@@I_am_a_cat_Uber late to this, but there is use for Dodges In casual play, because when running back and forth doing missions, you have to Backtrack large areas, and post game the CP earned doesn't not justify the time wasted even if you clear the battle In 15 seconds, 2-3k CP are fine at chapter 11, but when Crystarium costs are 60k/120k per nod, you start to feel slowed down by some encounters
The single gun attack you're talking about is actually slower than one of Lightnings regular slash attacks. The Skytank encounter really shows off how powerful she is at that point in the game, Especially if you take the time to Upgrade Gladius and the Strength-Based accessories.
In FF13-2, DLC Lights use their gunblades against out of reach enemies, Like Bahamut In 500 AF, In fact, Ravager Lightning uses the -strike spells with her gunblade In less than 2 seconds, it drives the chain gauge through the fucking roof, Its amazing
Doctor's Code potions were actually still useful when I got to Gran Pulse as I remember still using them in Sulyya Spring as they werebettee than cura. I only replaced them once I unlocked Curasa/Curaja on vanille/hope

I'm glad there's a good run of this game. I tried really hard to get into it because the music and graphics are great. I got as far as the game's calm lands (or whatever they're called- the big field) and couldn't stomach anymore.
Chapter 11 is longer than the previous 10 chapters combined. I agree the games is very average up to chapter 11, but that's where the game finally shines.
You just stopped before the game actually got really good :( Chapter 11 is non linear as opposed to the rest of the game. It's also huge. You can spend all of your time in that chapter.
Ye second playthrough I am suffering until I am allowed to choose team (and then to a lesser degree until I can make people effective at their non-default roles)
It's because the game doesn't give you the freedom to select anyone you want and 3 character parties for that long (which is unfortunate). That's where the real fun begins imo in terms of RPG ing
I imagine this game is tough to commentate over since there are no cutscenes and that's when a lot of talk happens, but this couch was still pretty frustrating. Not great explanations, very scattered, no talk on the story. Idk. Just my two cents. The FF7 run by AJNEB had the best couch imo
well yeah they skip most the content by dodging fights and skipping cut scenes, without being able to use exploits and glitches it would take them along time to beat it as well. Speed running sucks all the fun, challenge, and content out of a game in favor of beating it faster.
Baby Spine This run is glitchless as far as I remember. And by exploits, do you mean very specific, well thought out strategy? Nothing wrong with that.
Baby Spine Spoken like somebody who doesn’t know a thing about speedplay. The speedrun strats for a lot of games can be harder than just playing the game normally and require absurd amounts of practice. As for sucking out the fun, people wouldn’t get involved in it if they didn’t enjoy it. Runners usually have 1000s of hours in the games they run, so it’s a way to use that considerable knowledge whilst keeping the game interesting. Plus, there’s all sorts of categories, even meme categories. Not everything is any%, a lot of people play without glitches.
They've probably completed the game multiple times and attempted multiple speed runs so they end up memorising little things like how to effectively dodge enemies. They probably didn't just 5 hour the game the first time they played it like you lol
It's really disappointing they don't explain the story. The best speedruns not only show you the secret exploits, but also recap the story explaining things you may have missed. But for them to instead repeat "the story doesn't matter", it makes this speedrun uninspiring and incredibly boring.
Too bad he's faster than Fang in every way. In a Plat% Run the main team to use is Fang, Lightning and Snow as they are the fastest and most powerful characters to use.
This run also doesn't do anything illegitimate. There's actually no form of technical rng manipulation. There's practical manipulation, like waiting till party members attack before staggering to change what commands the ai use and so on but there really isn't any genuine glitches or manip in this category at all.
@@89Dustdevil Everything about FFXV other than the gameplay is really good. The characters are all really likable and well-written, the story is a bit confusing but still really good, the OST is the best of any FF game IMO. The problem is, the game just isn't fun lol. It's the same repetitive quests and braindead combat. If they overhauled the actual gameplay, it could actually be one of the best FF games to date.
