😀
Marie Sally Did you get your sisterlocks? If so, how are you liking it so far?
Marie Sally I’m excited for you
I dread (no pun intended lol) combing my hair and went two months without doing anything to it. And the longer it gets the more overwhelmed I feel. because Ive experienced all these signs and I'm over crochet braids/wigs I think its time lol
Hello +tlovespeaksss! WOW two months of not doing a thing to it? Yeah I can imagine. I'm with you. As my loose natural picked up length I didn't look forward to combing it either. Thanks for sharing 😀
tlovespeaksss i feel the same way. plus i get alot of single strand knots. My lazy style is the Almighty bun butttttt My hair relaxed or natural cant take buns and puffs so i gat breakage. I daid fuck it Ive been stalking sisterlock for 10 years Im finally getting them
Hey +Wyquita Jarrell! Congrats on your decision to get them. They've been calling you for a while I see.... Keep a photo journal and savor the journey! Thanks for sharing 😀
I am so fed up of my loose hair. Unless its in mini twists, it takes up too much of my time. Had my test locks installed two weeks ago. And my installation is booked in for June.
Congrats +blackvelvetno1 for booking your date! You are all set and on your way. Take pics of the before and after and the journey. You are going to need them. It keeps you motivated. Especially through the challenges. Yes you need to be a beacon for British women. Be the inspiration for British women you were looking to find. Thanks for sharing😀
P. R. Charles Thank you. I will probably start a channel as British women don't seem to be showing their journeys on UA-cam!
i went through all of that. i stated my locs March 26th this year, 3 days before my birthday. I'm so tired of combing my hair. It was either locs or a bald head.
Yes +Antoinette. I understand fully. It came down to the wire. Glad you chose locs. Welcome to the family! Thanks for sharing 😀
Antoinette, Your reply made me smile because this is literally exactly how I feel as well... I'm so ready that I'm starting mine tonight or tomorrow. I initially wanted to have them by my birthday and that's in 3 days. I was going to delay it and do something else to my hair but every time that I think of doing another style to my hair I just don't feel it anymore. I have mini twists in right now but I actually want to interlock them so I'm washing my hair and taking these out.
I'm dying laughing right now. #4...I had surgery last week and a lady came to take my food tray and I stared her down lol! I've got all 5 of these...too funny.
Thanks +Felisha S! Look at that! After surgery and all and yet you couldn't stop staring. Now that's too funny. LOL Thanks for sharing 😀
P. R. Charles haha thanks! I am officially now a sisterloc sistah! I had mine installed in Maryland May 8th and 9th. It took 29 hours total for my fine 12" hair. I traveled from NC to MD to get the stylist I wanted and I'm so happy I did! Now I'm at level 2 stalking vids for styles.
Girrrrl you were determined and on point. LOL You said level 2. LOL glad to have you as part of the family. Please take TONS of pics. They don't push along but pull you and carry you along for the ride. Thanks for sharing again. 😀
I am so ready it's been 7 years of being natural. She hit me right on 100% I am locking my hair tonight "IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN" (Kevin hart voice). I really enjoyed your video you've made it official.
sounds like a poem lol
Thanks +fresh me. Thanks also for sharing 😀
You don't know me! Why put me on blast like this?!!! LOL! OMG...#5 was the last straw. Why fight it week after week after week. Let it do what it do...but uniformly.
LOL agreed +CarrieToo! Agreed. Let it do what it do uniformly. Stop the warring with it. Thanks for sharing 😀
100% Facts!!! I went through ALL of these steps. I'll make 2 yrs in July and I still stalk people with longer Sisterlocks 😂😂😂 Bit now ppl come up to me and ask me about my hair. Feels good😆
Look at that +TotallyFreedomTV! Now you are the one inspiring others. Love it love it! Thanks for sharing 😀
Yes to all of this 😂!!! Especially the pic collections and the stare lol. This started for me a few months ago, I'm trying to learn as much as I can and get others views to make a decision but Lord knows I want them locs!
