  • Whoo! This is gonna be a long one! Grab some refreshments and plan to settle in. This video ended up being WAY longer than I'd intended.
Let's make 2 hardcover journal covers together. 2 different styles.

I always enjoy watching your teaching tutorials and I love your use of painted fabric on your book covers. I have been watching you for a number of years and so glad you are back to crafting in your fabulous playhouse. Thanks for all the tips and tricks and I look forward to watching Part Two.

There's a wonderful t-shaped tool available to help keep the top edges of your front back cover and spine lined up and create the same spacing between..so worth it!
P.S.I see you got one similar see you bought one similar but the set I have is much more versatile, there's about five pieces and the t-shape goes across the top and has a stem that gives perfect spacing to the spine

Hello, I’m now a new subscriber to your Channel. I’m new to journal making, so clicked in you when I saw you were making covers. It’s the one part of journal making that I’m rubbish at, which isn’t good, as it’s the first thing you see! lol! Anyway, I look forward to your next video and will have a peek at previous ones. Thank you for explaining everything so clearly, it really makes a big difference! ❤

Hello Dawn, nice to see you again. I pray that you are doing well. This is going to be super nice. But then again, all of your projects are. If only, I had my own creative space to work on projects in. Someday 😮. Thanks for sharing your time, talents and inspirations. Take care young lady and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas

No worries about the "chip" expression, all guys are that way 😊, just the way God designed them to be. I'm not really into Xmas designs but I like your pom pom and laces trims, would be beautiful in a Spring journal design. Yep, I'm already tired of winter and technically it hasn't even started down here in the south. God bless you. Becky B

Hi Dawn, thank you for making another tutorial. I've followed your previous tutorials and have used them numerous times! Even though I've been making journals for years I still like to watch tutorials and learn new ways of doing things. I didn't know about the opposing chipboard grain when layering them for sturdiness. I'm going to try that next time as some of my books warp despite having used heavy weight chipboard that I doubled or even tripled.

I'm sure you'll find opposing the grains is a game changer! Thanks for stopping by!
