- After having wireless carplay in my other car, I wanted to get one that's wired carplay to see the different. I personally would get the wired and wireless unit for all my cars from now on if I had to buy it again. The unit isn't perfect but for what I want it does the job. Overall I can't complain much. This Lexus CT200h definitely needed this unit because the old screen was giving out.

Do you have a link for the head unit? Also, will the unit work on a '15 CT200h that does not currently have a screen or nav?
Thanks so much for this video. It bugs the heck out of me not having Car Play in my 2012 CT w/ Nav (seems like we have the same year and model) since I got it. I have been searching aftermarket solution high and low for so long. I basically just gave up the idea.
I have seen the same type of screen and even contacted one of its vendor before. But ended up not going for it, since reviews back then saying it was pretty buggy. Hopefully yours has latest firmware that resolved it.
The other issue, I was hopping someone will come out another version of its trim. It's a touch screen. But the dash trim sits it back so far back, it's out of arms length. It kindda make it hard to use and defeat the purpose. If you find another dash trim that moves the screen forward, please do share.

Thank you for watching! Yea the screen isn't perfect but anything is better than the tiny screen. For the trim, there is none because there isn't room to move it up. With the wiring and etc it's not likely possible

Hey dude, I got the exact same one. I've had a few problems the voice call audio won't run through the lexus oem mic nor if i plug in an external mic to the unit, it seems to use the mic on the unit itself at the front of the screen, If the phone says Carplay out when I make a phone call the external party hears me all garbled, however if I use the lexus oem mic by selecting "Car multimedia" instead of carplay, it's ok, and usuable however when Im in carplay the music will stutter particuarly when in built up areas near wifi/bluetooth interference, its the oddest thing, I feel the oem bluetooth should be deactiviated but the voice calls are fine that way, it seems to be one thing or the other
Any ideas, the seller in china doesn't know.

Legend! Thank you! Couple questions, my back up camera is only using about half of the screen and has a Lexus logo on the side. How did you get it to display the full screen? Also has anyone added the Lexus logo for when the car starts up?
You have to go into something called BackUp Car or something like that in the unit. Basically settings for back up camera. I don’t remember which one it was but basically you can turn it off to do full screen

That’s really base on what you really want. I want a bigger screen but only way is replace screen so I have to buy aftermarket. If I only want CarPlay then I can get a module to use on OEM screen. So technically it is worth it because I can’t avoid the price unless bought used if that make sense 😅 sorry

When I installed my unit .you said to you the 2 oem plugs and not the big one.the blue one fit but the smaller one didn't.the only thing that if was the usb.but the usb is not working for me.can you tell me if i installed the usb right

I tried to buy sn android monitor but sellers mentioned that will not work if have original LCD monitor.
I have another 2015 too and I understand what you mean by different monitor. I'm not to sure about compatibility but you can get a carplay box
Can the flap over the 12v/aux never close now? Or is the aux cable small enough to close the flap when connected?
Nope it can’t close unfortunately
Is it possible to remove the old CD after installing this new screen? I see no need for it and would rather put a much needed storage compartment in its place. Also after using it for awhile, how come the left part is not installed flushed into the dash?...there is a gap on the left lower lip .....
You can’t remove the old cd. The screen is just an extension of the radio unit but with CarPlay. The trim not sitting flush it’s only for my part. The trim could be a bit off so it would pop up sometimes. I could modify it to make it fit but I’m too lazy to

So if you’re connected to Lexus Bluetooth while playing music it wont play audible directions while using Apple Maps?
Yes it won’t play directions if on OEM Bluetooth

so the Aux plug needs to plugged into the aux port?
Yes. With this or most unit, the audio source is from the aux plug from the wire harness they give you. They can not tap into the OEM source so this is the workaround. If you really don't care for it you can do the Bluetooth method in the video where you get audio for music but you can't hear any nonfiction or sounds from maps or etc.

Yes you can. There's a non nav version. Only thing is you would have to cut a hole where the screen would be
Hi thanks for the video it helped a lot I did this install with the same system. Everything works good just rear view camera. I have set it to oem camera but when I put in reverse I get the image switch to oem unit bit the rear view camera isn’t engaging any ideas
Where’d you find the parts?
Have same issue, when settings are set to oem camera the screen shows oem map instead. Didn't find the root cause so far.

Did u get a rear camera connector with yours as I had a little white connector with the composite input for that camera but that connector doesn’t fit anywhere not sure if it needs to be installed maybe but I think it’s for thirds party camera. I Can’t really get any contact to the manufacturer who would most likely be able to help us

@mediaeasieruk I don’t think it’s possible. Head unit is the main thing that controls climate, radio and etc for your car. Main problem is harness and plug and system need to match your car

It looks like boot up time from ignition press to a screen you can use is 26 seconds. Meh.

You can still get the unit. As long as you mention what model you have to seller you are getting it from you should be good.

You just have to tell the seller what model car you have. The screen is all the same but the wire harness is where it matter

Only for mine. I’m sure it could make it flush but it’s plastic so it’s not going to always be perfect

I mean yea the mouse work. I can only speak my unit and that it’s super laggy when trying to use the mouse

@@McMoffel I can only comment on my particular unit. I'm sure not all units are laggy like mine. I don't really complain much using the screen but then I can reach it sorry lol
Hello, do you have battery drain of the 12v battery when the car is off ? My screen will drain the 12v battery in a couple of days. I don’t Know if it’s a setting or hardware issue…
Mine has not had that issue. You should definitely message the seller you got it from and also check all the wires behind to see if any is cut