I swear I am so starting to feel this way. Im getting so tired of my loose natural hair tangling. Its almost time for me to embrace my kinks tangling and loc
Hey +Lisette Brown! Been there. Understand fully. Your kinks want to be embraced. Thanks for sharing 😀
This was me 😂😂😂😂..... I have now been locked for almost 3 years 😊
Hey +R.L. Perine!! No more detangling! Welcome to the locked community. We love having you. Thanks for sharing 😃
you just described me in this video. I am in the process of looking for a loctician in my area, along with getting recommendation from other sisters with locs.
+veronica wedlow come on over to the loc'd side. We are waiting for you. LOL you are doing the right thing to start your journey on the right foot. Thanks for sharing 😀
You hit the nail on the head when you were talking about how we have the curliest hair, but use the smallest combs. The reasoning behind that is deep.
Yes +Mike Wilson. It is deep. It reveals a lot. It also shows we are very determined. Those fine tooth combs are no joke on the scalp lol Thanks for sharing 😀
See, I didn't even think if that angle of it. Dropping jewels. Salute.
lol thanks +Mike Wilson 😀
Yes the last one.. "Tired of fighting my hair.. It wants to loc"
I love what you are saying here! It’s so true. Black women in particular seem to be frustrated with their hair. Relaxers, curly perms, flat irons, weaves , wigs, big chop, twa, wash n go, etc. I see locs as a way of making peace with one’s hair. I think it’s best to work with one’s hair, not against it.
lol I am definitely guilty of Pinterest loc stalking. I will commit to my loc journey soon. I am beyond tired of detangling, blow drying my loose hair.
Yes +Pretty TNW! Eventually for those of us it comes to that. LoL the zest to unfurl the curl starts waning. A new adventure awaits! Looking forward with you to your new journey. Keep us all posted. Thanks for sharing 😀
I've experienced everything you say, my sisterlock journey started two days ago...so excited😖
Hey +Catherine Karachi! I'm excited with you! You've joined the loc'd sisterhood. Take lots of pics! They are great chronicle the journey. Thanks for sharing 😀
Everything you said is absolutely true now look at me 8 months loc'd and getting my first retwist tomorrow
Hey Darielle Woods! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the journey...which I know you will. 🙂
#5 is my literal explanation! I was so tired of fairy knots at the ends of my hair, and not retaining length because I always felt the need to cut.
Can't wait to start budding
Before you know it +Hilary Kelley! You will be there budding away. Thanks for sharing 😀
omg lol this is me
returned to natural 5yrs ago come this july and I am READY to loc my hair for ALL the reasons you mentioned and more. Im excited about my journey ahead. BTW you are beautiful my sister and so is your crowning glory 🙏
Thanks +raveen01! Welcome back to into the natural fold. I'm here to root you on to the loc'd stage. Thanks for sharing 😀
That was ME you described! lol! Sisterlocks was definitely without a shadow of a doubt the best thing I've ever done to my hair. Absolutely love the natural me👌 Another great video my dear sister 👏😘
Thank you +Marcia Clauzelma. Thanks for the encouragement and love! 😘😘😘Thanks for sharing 😀
I'm am too ready and you helped me see that... Thank You
Yes you are ready! 😀😀 Glad to be of help +Casaundra Reed. Thanks for sharing 😀
Literally been through all of these signs lol and I will be starting my Sisterlock journey in May! Long overdue but I'm so excited
Hey +Breanna Gilland! I'm excited with you! You are taking the plunge. Keep a photo journal it helps motivate you forward. Thanks for sharing 😀
Lord girl! 😂😂This is me. I’ve been natural for 6 years now and I just don’t have the time anymore. But, I love the look of braids and locks. I’m ready
Girl you preaching to me right now, do you hear me?!?!?!? LOLOL. I've been doing all of the above for the past 4-5 months! lol
👏👏 Amen to that. I'm currently 5 weeks in, and LOVING it.👍
@@micam.9506 Awesome and congrats, how are you managing the shift or change in styling?
