John Starks was the heart and soul of that team, he played with so much heart and sacrifice every time. He will always be a legend in my opinion.
John Starks is the only sole reason why I started liking the New York Knicks more often. He played with so much passion, heart and determination. He is definitely one of my favorites to watch growing up. Still til this very day, I still have a couple of his jerseys.
Yeah, same here. My fav player.
Starks is my favorite player ever
Starks in his prime off of his energy defense alone was a easy top 10 shooting guard in the 90s.
JORDAN
CLYDE DREXLER
SPREEWELL
MITCH RICHMOND
REGGIEMILLER
JOHN STARKS
ALLAN HOUSTON
EDDIE JONES
JR RIDER
John starks was my favorite player to watch in the 90s ! He played with heart passion and fierce intensity! The battle between him n Reggie was epic! John was fearless... He never back down from anyone including MJ. JOHN IS A NEW YORK LEGEND.
Man I still reference John Starks Charles Oakley Anthony Mason that whole entire Knicks team what a defense man. I was such a Starks fan I had the poster of "The Dunk" I was lucky enough to buy from a sports vendor in the subway.
Yeah that team was awesome. Loved all them guys.
Great video. Many thanks from Poland. John was mine great inspiration. All I ve seem about him shows great court fighter and friendly personality on the m her site of the court.
Hey I appreciate the comment. I am Polish (mozemy mowic po Polsku) Thank You for appreciating the video. I am a Knicks fan since 1994, there will be more videos of such coming on different players so make sure to subscribe.
@@TheNBAGoat no to mnie zaskoczyłeś.
Pozdro z Gliwic
Excellent Starks video ! John is my favorite NBA player of all time ! I loved the emotion he played with every game. He loved the game. That was a great watch. Thank you for making it.
Thank man. I appreciate the good words. Been a Knicks and a Starks fan since 1993. Long time but was always looking for a good Starks video. Not many and very short usually. Decided to make my own. There will be more Knicks as I keep making videos. Hope I was able to show something in the video even a true fan like yourself didnt know.
Same for me and watching John today gives same great emotion.
It is unbelievable that someone fits so perfect in someone else way of playing basketball. It would be my dream to meet Mr.Starks personally and say Thank you.
I wish these young players on the Knicks would play with the Energy and heart that starts play with. Starks played every game like this, there’s a few players that played in New York Who never got bored!!! John Starks is one of them!
First time I ever saw him he came off the bench and didn't seem to give a F*ck that he was guarding Jordan. Dude was maybe 6'3" and had to guard MJ as his career progressed and the rivalry intensified and he never made any excuses. Love that guy to death.
He was actually 6'5
Favorite player all time, why his number isn’t retired in the garden really bothers me #3 GO NEW YORK GO NEW YORK GO
Seriously!!
@@futurepullmusic not that ridiculous. He should be retired because he embodied what we loved in NY. He did make an allstar game and he was 6th man of the year....He was streaky as a shooter but the man never quit and ALWAYS D'ED UP.... He was part of those playoff contenders. Just forget the numbers and look at the total undrafted package.
@@futurepullmusic he also was the first player in nba history to make 200 three pointers in a season
I didn't like Mr. John Starks his game was crazy i liked him because he was a SOLDIER a WARRIOR a BATTLER a FIGHTER
I Love It So Damned Much Whe Starks Dunked On Grant And Jordan Hell Yeah!!! 😂🤣
You already know what I think about this video.... awesome
Thank You. I would appreciate a subscription. More Knicks and other bios coming in future. Thanks for taking the time to watch.

And Kevin Johnson
What a great tribute to John Starks. I am such a big fan, only meeting Starks once, this past June 2023 at a Grand Opening for Optimum Online in NYC. He signed my fan memorabilia book I created many years ago. We took many pictures at the event. I will never forget Starks. Watching him playing, against Jordan and almost winning the NBA championship against Houston, I cried myself to sleep that night they lost, I actually cried myself to sleep. But I at least got a chance to shake his hand. The 13-year-old me resurfaced, watching him play and battle other NBA greats, was the highlight of my teen years, years that I would have otherwise spent in solitude.
Thank You. I appreciate the kind words
I rock his jersey out of pure respect. He played his heart out for my home city. NYC will always have love for John Starks FACTS.
100% right
@@TheNBAGoatHe's actually more like 6'5. You said 6'3.
Awesome video. Starks was my favorite player as well.
Also my favorite player of all time. Watching from Brazil, I learned what is like to play with our whole soul. I will be always a knick because of John Starks.
My 100% favorite Basketball player of all time. I still wear that #3!
Me too friend. Unfortunately I dont have his Jersey.

Love this❤
Much appreciate it. My favorite player.
pls tell me who u all feel was better in the playoffs between the 96 + 97 knicks + when they went far in the 93 + 94 playoffs do u all feel like it was more cuz of starks becoming a starter or the acquiring of kimble rivers smith + eventually harper cuz in the 95 + 96 playoffs starks was a starter + they lost in the semi finals + pls tell me how u all feel about the 93 + 94 knicks not being as elite as the 64 warriors who were led by chamberlain
What you mean not super talented? He was super super talented.
Thanx for this video starks is an all time Knick great
My favorite Knick. As a young Knicks fan growing up in the Bronx, Starks story of making it always resonated with me. He was BUILT for the CITY, even though he was from Tulsa. He was truly FEARLESS, and was a all NBA defender in the era of Jordan.
True. He was my fav as well in 90s
Loved John Starks
Great story so close to my heart when i was in high school and NBA just started in Poland. The day i saw The Dunk determined my basketball play. Mr. Starks is most influential player for me ever.
Damn You Polish ? Me too

Great job
I love John Starks!
Yeah wish I could interview him. Would be a dream.
Liked and Subscribed. Great video
I appreciate it. If you have anyone that also would be interested please recommend. Thank You
Ouch
What do you mean "Ouch" ?
I think that the games in the playoffs where John didn't shine shouldn't be held against him. Like Oakley said, Ewing was never that A level player that he needed to be. Superstars need to take over games and dominate in the playoffs. And Ewing was always outplayed by the real A level players like MIke and Hakeem.
I’m sick he said he was a tough son of a bitch after starks just mentioned his mother 😮😅😂
Lol
Beyond overrated!! Never dunked on Jordan
This is everything Fam.
Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Starks is my fav Knick of all time - I appreciate this a lot. 🟧🟦✊🏽
