The spinning transitions on a tutorial video, probably not the best.

+das hasguns Due to the price I was on the fence as to whther i was going to buy these or the metalcloak front and rear fenders. Just like you this really opened my eyes and metalcloak will be the way to go. I thought these were complete fenders and not just an outer shell.

Looks simple enough but I'll use a cutoff wheel instead of sawzall

Remember to prime the surface that was cut. Otherwise they will rust out

My buddy has metal cloaks.. and spent about 600 bucks just for the front... versus 280. Yea they are awesome. but geese. a bit pricey. Id rather just cut into the jeep. Don't look to hard. Thanks for the Video Morris 4x4

Another thing to keep note of … there are wires that are very important for the jeep tht make it run on both sides near the trays and also paint the cut u make so no rust forms and also silicone the edge to the new fender to prevent moisture as best as possible but if u just paint it … it should be fine

i have installed these. this video is helpful and its not that hard to do. but as much as i dont want to i admit i would have been happier just buying a proper fender even if its double the price. with these you would think a full fender with a innner would maybe be like an extra 100 from smittybilt. i think the reason they dont is because the fitment is too shitty and when you have to do the minor fabrication it allows the wiggle room needed to make it work. there is a lot of trimming and fine tuning, you will have to cut the battery tray which is probably the easiest bit. again its not hard but its definitely a waste of life and the finished product leaves a lot to be desired.

Use a fine tooth blade in your sawzall and it won't grab the sheet metal like that.

This guy was hired for his movie star good looks and obviously not for his ability to use a Sawzall. :)

I have a feeling you cut into body harness on the drivers side when you were cutting from the inside of the wheelwell

Use an 4" angle grinder with cut off wheel. It doesn't shake as bad as a sawzall.

Not sure what was worse, the camera guy trying to focus, or this dude trying to use a sawzall.

hah. how much harder would it be just to weld up some skin on those fenders? some people might not want to fuck up the og sheet metal.

Just made my own flat fenders for my yj ... about $50 in steel and grinder blades and a few hrs ... if you have a jeep that u wheel ... learn how to weld .

I am not sure about the Jeep you have in the video, but I have a '78 CJ7 and the fenders are bolted on. Are the tube fenders available for MY jeep complete fenders I can bolt on, or do I have to destroy my existing fenders to attach them? I think it's kind of stupid if I have to waste time destroying my existing fenders when I would rather spend extra and have a complete bolt-on tube fender.

+mimixownzall Hi, the Jeep shown in the video is a TJ. There are tube fenders available as bolt on with little to no modifications necessary. Take a look here and see if there's something you like... www.morris4x4center.com/jeep-fender-flares/jeep-cj7/index.htm

It actually blows my mind that an aftermarket company could release a product that requires this amount of a hack job to your jeep in order to install. This garbage belongs in the trash. Don't skimp ladies and gents, go metal cloak or any of the actual quality replacements. Not this Chinese made shit.

I think UA-cam puts out a fine product. In other news, we're always working on improving our site, so stay tuned in 2019!
