With all due respect to his excellent skills, the thing I actually miss the most about Marko in Nightwish is not Marko himself but the vocal chemistry he had with Floor.
I think it was quite a big misstep to acquire bass player without signing skills. He might be a great guy and friend but strong male voice is missing now, the new guy with pipes cannot do it all.
@@rashaverak666 Troy is different - he is not pretending to be Marko - his voice has different characteristics and strengths - Marko cannot be replaced on a like-for-like basis - just enjoy the difference Troy brings to Nightwish.....
Floor and Marko's musical chemistry goes all the way back to Floor's first band After Forever! Marko has co written songs w/ Floor and appeared on songs w/ After Forever. (Remember, After Forever toured w/ Nightwish so Floor was friends w/ Tarja, Tuomas, Marko, Empuu and Jukka back then!!). Floor and Marko also performed w/ Ayreon and other projects together, they go way back before Floor was in Nightwish!
Yeah, there's a reason when they needed someone ultra talented in a pinch they thought of Floor when Anette wasn't able to perform.
Most singers have to work hard to convey sensuality. Floor just has to stand there.

Great Tarja era song, But...for me, this song needed stronger Umpf, and thanks to Floor, now this song has full Valhalla Power behind it.

It made it onto two U.S. film soundtracks. It reached #60 in the UK Singles Chart, the highest of any of the band's singles in the UK.

I miss Marko. This is the first tour they worked together. You might check out the documentary "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours". Which is what happened when Floor joined the group mid tour.
Actually, they toured together once before, when Floor's first band After Forever toured Europe as Nightwish's opening act.
Yes, Marko and Floor fit their voices together so damn well! I miss Marko! You can tell it was early in the set - Tuomas had not yet head-banged his hat off! A taste of "She Is My Sin"? With you there, bro!
One of the many adorable moments, when Marco introduces Floor, and she does the curtsie with sort of that sweet, almost bashful smile of hers 😊 And that next track, "She's My Sin", is to me some of Floor's best vocal work in this concert, and that's saying something, because the whole show was great! Might be my favorite of the Wacken show, she's just so damn good!! And of course the band and crew are just dynamite. At this point Jimmy just do the whole concert if you want...there are no lame songs, so don't worry about that. They're all excellent. Peace!

The song was written out of frustration and anger. Tuomas had been at a bar , with his then girlfriend, and all the guys there kept hitting on her. Even those that knew they were dating. I think this song had to have profanity edited out later, when he calmed down and sobered up.
From the 2004 album Once. the song has the distinction of being the last song Tarja sang with Nightwish, it was the show closer at the Helsinki 2005 concert (End of an Era).
Marko sounded great singing with both Floor and Tarja. Glad you watched Marko introduce Floor. "as a contrast we'll do something out of the vaults", She is My Sin is the oldest song on the setlist here.

Ohh 'She is my Sin' next!! It's one of the most underrated Nightwish songs - great song! And the only Nightwish song Floor had done before she joined Nightwish. In After Forever she made a serious cover of this song - like only Floor can do!!

This was the 3rd Nightwish song that I ever heard. It was the official video with Marco and Tarja. It is worth getting into the wayback machine and listening to the earlier version as well. Either the video or the Live End of an Era version. I'm not saying that the earlier ones are better; but they are certainly worth a listen.
I may be wrong about this, but it seems to me that you saw the slowed down version. In all Nightwish songs at Wacken 2013 you should look for the versions labeled "correct speed". It's about 4% slower because in the slow versions there was a sampling problem when going to Blueray (24fps vs 25fps), I don't remember exactly the problem. But after hearing the different versions so many times you begin to notice the difference in the cadence. Greetings from Argentina!

The chemistry between Floor and the band didn't take long to develop. As Tuomas has said, she fit in quickly. By the Wacken show, she had been with the band for 10 months done 40+ shows. So there had been time for that chemistry to mature a bit and manifest itself on stage. Still, when you compare this show to more recent shows, it is immediately evident that Floor is even more comfortable in her role and the other band members even more comfortable with her out front. At Wacken, she had only recently accepted a permanent position and it hadn't been made public yet. During the show, the band members seem to be showing satisfaction that the decision they made was the right one.
Haha I am still convinced you will "cry in the corner" if you don't start reacting to bands like Lovebites, Babymetal or Band Maid. I am happy you have started your reaction to Simone, but trust me, there are soooo many fantastic bands you still have missed. The J-Metal I have mentioned, Ayreon, Rammstein, Blind Guardian. You have started with Sabaton so thers is still hope 😂😂😂