Ameranese7 Yes!! When you're drawn to something you can't shake it. You stalk it! You stare at it. Can't help it LOL LOL You'd made up your mind, You're going to get you some locs! LOL Now it seems like it's everywhere! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
🙂
🙂
I checked off all these reasons but the last one was on POINT! I thought to myself my loose hair always has single strand knots (which got on my nerves no matter what I tried to get them out) and is always tangled so I might as well listen to my hair and loc it since it wants to loc on its own! The final thing that was a deciding factor was one morning I woke up and locs were involuntarily on my mind. I knew that was Spirit telling me it was time to get them (been a loose natural for 10 years, did a big chop two years ago) because I had wanted them for some years now. I'm currently 10 days in with my starter locs (two strand twists)and I'm loving it. I'm just impatient because I'm ready for them to start budding 😁
HAHAHA WOW. You described me to a Tee. I'm definitely a hair stalker and starer lol
Lol!! +Natacha Unelus! Been there myself lol. Seen this woman in a mega church in Philadelphia. Mind you she sat several rows behind me. She had this blond sisterlocked angled bob where she did a braid out. OMG I couldn't stop staring. I was praying I wasn't creeping her out. Her hair was so stunning! Thanks for sharing 😀
Your sister locks are SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
I started my Sisterlock journey this past Wednesday, March 8th!! Your list confirms how ready I was to do it because all 5 reasons you mention apply! I've been battling my loose natural hair since November 2009. I'm done.
I will be finished with the install tomorrow :-) SOOO excited!
Hey +Cee Tee Congrats! Takes tons of pics. You will be amazed as the journey unfolds. Thanks for sharing 😀
Hey +Regina Williams! Glad to hear! I'm excited along with you! Thanks for sharing 😀
omg the vine/trellis analogy is spot on
Thanks +Andres Stephens. Appreciate the positive feedback. 😀 Thanks for sharing!
Omg!!! You hit the nail on the head with all the reasons I began
It's so weird because I've always thought that sisterlocks were Beautiful but I never imagined them on myself. I have been natural going on four years now. Ive cut my hair off three times in the past four years (cause short natural hair is much easier to deal with). It's been a year since I last cut my hair and I've been thinking about getting sisterlocks ever since then. Watching this video was a sure fire sign that I neeeeeed sisterlocks in my life😂😂 Thank you so much.
#3-5!!!!!!!! I’m 7 days post install!
Everything you said is accurate lmaoo because i was working yesterday and was memorized by a customers locs and was asking so many questions and staring; i made a pinterest wall filled with locs and different styles. ive been wanting locs since i was in high school and now I'm a junior in college.. its time for me to stop being scared and starting my loc journey!
#1-5, all ☑️s
I've been going back and forth with this for a long time. I delayed my journey in order to recover from post partum shedding. My edges could be fuller but I'm just done. When you go weeks upon weeks of not washing your hair bc of detangling, that's not healthy. That's not hygienic.
Real talk, I was supposed to wash my hair today but Ive procrastinated yet again.
My pockets aren't lined for sister locs so I'm having small starters installed.
Next Saturday.
It is time.
My favorite Sisterlock video to date!
You hit the nail on the head. Years ago, I would have never thought about locking, but when I was introduced to sisterlocks, I said I really like that. So I started doing my research online and after a little bit of nervousness, I did it. I had to be sure that I was done with all of the the things you mentioned, and I haven't looked back. I love the fact that , if I want, I can just get up and go. Or if I decide to style, it doesn't take forever and a day.. Best hair decision I ever made.
