Karl may be overused, but this Looks doll was the first Karl in my budget until I found the Tooth Fairy at Marshall's. She is one of my favorite sculpts. I felt sorry for the Ken: looks like a high school gym coach, like, a guy who failed at some great athletic career then had to resort to teaching to have anything to do with his sport :P The Exclusive doll is my favorite - so stunning! I don't have membership, so I bought her nude for $30, free shipping off a resale site. I sew clothes, so I wasn't so disappointed in not getting her outfits/accessories. In a group recently, someone asked what we wish Mattel would bring back/ what we missed, and this video really highlights a major difference: outfits. Unless you get at Extra or a playset, most dolls come with the bare minimum: shoes and a one piece clothing item. That Generation Girl - vest, shirt, dungarees, 2 pair shoes, a chair, backpack, dress, detailed makeup kit with curlers, a phone, and bottled water - came with an insane amount of items compared to most dolls today. Outfits with layers, pieces you can mix and match, plus accessories that are actually for the doll not a cartoonish, odd sized "pet". Some kids only get one doll, and of course, there's always the first doll, so the more items with the doll the more ways the person can play with it.
OMG!! I had Nichelle when I was 10 or 11 💛💛💛 She was such a cool doll with cool accessories and 2nd outfit . This was the beginning of the end of the best of Barbie in my opinion. So nice of your friend to send you wonderful gifts 🎁 Thanks for sharing 👍
I love that they added a new body type for Looks male dolls. I also want to see Broad and Slim male bodies in the Made-To-Move format. However, I definitely think that all the Made-To-Move body sculpts could use some fine-tuning. The knees on most of the body types should have all the gaps reduced when the leg is in the extended position. Those gaps don't offer any additional articulation, and they're just unsightly. I also think that the ankles need to be refined, so that there is a smoother transition from the ankle to the foot, especially on the Curvy body. Similar refinements to the elbows and wrists would be nice, but the legs really need attention. They could probably also tweak the rotator joints at the shoulders and hips as well, but those generally don't look too bad. And I wouldn't mind seeing a new joint at the top of the pelvic bone, so that the torso can move a little more. Right now these bodies are very stiff torsos with very flexible limbs, and there are often poses I'd like to create that the bodies can't achieve. I'm also a bit disappointed with the range of motion of #18/Tate's body type. I don't like that his legs can't raise up higher, so he can sit up straight. He can't even sit with his spine at a 90° angle to his legs. And his elbows and knees have a double joint, but the bulk of his muscles impedes some of that movement, they don't offer much more articulation than a single joint. I don't mind the larger feet on this body, and I think the Broad and Slim bodies should have feet sized to those bodies as well. But that means we need SHOES for all these body types. Honestly, Mattel knows we're all crazy about shoes, and the fact that they don't regularly offer shoe paks is just insane to me. Shoes are super cheap to produce, the markup on them is insane. They're really leaving money on the table. For that matter, Chinese sellers on Amazon could fill this void, and it's odd to me that they don't. I am really liking the new Lina. Her top would be called a 'body blouse' because it incorporates leotard/bodysuit construction, but is intended to be worn as a blouse, with a skirt or pants. I of course had to boilwash mine, so her hair lays nice and flat, and I paired the yellow halter with the aqua pants. Not sure if I'll keep her like that, but I love that she came with additional garments. Of this assortment, I think my favorite is #17/Brandon. I like them all though. I really love #16/Andra and #14/Elle. I gave the new Andra a very Barbie And The Rockers aesthetic, her makeup and hair really seemed to want to go in that direction. And because we now have multiples of several face sculpts, I decided to rename them. #1/Lina and #19/Lina have become Angelina and Carolina. #2/Elle and #14/Elle have become Gabrielle and Danielle, #6/Victoria and #13/Victoria have become Tori and Vicky, and #8/Andra and #16 Andra have become Alexandra and Cassandra. I also decided that #15/Karl is "Karla". I'm really looking forward to seeing new sculpts in this line, and some old favorites.
Lina is my favourite from this wave, too! Love the gifts from Steve! (Especially Nichelle!) Since this wave has bold colours, I hope they do pastel colours next! Great video!

Asos is mostly accessories and shoes - we have local shops here in Denmark as well. Usually it's Americans who get all the doll stuff in stores, and those of us in the EU miss out ;)
I got Gym Tate today, a little bit of wonky eyes too, but I don't mind at all. My favorite part is that his hands are perfect for holding the wheel in Barbie vehicles.

I understand where you're coming from when you talked about #18’s feet. However, a lot of past Ken shoes (and Shadow High male shoes) fit him perfectly.

The pink shirt from the Looks Giftset that has an attached bottom is called a bodysuit. I would recommend using action figure/GI Joes shoes for the new buff guy. The shoes from the BTS dolls will fit the buff guy as well.
Barbie looks 19 has a lot of Persian and Egyptian influences, so it’s safe to say she is meant to racially look like she is from that part of the world.
I hope more blonde and blue eyed Barbies get created they’re rare you may think I sound like a clown but what I mean is literally nowadays it seems like blonde blue eyed Barbies are almost exclusive to Millie. And it was really nice to See Andra be the Barbie look without being Millie
I agree with what you said about Karl. I would prefer to have MOTM Nichelle, Daria, Marisa or Mermaid in Looks line instead of Karl. I can´t wait to see what headsculpts will Holiday AA, Asian and redhead have. :) I still believe in Nichelle 1990 sculpt for AA. :D
They’re yellow this year with a tied over the shoulder cape. They also have silver star detail over the yellow mesh. They’re alright, I guess.. I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
My favorite is the new body ken and I’d like to see more looks in general lol I love these dolls so much and they’re my main dolls for collecting Barbie with them I wouldn’t collect much of Barbie I will say I hope they slow down lol I unfortunately can’t afford them I only have two from the metallic collection and have a lot of catching up to do which is made harder every time they release a new wave lol
Love #19! Wish the outfits for the others were all two pieces and maybe the color scheme was a bit more cohesive across this wave. Would have been cool to be able to mix and match between the dolls. I think #14 is the only other wave 3 female with two pieces.
My criticism of the new buff body is he can’t touch his face easily, it’s even more confusing because the original version can. And the molded on underwear being so high ofc.

there is a self care blonde Barbie with a puppy and a spa set that used the Olivia headsculpt with a Millie screening and she is absolutely gorgeous!

since you have seen the leaked photos of the holiday Barbies this year, can you tell us if the gowns are better this time or still lackluster?
