Very nice ! I have this exact model & sent it to Zippo for them to tighten the hinge (hopefully they can, mine was extra loose in my opinion). The slashes really make it pop. I wouldn't want the '35 Replica or Vintage Look without slashes, after owning them with Slashes. A must for me now on those two Zippo models.
I've had one of these for about 12 years. Additionally it is my only Zippo. It is in pretty good shape, worth only a handful of deep scratches, and one little area where it is worn to brass, I think from rubbing up against keys. While a little loose, my hinge is still going strong.
"I'd like to hear from people who only have one Zippo" - I've had a brushed chrome Zippo for about 20 years now (E 02), that I bought new.. never really got the bug to collect them, but stopped using this one for about 10 years until recently. Was browsing Reddit and saw a random post about them, so dug it out again and went down the rabbit hole. Just ordered a soft flame insert for my original, as well as a brushed brass 1941 replica and some British military badges from the same era to make, antique, and polish a custom out of that one, to use with the traditional fuel. I'm bored senseless right now and still pretty isolated after covid, so will be making this my new hobby, collecting, restoring, and making custom Zippos in my spare time. I used to work for a buckle company many years ago, so know most of the processes for antiquing, buffing, and all that jazz. I don't smoke any more though.. these will be for collection and candle lighting. Cool video, subbed.
I have a zippo my mother bought guy for me when I was 14 back in 2005-2006 fast forward to now being 31 and she’s been long gone I still have and use that very same zippo with same insert never replaced it or use any other zippo there good lighters
I have a regular one that I use and I have this 1935 put away for the value down the road and safe keeping they have certain types that are going up in value and I try to keep them in good condition and never use them for that reason and I have special edition ones as well
Oh nice, the only one I’ve seen was the 2020 collectable. 1935 Replicas have been around much longer than I’ve been collecting Zippo’s, so I’m not sure about past designs their might have been, but I’m sure that there is only a very small number of them
Nice I like the replicas I have a 35 with slashes I haven't seen one with out a brushed brass would be cool I think my favourite replica is the 42 brushed brass
Hard to find in the states have a big intage look with 5 hinge pins and slashes one crome and another in brass , I like the three pin hinge better looking to me I will hunt a couple down !!! I had a gold Marlboro lighter Gold even the insert was gold Rat Ride Sleep I had it in a tool box for ten years Filled it up lit first flick still works fine the brass one got crunched when I moved must send it in for repair I have had many will get more !! !
I like the crude early look and I love the slash marks and outside hinge