Yes +Sheri Edwards. Working with the curl. I do believe in loose natural hair. It's beautiful and lovely. Just that for myself after a while it was too much work to detangle and I was tender headed. It's funny now but in all honesty as children many of us were yelled at for being "tender headed" during our hair grooming sessions. Not really knowing that the pain was so by grand design. We just didn't know. Look at all the options we have now. Love it! Thank you for sharing 😀
Laud, you don’ sealed the deal for me!!! 😘
**Snaps** I loved this. I had locs, cut them to rock my loose natural hair and now I'm loced again. I plan to stay. :)
Welcome back +Essence of Me! Thanks for the video love! Thanks for sharing 😀
Just got my sisterlocs after major stalking for 2 or 3 years. My hair is fine and loves to web together and form knots. The longer it got the harder it was to maintain. I was at the point I hadn't detangled in 3 months. I would detangle and my hair would web together again a day later. All that work down the drain. My 3 girls are natural too and their hair is twice as dense as mine. We didn't have wash day we had wash week. I would wash my hair and put it in a bun I was just over it. I was depressed over my hair and refused to go back to relaxer. Before my sisterloc install I had to detangle my hair. Omgoodness it was awful. Visions of The Color Purple flashed before my eyes. I thought the worst was over. Wrong. My stylist had to further detangle as she parted. I almost cried like a baby! She kept saying hold on this was the last time I would have to go through this. That's what got me through. That and binge watching Greenleaf lol. We finally finished day 1 was 8.5 hrs and day 2 was 20 hrs. I have pics of my hair journey from the big chop 4.5 years ago. I may post them. I'm not saying sisterlocs are for everyone but for me, I got tired of working against my hair. When I woke up yesterday morning I felt like a millstone was off my back. I was doubting all the way until a few days before I was supposed to leave for Maryland. This video helped me realize yes Felisha you are so ready! I can't wait for my locs to mature. My hair is already light and curly and bouncy and NOT TANGLED! Thank you Jesus!
Love it +Felisha S!! You honestly listened to your body, hair, and spirit. Welcome to the family. You are also setting the example for your daughters that your beauty and your body's wisdom is to be trusted. Our hair hurts for a specific reason. Our hair is meant to tangle. There is beauty in it. We are now harnessing its goodness. Thank you so much for sharing this. Namaste my beautiful friend. 😀
All 5 points are me right now...getting my sister locs next week. Can't wait
Hey +His Strength Christian Counselor! I'm excited with you!! Keep a photo journal going! It helps to keep you inspired along the journey! Thanks for sharing 😀
Stalker 🙋...getting my install this month🙌.
So on point! You described the signs to a tee. I experienced them all prior to my sisterlocks installation. I had to chuckle at point #3: Stalking. I plead guilty...lol! Great video!
Hey +Telaia S! How are you 😀 Girl I'm with you. I was an internet SL stalker and the funny thing there wasn't much to stalk online. I kept going to the SL website praying they put up a new feature. LOL Girrrrl. Beauty is beauty in all forms. Who knew it would come to stalking what our hair natural likes to do. Thanks for sharing 😀
P. R. Charles My SL journal is filled with my "stalking" pics...lol! What an authentic feeling I've developed within myself by simply allowing my hair to do what it naturally wants to do. You were instrumental in my decision to get SL and continue to be a guide on my journey. Thank you for the videos. Have an awesome week! ☺
Glad to be of help +Telaia S. To be honest I am more excited at the statement of "authentic feeling I've developed within myself by simply allowing my hair to do what it naturally wants to do" That is what happened to me and I realized the special gift of loving and appreciating what I was given to work with. It was better to bless it than to damn it. And just doing that affected so many aspects of my life. You just can't bulldoze over yourself and forget yourself in favor of mainstream. Your vote for yourself counts the most! Thank you my friend for the nuggets of gold you just shared. 😀 namaste.
P. R. Charles "Better to bless it than to damn it." I love that. You are so right. So many aspects of my life have evolved (and still are) since letting my hair live in its own truth. Since the transformation everything else has followed suit. I could no longer continue to pretend, hide or conform to that which was not natural for me (relationships, people, diet, career choice, etc.). In a sence, my hair would no longer allow the charade. Changing my hair has changed my life. Namaste 😊
You should add another tip saying: "I'll go through it even if I'm tender headed😂😂😂"
You know!!! Yep. That's what was said. Even if tender headed. Wasn't the adage "Pain equals beauty or pain is beauty". One of them 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing 😀
Yes all of what you said. Especially "exhausting" my hair style options and getting tired of doing it! My God! I couldn't wait to come up with something more permanent! And sisterlocs were definitely the answer for me. :) I never thought I would "adore" a style so much! This was a game changer for sure.
