    Please tell me why not to use mystic grease in everything. Never tore up nothing with the mystic after 40 hours without mystic grease tears up gears which ups parts sale. Wanna dispute text back please.traxxas don’t know why you cant

      I can’t see why that grease wouldn’t work. Heck man I’ve used so many types of grease as far as I’m concerned if it’s slick and a little sticky it will work fine.

    i used moly grease never use rc stuff just moly G and thin with oil if needed . but i am sure that good grease he uses is ok i just ant buying special rc grease but as being in the mechanics/modding i know its not necessary so that why i said that mess above ...one could get moly powder and add it in any grease just do not add to much 2.3 percent or so i have to look it up but to much is not good makes it wear faster that oil/grease alone so it good to follow the recipe just a friendly cash saving tip use that wear agent

    I believe the input and output shaft of this planetary gear have the same speed since the outer ring is fastened to the housing. Then what is the point to have such a gear in between? I saw the exploded diagram on the rear diff housing where there sits another which is exactly the same thing. Can you help explain? Thanks

    what allen screws and size did you use for holding the motor on the mount? the stock one keep coming off. thx

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 роки тому +1

      I ended up using a normal head bolt to hold the motor in place, takes a 2.5mm hex to tighten down, when doing that you'll have to trim the pinion cover so it will go back on.

    Oh dear....i put a big shot of marine grease in my motor gear. How bad did i mess up? I have ran it 2 hours so far with that big gear full of grease

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  6 років тому +1

      Chances are the grease is already slung off the gear and is making a mess all around the pinion gear.

    If you have one can you link it to me, but how do you actually remove the whole transmission with motor. I have removed all the hardware from underneath and can't get it to budge, Please help as visually as possible.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 років тому +1

      if you have the belly skid off there are 4 bolts that hold the trans in place in addition to the motor mount bolts. Remove all those, if your trans is loose but wont come out you need to remove the front driveshaft set screw because the the stock front driveshaft is locked up. once you get that out the trans will come out easily. Also take the servo loose for added clearance. Sometimes I get so involved with the project I'm into I forget to do the basics, sorry.

    Have you had any issues with the planetary getting hot? I broke mine down when I first purchased it in December 18 and put some udder butter Grease and I never had an issue with heat. Then I tore it down after a few runs and replaced the udder butter with the 20 million weight that they recommend in the manual and I must say it got extremely hot with the 20 million weight that they recommend, I was very disappointed. I think it's back to the grease for me.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 років тому +1

      yeah the planetary gets got, the 20moil is for inside the diffs not on planetary gears or the ring and pinions, I recently got an aluminum rear axle housing off ebay from Vivaton and not only is the design better, the aluminum transfers the heat away and acts like a heat sink, very nice unit, I'll get you a link to it. But as far as grease goes stay with the uddr butter on all open gears.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 років тому +1

      if you decide to get an aluminum housing go with this one as its design is far superior to the stock one, I should be installing the same brand transmission case in a few weeks as well as other stuff rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FVITAVON-Alu-CNC-Rear-Axle-housing-For-UDR-Traxxas-Unlimited-Desert-Racer-1-7%2F282798188757%3Fhash%3Ditem41d815e8d5%3Ag%3A4lUAAOSw~atcSS~I%3Ark%3A1%3Apf%3A1%26frcectupt%3Dtrue&campid=5338273090&toolid=20008

      @@ExocagedRC actually 1 million weight is for differential not the planetary.... I've actually talked with Kent from Traxxas about this already if you put 20 million weight in that differential you'll blow it up read the manual 1 million for the diff and 20 million for the planetary...center.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 років тому +1

      if you say so but diff oil is not a grease substitute on open gears.

    • @rcbullshit7859
      @rcbullshit7859 5 років тому +1

      I actually just called Traxxas and they said that they do not recommend putting 20 million weight in the Center diff it doesn't transfer power properly it comes with 1 million weight stock. And you were right about the planetary gears taking Grease I was thinking of something else.

    I run mystic wheel bearing grease in my trans and front and rear end.traxxas haven’t even study using it they said .they just won’t you to burn up parts. I did seal everything with orange silicone.20 hours and less problems. They can’t tell me why not to. Just wanna sell you their lube.any one who can dismiss this or prove me wrong talk back to me. The one without all the mystic grease has burned up 2 ring gear and pinions and reduction gears on front, rear, and transmission. Tell me why not anyone please goons

      Not sure if I’d call it sponsored but I like the grease and oils enough that in return for showing his stuff on my channel he gets me what I need for the projects. But in all honesty if this grease was no good I would not use it on anything. Another thing he is local to me and runs trucks and stuff just like we do, so not only does he have a great product, he is one of us.
