- In this video I take a look at the Hotpoint washer dryer I found in a holiday cottage I recently stayed at.
With no instructions supplied, I had to guess what some of the programmes were for, but I managed to do several loads in the machine during my stay. This video shows part of a coloureds 40 degree wash after a tour of the machine.
I wasn't very impressed with this washer dryer and was glad to get home to my Bosch. - Навчання та стиль

No, I have never owned any Hotpoint laundry appliances, only a couple of dishwashers.

IRON DRY
With the iron dry setting, laundry is left slightly damp to make light work of ironing your garments. The downside is that you’ll need to iron the clothes straight away for maximum effectiveness.
HANGER DRY
The hanger dry setting is ideal for items like sweatshirts, which don’t require ironing. Any light creases will drop out when your washing is hung up.
CUPBOARD DRY
This setting ensures your laundry is dry enough to put away immediately.

I know this vlog was posted years ago, but I have to say although Hotpoint isn’t for everyone. My previous Hotpoint lasted 12 years, even then I only changed it because I wanted a new machine!! Who knows it may have gone on for longer. I must point out, they are so easy to service. I now have the Hotpoint twin dose machine which is a dream, it’s so quiet it’s amazing. I really like Miele, but I couldn’t justify £1600 for a machine !! So I saved £1000 just by buying the Hotpoint twin dose. Love your vlogs btw 😃

I never thought I'd end up watching a video on how to operate a washing machine, but as we had just purchased a house with one of those machines, and my dear wife had attacked the washing machine with a cleaner, and wiped the programme info right off, we were at a loss as to what was what. You mention not having the instructions. We have them but they didn't show the programme info! So ..... you kept us amused and it's obvious you have done this sort of demo before ... well done, but you may consider getting a life :-) Thanks for the info, and we are ready to wash. Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I really like that older generation of Hotpoint / Ariston / Indesit scrubber driers ... They were so intuitive and easy to use.
The temp dial is to reduce the temp of the set cycle and the slow spin was not staying on as the dryer dial was on a dry setting
yes ariston did start the trend, some indesit machine had them too (mainly the intergrated ones).
Ready to wear is a wash and dry in 60 minutes, dose it at 30'c. approx 25 minut wash followed by approx 35 minute dry
if your doing colourds 40'c. and set to 90'c, it will be carried out at 40'c

Iv got to be honest I didn't think when I started looking for instructions on my washing machine I would end up really laughing!!! The baby cycle tickled me pink !!!! Keep it up ibsisaic it makes a what potentially is a boring thing good fun !! 😂👍🏽
Please don't wash baby in the machine, I was mistaken. Fortunately the baby I washed came out alive, but it was a near thing. Good job I didn't select a 90 wash programme.

My parents had a made in the uk Hotpoint when I was a kid. It must have lasted 20+ years. I purchased a Hotpoint when I bought my first house. Little did I know what had happened to the company. It lasted about 3 years. I have a Miele now which I am very happy with.

Unfortunately, today many companies are making bullshit that lasts about 5 seconds on purpose, in order to make some $$$. Even LG seem to be going downhill, I saw a video where an LG was leaking during the wash cycle, and when it was paused, the door has automatically opened and all the water that was in the drum ended up on the floor including some giant thing that was in the drum

I do know what the "ready to wear" programme is, it is a programme to where the washing, rinsing, an spinning combined: takes an hour and it does the drying process right afterwords to whatever drying option you selected.

right basicaclily u have to select the tempature the same or lower from the drawer if its a higher tempature it will not start

Super wash extends wash quality and uses more water and time.hope it helps.
I have the wml720 aquarius+ and I put it on the number 6 which is a fastwash 60 and I put it on super wash and it took 6 hours

Hi can u tell me the fastest wash time setting. Sometimes we need to wash fast so I could not understand the timings. 60 minutes r too much for fast wash
these were branded ariston in aus and hotpoint ariston in eu countries
I put a wash in last night around 11pm at number 1 and super wash. It is STILL going at 9.30 this morning. I dread to see the electric bill. 😫 I cannot get to grips with this machine. Every setting is 4 hours plus
On an average, how many minutes does this washing machine take to wash and dry and what settings is faster please.
My old hotpoint first edition washing machine use to make that noise which was loud and annoying glad I’ve got the new hotpoint smart washing machine which is more quiet

ready to wear is a program where you can wash a shirt which you haven't worn in a long time. The program just washes it on cold, rinses and spins. Hope this helps☺

HELP!!!!! how do you simply hot cotton wash on this piece of C*** without any dry cycle, thanks to these washer dryers the black mould issues are appauling moving into rentals, just moved in :( trying to rid this contraption of the built up immovable mold!!! that dryer dial is hard to understand, no > OFF < plus the damn hotpoint manual doesnt even explain symbols, goes on n on about drying only but how do you WASH ONLY pleeeeeeeeeease not pressed ON yet, have it set to 90degrees 140 spin and currently the dry dial on the shining sun symbol?!
The cycle status doesn’t switch to Rinse until after the Wash Inter Spin.