I know right?! Who knew it would be such a game changer. I mean you knew it was for the better. We just didn't know how deep this "better" would be or feel. Thanks for sharing +Taylor, Faye! hey you always had a comma in your name. Hmmm I never noticed it before. LOL girl don't mind me. Thanks for sharing as always. 😀
3 years later, I needed to hear this. I recently decided I'm gonna start my loc journey and this helped me to feel more confident in my decision.
Your presentation is hilarious but you are right! 😊
I guess I’m seriously moving in the direction towards installing Sister Locs!
You are very excited. Beautiful and a few years back
Your hair is so beautiful 😍
Thanks +kacastell1234. Appreciate the loc love! 😀
Sis. I love you. I'm sending you the energy you just sent me, which was one powerful. Thank you. It is time. Everyone keeps talking about why you aren't ready, finally a video of why you are ready! Goodness I love you. The time is now.
You just made me me want them even more
You expressed a lot of our inner thoughts.Yes it does hurt when I comb it...wanna cry!
I remember those days +oded2 ephraim2. Yep want to cry. Eyes watering. LOL Thanks for sharing 😀
1/25/2020 sister loc’d I’m so excited!!!
Congrats! I hope you get to love the whole journey :)
I LOL with your first 4 stages, especially stalking women with beautiful locs. I'm so there right now mentally. I stopped manipulating my hair and just washing, braiding, and wigging it. So tired of that as well. So it's fair to say I've been in this stage of wanting and not being able to get SL because of the finances (lack there of) associated with being a stay at home mother &wife. I'm building my own business currently and will be on course to getting them before summer. however, quick question, I've read it's best to get them in Spring, what are your thoughts?
Hmmmm I never was approached with that question before. This makes a first! But I can see some logic in it. Answering from the top of my head. Spring and summer make great months because the humidity is higher. Fall and winter hair can be a challenge for some especially if they are recovering hair product junkies. Winter hair tends to be drier and brittle. Add the SL starter shampoo, hair that is used to being slicked and slathered with products to make it soft, pliable, and manageable will not be happy. The wearers won't be happy with drier crunchy hair. Dry hair, winter hair, crunchy hair and no product can experience breakage (for the drier type hair). Especially, in the beginning when no oils are deep conditioning banned. I've cultivated locs all year round. I will be honest. I have my ways around winter hair but when instructing clients I have to watch them so they don't go overboard. Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing 😀
Tanya Prince also, there are SL training classes that occur in spring (in my area at least) and new trainees don't charge as much.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I am saving for my sisterlocks now. So excited to get them! I found a person here that is on the official list and she is very nice and has beautiful long Sisterlocks herself. I am so excited to get them. My hair was made for this.
Yes +Sav Telly it was designed to tangle, intertwine, and weave together. Thanks for sharing. I'm excited with you too. Keep a photo journal and blessings on your journey. 😀
So funny! You are not lying. I’ve done all of that😂
AMEN!!!! you're speaking my soul right now 👐 lol
All of these signs point to me! lol I've been ready but haven't yet been brave enough to take the plunge. I've been natural almost my whole life, and I'm just over it all! Detangling, stretching, styling, takedown, buying products, etc. I've also big chopped a few times. I need to just do it! :)
Yes you do +Aksis Granted! You sound like you're ready! You'll know when it's the perfect time to take the plunge. Thanks for sharing 😀
Omg I love this lol. Going through all this now. Consult in Oct. I stalk youtubers and fb people with locks lol 🙄🙄😂😂 don't judge me. Omg I don't even comb it with natural hair anymore. I just detangle with my fingers smh. It's breaking off less and less now with a different shampoo and not doing twists as much, but just manipulating it before I go out which gets old because now I need a spray bottle that doesn't leak... Or I do. It in the shower, but it's gttg cold and I'll get sick doing it that way. Siggghhh. I'm ready!
I hate how much this touched me. I'm going in
Omg I am all of these that have been described!!!! And it felt like you were literally looking directly at me and me only!!!Yes ma'am I'm ready!!!!
Thank you so much!
Wow this is so me!!! I'm subscribed just now!!!
