      @@petcuyvers No they aren't. There's some great tear down reviews showing there is nothing different in assembly or design than other batteries. I was just reading a review last night that shows the 120X internally and it is no different in its assembly than Kings. Nothing in there to protect the cells or BMS from heat at all. The tests also showed that the stated specs of the 120X including total capacity, useable capacity, discharge rate and temperature protection were completely incorrect.

    The itechworld 120X pro has 120ah total use which makes it a 150Ah rating. It has IP67 which means you can put externally rained on and in dust..
    Can the Hardkorr be placed externally ie outside under cover? What is IP rating. Can it get wet and resist dust?
    The Enerdrive B-Tech 120ah can only be inside as not sealed unit which in canopy gets very hot in sun.
    Redarc also needs to be under cover, doesn’t say IP rating.
    Most of ratings are conducted at 25deg to keep a standard. If you watch charger they derate as battery temp is measured.

      I said the Itechworld was pretty good, I would have got one if they had Bluetooth. The 100 usage I'm still unsure about, can't see anywhere about it actually being 150Ah all Lithium are 100% usage, but best practice is 80% usage for long life.

    No disrespect intended but I'd like to call out a couple of things. Internal bluetooth monitors are inaccurate when compared to a shunt based monitor. Specifying life cycles without the depth of discharge means very little. Glad to hear you haven't had any issues with the product not that I'm alluding to the brand being unreliable however there are better value batteries from other Oz companies who build their batteries (Not referring to Kings or iTech). Thanks for sharing

      Hey mate, thanks for watching and sharing your feed back 😊
      My understanding is the Bluetooth inside the battery is the same as a shunt it's just one step earlier then the terminal. I've been given an Aussie built battery that I'm able to open when I do my review so we will get to see in that battery how the Bluetooth is weird up.
      Agreed their is some great Aussie batteries coming through, I am now being offered them to review so you will get to see them soon 😊

      @@Off.Track4x4 Have never heard of a inbuilt shunt as part of the internal BMS and bluetooth. There's a lot of material on the net regarding this topic and I'm yet to come across any batteries (at the price point which we're discussing :) ) which are able to monitor the power usage as accurately as an external system. Of course, you can always add an external shunt later if you feel the need. My point was to highlight that internal monitoring isn't worth the additional cost compared to external, in my opinion. Cheers.

      I don't believe any lithium should go under the bonnet of a car so I don't want to mention it. When I worked at TJM we would provide a different warranty if mounting the HD air compressor under the bonnet, it could technically handle being under the bonnet but it was not happy and dramaticly shortened the life span. In my eyes that means it should not go under the bonnet, same for every lithium battery, just because it can doesn't mean they should. Does that make sense? I don't know Just my thoughts 😊

In the past I have bought cells from Alibaba and made my own battery, but as nice as the HardKorr battery is, I would probably buy a battery from Mueller Energy next time. • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4  4 місяці тому

      Hello Rich, I have a video coming out soon on it. I guess it all depends on what your purpose is for an inverter?
      If going in a canopy great choice 100% recommend, amazing build quality like no joke put together really well, has a brilliant sleep mode with crazy small Amp draw, the Amp loss during inversion is also low. Has a safety switch which is must these days, remote switch included. If you plug it into 24v you then get 3700W.
      If it's for a caravan then things get a little bit more tricky. And the answer isn't as simple.

      Yes that makes sense. Well I’m considering buying one for my caravan. We have 600ah’s of lithium batteries 12v and 800watts of solar on the roof. And the caravan has been pre wired for a inverter with 240v AC input. We will be using it for things like the microwave and toaster and coffee machine etc. I’d be interested to know your thoughts?

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4  4 місяці тому

      I will be swapping out the 2000w inverter in my caravan for my 3000w hardcore one, BUT we do not stay in caravan parks and very rarely are plugged into 240v so restricting the maximum power draw of the van to 3700w is fine for us.
      The down side to the hardkorr inverter is that it doesn't come with a automatic transfer switch. This feacher means when you plug into mains power the power transfers through the inverter giving you full capacity of the caravan parks power. You need to spend 2k+ to get an automatic transfer switch in an inverter.
      Hardkorrs instead uses the 240v to power the inverter bumping the power usage from 3000w to 3700w.
      Each caravan park has different size circuit breakers so it's hard to tell if you will be restricted using the hardkorr inverter at a caravan park. Does that all make sense?

Why give a negative tick when your comparing different amp rate of battery. Not the manufacturers fault if they dont produce a battery of a particular size. Get a 140 amp/hour and give the Hardkoor a negative tick!! I often take my ITech 120 down to 100%...have done for 4 years with no issues. Capacity is 95% at 12 volts still! How many hours before the Hardkoor hits 12 volts>..thats the important thing...giving 12 volts ..not 11.5 volts at 85% of capacity.
