I already purchased a plate frm Miller bc it's a newr gen4. If I had a gen1 or gen2. I'd use old clothes washer/dryer backs! Some already have vents. Jst a suggestion. We got to stick together & make their jobs HARDER!! I dont know any wealthy friends let alone wealthy prius owners.😉

Your homemade cat shield looks good. The cat was taken on my wife's prius. Since then I had a cat shield installed from the muffler shop. I hope the shield will help the cat from getting stolen again.

For California's Smog Check. You have to create large enough vents in order for the smog inspector to verify the Cat Model # otherwise it will automatically fail Smog. My friend just has hers stolen.

I had a front and rear dash camera hardwired to the 12v that allowed it to run even when the car was off. I found with a 256 gb SD card it allowed you to film almost 24hours at 720p
I would delete the screen but it's important to put some slits below the converter for the smog man to read the OEM part # with a mirror to make sure you are not hiding a universal cat.

That looks almost foolproof. The vents don’t look like they’ll do much but the rest looks good.
I hope it works. I had my cat converter and oxygen sensors stolen as well. Put your VIN # on the cat converter and spray high heat fluorescent paint on it. It also has to be VENTED really well. Great job, I pray it works. Wish I would catch one of those dirty M. Fuxxxxs

I bought one online for $105 including shipping and I put it on yesterday.. but I didn't realize about covering the other area to the front.. I'll have to check that that I went to look at aluminum plate today at the scrap yard and it was about 60 bucks to make my own so it's not really worth it I think.. The crazy thing is that I went to my buddy's body shop to put it on yesterday and he told me that the night before the rateros came in and stole four catalytic converters from cars in the front lot

what screws did u use and rivets to for attaching plate to body? and than is it not an easy job just unscrewing and drilling out rivets removing plate for thieves...?

Did you buy aluminum sheet or stainless steel?
Bought the aluminium because it was lighter. I looked at stainless and that was very heavy.

Bought twhe cat for my Prius at Autozone for $40....seems like 40 would be a lot to pay for a shield for it.
Good luck getting that pass here in california, I can get 20 yet free from my other cars as well... the point is to protect ur cat. Search how much this cat cost here in cali oem.
Cost at dealer for OEM cat for Cali is $1750.
I bet those are going to rattle like a son of a b****!