You are just powerful! 😍
You completely described me in your video... I've been ready for a while now, especially the last 6 months and I will be starting my loc journey in the next day or 2.
Right on point!!! Thank you so much!
Pinterest! Yes!
Lol yep!! +kacastell1234. Thanks for sharing 😀
I cracked up at #4 but yeah you're right about all of them. I've been loc'ing my hair off and on since 2000 and every time I get loc fever I have all of these symptoms. I knew it was bad this time when I would see hairstyles I liked on nonblack women and imagined how much better it would look with locs. I'm now 11 months into a new loc journey.
Yes!! I am there 🤣🤣 getting my locks in 4 weeks. I can’t wait and 4 weeks feels so long.
OMG this is literally the story of my life lol... I have an appointment for a Sister Lock consultation this Saturday. I am sooo excited about it!!!!
Love all your vids, but I must say that every vid I'm hoping to see a 360 of your hair. It's so beautiful!
Hey +elease03! That can honestly be arranged. Thanks for asking and sharing. 😀
I like the last point, very intriguing.
Yeah +Woolylocs. I love the sharing food for thought. The things that make me go hmmmmmm too. LOL Thanks for sharing 😀
My Momma's locked, micro. I want them too😰 THEY'RE SO BEAUTIFUL😍😍😍
Cut my freeform locs and here I am again thinking about sister locks....haha!
That was me all the way AND in that order...LOL!!! Then I found your UA-cam channel and it was down hill from there. My Sisterlocks are 14 months old and I love them!
Oh Thanks +Serita Taylor! Glad to be of help! Congrats on joining the Loc'd crew! Girrrrrrrrl you better be chronicling the journey! Your profile looks great! Thanks for sharing 😀
LOL...thank you so much. I'm chronicling my journey on Pinterest.
+Serita Taylor okay I will check it out. 😀
You can find it under "s4156t".
I wish I could ❤ this video!!!
Yes, I have stared lol. So yes I'm ready. I have scheduled my consultation for next week. I'm excited and nervous at the same time since I've learned that everyone's journey is different. I won't know what mine will look like until it is complete.
Absolutely loved watching this video. Thanks...I had all of those signs hence I started 4 months ago.
Thank you +ThandiweKaYah! Welcome to the family!!! SO happy to see you here. Take lots of pics. You'll be so happy to refer to them as the years go by. Thanks again for sharing. 😀
Thanks, I will do just that.
Wow...I have all these signs. Also, I want better length retention. When my hair is out it breaks off but in mini twist-my go to style, it grows and keeps length. Also, I'm so done with washing, conditioning, detangling and the expensive products. My only problem is, My husband, daughter and I are moving to Montana and there are no sisterloc specialist there.
Thanks for the inspiration. I'm definitely ready to loc my hair 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
It's like your reading my mind and singing my song! I'm so ready to get my hair locked.
Great Video! I resonated with all 5
All very TRUE LOL I'm ready for my sister locks! Saving up now because I currently have 23 inches of hair. 😫 so I know it's gna be expensive.
I am so guilty of staring unapologetically LOL
I so love your videos!
I'm READY!!!
I had to laugh b/c I have done 4 of the 5 things you listed. I know that every woman's locs will look different, but my concern is that mine won't be full enough. I've been growing out a tapered cut for almost 2 yrs now and it's doing well. For the past 6 months I've been wearing it flat twisted into an updo b/c I love the time I save. I have fine textured hair and medium/average density. Just don't want them to be extra scalpy and need to find a consultant in my area..
This is my life!!!! How did you know!!!
I know ready.. Thanks hun
I'm ready for locs!
I'm locked now , just started two weeks ago
Welcome to the loc community +Teajay N!! A photo journal is a must. It will keep you motivated. Thanks for sharing 😀
I love your channel Sisterlocks Guru!!!❤️
I'm loving you! I'm subscribed!
Hey +kacastell1234! Thanks for the love, subscribing, and sharing 😀
Wonderful video. I loved it 😊
Could you do videos showing how you can do different styles with your hair, washing the hair an products to use
This is where I am.....
Yesssss I’m ready
That is the exact stare. Lol
