Shoutout to you. I just put the intake on my 2013 Maxima and purrs now. I'm not a mechanical or anything. Very easy installation. Appreciate the guide.
my question is did you hook up the Air Intake Resonator elsewhere? Did the increase simply offset the performance loss or was there enough gain to leave it off?
@@12MRJERSEY Thanks alot bro, What do you think about straight pipes? Does it make any difference? Because some people saying that if you did it the torque will decrease.
@@mamoungharib4512 Well I have the motor dyne exhaust and y pipe. If anything, the car is much more responsive after the install. And by the way I have 14 Maxima.
I really want one of these but I just can't make up my mind. It's been in my cart for weeks. It's the money, should I get this or a Spectre, is it worth it, can't decide... struggles in life. Lol
I have both muffler delete and resonator delete. and plan on getting a air intake for my 2012 nissan coupe. but I bet your car sound nice if neighbors complain 🖒
2013 and 2014 i bet is the same Dont spend too much money in it just remove the old air filter box Buy a pipe with air sensor hole and buy the new performance filter use the same extension the cone with car to join the pipe and filter and done easy If u buy wrong pipes u gonna wlbows etx too much dont have to have fun wnjoy
When you uninstall the factory intake the part that's connected to the intake manifold the rubber piece has two hoses attached to it what is the one at the bottom attached to. The reason why am asking I have a Stillen intake and only has a port for one hose not 2
Dwain Burchell were you ever able to figure out what that bottom hose is attached to? I’m wondering the same thing... mine came off and I don’t where or what it was connected to back there
Good video. The filter looks really small. Did you make that sheet metal barrier or was that what you got in the kit? Why did you go with this one instead of say the more popular R2C or something like the Stillen? Was it cheaper than the other systems you tend to see on Maxima's?
+Sebastian Reynolds Thanks! No the metal heat shield came with the kit. I didn't need to do any fabricating or cutting, everything was bolt on and very easy to install. As for why I went with the K&N intake over others, check out this video, I explain it in detail: ua-cam.com/video/oWob4qd4rxo/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!!
I just put this on my 2016 maxima and it seems i cannot put the transmission into reverse with the heat shield that came with the intake, So i took the heat shield off for now to wait for the revised shield to be shipped but my check engine light is also on, I've Disconnected the negative current from the battery for 2 hours and the Mass airflow sensor is on the pipe correctly. I'm not sure what else to do to get the check engine light off.
Yeah I've heard of the issue of the heat shield getting in the way. Did the check engine light go away after disconnecting the battery and then come back on?
Just unhook both of them for a few minutes. If the check engine light comes back on I would recommend going to like an autozone or advance auto parts so they can check the code for you so you know for sure that it's the mass air flow sensor.
hey man .i have the same car and i wanna buy the same intake.do you recommend it after all these months. i want it mainly for the sound .give me your output please
+Richard E. Yes I would strongly recommend it. It sounds very good and is very easy to install. I haven't had any issues with it at all. Best $300 that I have spent on the car so far.
I attempted installation of the K&N cold air intake on my new 2016 Nissan Maxima. The care was stuck in park because the bottom portion of the heat shield was blocking the car from advancing beyond "Park". I attempted to adjust the height of the heat shield but same result. Removing the shield will allow shifting from park to drive and beyond. The end result is the car function well without the shield but with it not so great. The question is, would it be advisable to function the vehicle without the shield?
+Harold Harold The 2016 is a new gen maxima and I'm not sure what the installation is like on that model, although I'm sure it's not that much different. That being said, your vehicle will function fine with the heat shield removed. The purpose of the heat shield is to keep the air coming into the intake cooler. The colder the air that goes into the intake, the more power your car produces. So removing the heat shield will not harm your car at all, it will just slightly decrease the full potential of whatever power gains you would get from installing the cold air intake. Hope this helps!
+AsphaltRequired Your advise assist in my decision to send it back. If the shield play a roll in increased power then it seem needed. Therefore I will go back to the factory intake until K&N make adjustments. Thanks
+Achilles Thanks! Nope, no issues at all with the K&N kit. Everything went on very easy. The whole install took less than an hour. Thanks for watching!
I put a k&n intake on my 2016 maxima. After I stalled it I could not put the car into reverse or drive. It would go in park and reverse just fine. I put the stock air intake back on and it was fine. Does anyone have any ideas what would make that happen? Maybe a sensor or something?
+Thaying Xiong I haven't done a lot of research into the Injen brand because they don't make an intake for my gen maxima. But Injen is a very good brand, one of the better brands out there. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. Personally I like K&N because they are very reputable and love mine that I installed on my car.
It's not for looks it's more for the sound. K&N claims that it adds around 13 hp but I haven't verified that. But it makes the car sound a lot better during acceleration.
I've been searching for 2015 Nissan rogue short ram intake videos, but it defers me to altima and maxima. Are the 2.5l engine same at the 2.5l on the Altima? thanks
Yes there is a K&N intake for the 2017 maxima. Just make sure you get the correct one. The one I have on my car may not fit the 2017 but they do make them for the 2017 maxima.
I'm sure it might sound slightly better but don't see the value in spending $300 on a CAI that is just sucking HOT air directly into the MAF sensor. that cant produce any HP gains in the summer time period in that location. Just buy a AEM or K&N drop in filter for $35.00 like i did since the system from the factory is enclosed & is providing colder air. waste of money your Better off removing the mid resonator on the 2016/17 maxima. That will give you the sound u want for $100+ and a better chance of freeing up some HP
I install this on my 2016 maxima. Had the heat shield problem. Took the heat shield off and the car can move else it was stuck in park. My Check engine light come up. Throwing P0102 and P0113. The car move fine with the intake. But I could not get rid of the engine light. So I put the stock intake back. Still throwing code. Could the oiled damage my MAF?
Tony Trinh probably not. Go to auto zone and get the code read and see their suggestions of what it might be. I doubt the oil on the filter is enough to do any damage or even get on the maf sensor
I have heard from some people that they had some issues with the sensor. I don't know why and I don't know about the newer maximas but on mine (2014) I had no issues. The ECU is smart and is supposed to self adjust for the additional air flow.
I honestly feel like short ram intakes like that reduce performance in a vehicle and is more for looks and sound. You're sucking in warm air from the engine bay. The stock air runner sucks air in from outside and keeps it cool until it hits the throttle body. Plus the O2 sensor will kick in and regulate the air:fuel to keep it at nominal values. W/out a tune, it's pretty useless.
I do not think a major company can or would claim 13 hp with out somebody calling bullshit and getting a lawyer! 13 is not much at the wheels it is like 10 hp you will not feel it or much of it
Amzon 50 $ And maybe remove the air vent for more room If u keep the old factory pipe extension is less work ,money ,faster to install Than removing gd things Trust i found out the hard way and end up spendin too much money buyin shits that u donr need all performance filter work the same

Simply Wess any check engine lights? I'm thinking of installing a cai

The money you save in replacing the filter is worth the switch.
