  • Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is a hub of innovation and progress. With its well-planned infrastructure like its wide, well-maintained roads that has minimal traffic congestion and modern architecture, Abuja is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Lagos.
From the beautiful recreational parks to the vibrant cultural scene, Abuja's attractions are a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage.
But Abuja is more than just a pretty face. The city boasts well-planned markets, like the famous Wuse Market, where you can find everything from traditional clothing to local crafts. And with its organized layout and clean streets, Abuja is a city that truly has something for everyone.
Plus, its masterful urban planning has created a sense of community and tranquility, making it a more popular choice for families and professionals alike.
Abuja is a city that truly has something for everyone.
So, how does Abuja compare to Lagos? Let’s find out in this video where I had a discussion with a resident of Abuja who has also lived in Lagos briefly.

This is what we've been clamouring regarding Lagos roads, concrete roads with open gutters, and no plan to plant trees and parks that would change the face of Lagos. Well done 👍 Gbolahan

My beautiful, serene and organised Abuja. Tbh if not for Abuja, I would probably never visit Nigeria of my own volition.
Lagos has nice places, but not worth the stress and "gra-gra" imho.
I treasure my peace and sanity.
I agree that Abuja needs a BRT too, although there used to be public buses when I first visited Abuja.
In the area of intracity transport, Lagos has gotten it right imho.
What they call "public buses" in Abuja are not even befitting for the city. No organised system or bus stops with seating. People are crowded on major corners fighting to get onto crowded small mini buses. They used to have actual city buses that were of a high international standard and they need to be reinstated.

Abuja don't need Brt because the road are well planned, wide, no traffic

This are no fault of the FG but your greedy governors that neglect their duties to develop their state and allow migration to Lagos.
All the states get allocation and also generate their IGR ask them what they do with such humongous amount of money. If you hold your state governors and local government accountable then no need to express hatred to the development of Lagos. Lagos is not even given preferential treatment, infact the nation is supposed to give Lagos special status for doing the jobs of other state.

Lagos can't be compared to Abuja in terms of road construction. Lagos is already a built up city unlike Abuja that was built from scratch as a virgin land. To construct a wide road in Lagos now will make the government demolish many buildings and paying compensation will be too high considering the commercial value of Lagos property.
Abuja is FCT and enjoy special status too.

Stop blaming others for the failures of the successive governors who have ruled your state. It is impossible for the FG to develop any state. Only the governor and the LG chairman can do that.

This comparison is the most unnecessary thing i have...are u tryinh to downplay the efforts of LASG??

I’m not downplaying the effort of Lagos State, in fact I have always given my support to Lagos state. We as lagosians just have to do better not just the government.
Lagos is the smallest state in the country and it’s has the highest population in the country as well. A lot of people see Lagos and believe that is Nigeria, which is not. Other states in the country also have something to offer as well.

@@Iamgbolahan so how is that the fault of Lagos state government that 20 million nigerians converge in their state?..are they holding others states from opening up to accommodate nigerians?or u expect them to demolish buildings and houses on d road so they can expand the roads to keep accommodating more and more nigerians?or how did u make a video that supposed to be about abuja and found a way to Rob lagos into the vidoe using mile 2 as point of reference to downplay lagos when some residents have never even been to mile 2 in their lives...they have left capital for u ppl but still u make all ur comparison about them..u creators really have to do better..show off other states and whatever they have to offer and stop comparing them to lagos all d time ..

@@chincherriThe Nigerian government has for years favoured Lagos development over development of other states, which caused people to flock there. They set up the system to favour Lagos. Even the ports, there should be many in Nigeria but others are deliberately left so as to sway the business economy towards Lagos at the expense of other states. This was since Lagos was the capital, until now. Even the oil companies headquarters are in Lagos, while the oil is taken from another region.
These things are and were deliberate, so they will bear the fruit of disproportionate influx of people to Lagos.
If you want people to consider elsewhere, be prepared to give up the Lagos dominance over some parts of the Nigerian economy.

Nobody is down playing Lagos here, is just comparison, they are just talking about the plan of the city and not their economy value