The slow spin select button won't stay on because it only works on certain programs
Anyone know how to cancel the dry after the wash? Just as it’s shrinking clothes after the wash when drying, lost a good top to it
This isn’t my machine so I can’t tell you, though I’m sure the drying cycle is easy to cancel, in fact I think you have to purposely select it. If you haven’t got the instruction book, just google the model followed by instructions and you may find them online.
This machine has a 1200rpm you can tell coz its a WDL520 if it had a 1400rpm spin it would be a WDL540 and I think you get the rest. Its from around 2008/2009 also it probably was made in Wales as it has the WMA drum in 2009 they moved production so these aren't as bad as you think these are actually really good machines and were the last good Hotpoints before they became worse.
They should call you washing machine fan 26 instead
Hi, I have this exact one but when its drying the clothes the water isnt emptying and all the lights light up. Is there a container I need to empty as cant find one anywhere
It's a Flashing light error code go and look what it means on the hotpoint website or youtube and fix it of cheap or buy a new one it's been a decade
I need to know why the light at the top right corner is only showing Orange and does not start washing! Anyone with knowledge on that, arxl 145 is the machine, but the same style on most of this machine.
The slow spin is disabled because it’s not for the cycle
on those machines when u tap a option and the light flashes , that means u can not select the option

hi I have this machine and it's started making a right racket just before it starts to spin but while it's spinning it's fine. any ideas?
No idea sorry. This was the machine supplied in a holiday cottage I stayed at.
All sorted now it was a Bobby pin stuck in the filter/pump!

This one was actually made in the UK as it still had the Hotpoint drum the ones made after 2009 with the Indesit drum aren't though including current ones
Nothing wrong with Hotpoint, just had a new one after our WDL model finally went.

I had this model and it lasted less than 4 months in my house. I hated it that much I gave it away. noisy. never washed very well and after the spin you could still wring water from the clothes...
Need to get a new door as the I accidentally broke it trying to open it too firmly. Any ideas?
Just Google the model number followed by spare parts or door and you will find websites selling spares.

@precious Kitty My washer is similar and it takes 1 hour and 25 minutes mine is a Hotpoint WMF740 washer but one advantage of mine is that it has a timer which counts down to zero. It is the same noise level as this but I don't mind it as I am used to noisy machines xD also mine is a 1400 spin Hotpoint washer too WMF740P

The main wash is the smaller compartment the washer is a nightmare. I used the dryer and it over heats damaging and over creasing my clothes really badly. 🤦♂️
We won’t use the dryer function, it ruined hundereds of pounds of clothing - the dryer is truly terrible!
People commenting seem to forget when they are condemning the quality of these machines that generally they are o.k. and suit millions of households and considering you can buy 4 of these for 1 Miele is it not surprising that people have to make do!
Lower end washing machine's you buy today cost less than they did over £20 year's ago so they won't be of the same quality of build.
I didn’t know that Hotpoint washer dryer has a WMA drum. But it normally has an indesit drum
Lol me and neibour both got a WML 540 in 2008 and mine in 2009 she had the WMA drum and I had the indesit one I think they changed it so some.models you can see the change

thought it be a clockwise spinner with that drum :) Shame they are too noisy.
It's noisy because it uses a carbon brush motor, which I think there not reliable and there very VERY noisy. I just like inverter motors better.

The reason the slow spin didn't work at the beginning of the video is because that function doesn't work with slow spin well thats what i think anyway.
Its due to the drying activated as it needs to get rid of all the water and moisture to dry effectively

This machine has no prewash. The small compartment in the drawer is not used for anything.
every time i do a wash they are coming out covered in white marks,i only put small amount of soap powder in and also washed without powder and still comes out white how can i resolve this
Your washing machine may need a maintenance clean. Get some biological powder or a washing machine cleaner such as the one made by Dettol and put the machine on empty at the hottest programme and see if that improves things.
Try to do a maintenance wash with some washing machine cleaner at Cottons 90 no prewash no drying and slow spin
