  • The elegant Venice Antique Show makes its reappearance in this video! Explore the wonders of our last show here as we prepare to return to the same majestic Florida beach town for this weekend's show!
The wealth of fun and fine objects in all categories of collecting span Nintendo to Chrisophle, Gucci to Moser Glass, steel wheeled toys and squash blossom jewelry! This show is a showstopper, and now is the largest antique show on the Gulf Coast all season. We find some surprising buys (iron horse head, anyone?) and some more surprising fun (a Dr. Seuss oil ad?) as we shop through this delightful antique show featuring some very good Northeastern antique vagabonds who come to sell alongside the Floridians during the high season.
It is always a pleasure to present a beautiful antique show, full of fabulously beautiful objects, great stories to hear and things you just might have never seen before! And then we bought that thing we had an eye upon...

Lots of lovely pieces in this show. Thank you for sharing this with us. Sometimes it's just fun to see beautiful objects that remind you of the reasons why you love antiques. I don't understand why people don't understand antique collectors. It's not about money ,it's about the crafts of the past. To see how things were made , back before you were born. Good luck in sales, George.

I totally agree! I do this for a living but I could go sell bleach or used cars if it was just about money. It’s the connection to people who made a lot of effort to make these lovely things that aren’t made anymore

These objects were created by craftspeople who worked for years to create fine pieces. When l was in art school, we had so much fun to spend time looking at all the objects in class. Then the American work ethic was set loose on the decorative arts, and it's just fun to watch you go at it. Thank you George for being upfront about all the details l just love to hear.🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋

Thanks, George for showing & explaining some very beautiful pieces! I've always been fascinated with the pop up books. Most you'll find are in tatters, naturally, because children are a little rough with books, but those were in mint condition. You know, with some of those very old, mint condition toys i have a theory, actually two, either they belonged to rich children that had so many toys that most didn't even get played with, or the parents were extra careful to not let their kids play roughly with their toys. Just a thought.

Good evening, George! Maybe YT will let this comment stay 🤨That Royal Art lamp was fantastic! I'm not exactly a fan of slag glass, but that lamp was an exception. I liked the look of the gothic tri-fold mirror behind the Rosewood pieces. Was it an old one? Those pop-up books would be worth getting and holding onto. They were really well done. I liked the KLM toy aeroplane. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was fantastic! I have a couple of the CCBB toys, but neither are in their original boxes. Loved the vase with the ship on it. The Limoges fish set was beautiful! I have a Bavarian fish set...the Limoges ones are a bit out of my price range. Those early perfume bottles, especially the Czech ones, make a beautiful display when grouped. Loved the glass eye! I could creep out several people with that 😂 Those Baccarat candelabras were over-the-top beautiful! I have a flamingo stashed somewhere that I need to send you, if I can find it...I'm not much of a fan. Love the horse head hitching post. WOW! That was a fantastic show! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Oh yeah...if you get a chance, check out the photos of the Nippon match holder I sent you. I'm curious what you think of it.

UA-cam had some issues on Monday, they're only now catching up...? Anyhow, I knew this one would be more fun for you and other folks who like true antiques and more "serious" collectibles because it's such a good show! I liked all the toys, I hadn't seen the Chitty Chitty before. I do really like the Limoges fish sets, but the Bavarian are often as nice. A shelf full of Czech perfumes always makes me happy! I will try to catch up and tell you more about the Nippon piece soon

Hi George! Your discussion on the slag glass lamp made me realize you may be a good person to ask this but I have a slag glass lamp that my cats had managed to make fall off my table and 2 of the panels broke. Luckily, I was able to glue them back together, but I just haven't been the same since, and I'd love to get it repaired. Do you have any suggestions as to who may be able to fix it? My concern is that the panels are curved. Otherwise, I would just have some new panels cut from different slag glass.
I tried reaching out to Meyda Tiffany as I live about 30 minutes from them in Utica, NY, but I got no response.
    You're the best.

I have a question on Lladro's. Do they come in original box's made just for the piece? If so how does NOT having the box effect the value? I was just thinking about this tonight while watching an auction.

@@TheAntiqueNomad Thank you for the answer. I'm probable better off not buying Lladro's since my knowledge is so lacking, but info is always good just incase running into a great deal.

Just curious ... all of our Business suffered, especially the markets and Shows, during the PLANdemic ... If you were so glad to have this Show back ... why are you wearing that pointless bandanna/ mask ... They never protected anyone and just keeps the whole PSY-OP going ?
For an intelligent man ... That is disappointing ...

Despite the current hype coming from the governor's office that Florida was a mask-free haven during Covid, the reality was that there were great restrictions at public events set by the (same) governor's office. So I can't speak to why we were required to have them, but we were.
