I have no problem with harsh grades but sometimes I cannot figure out what they’re doing. Some 6’s look like 9’s and vice versa. There’s no consistency and no grading notes
...especially when the card may not be worth the cost/trouble to grade and slab it if comes back low. I'd like notes fir 20 per card. Personally, I just enjoy collecting raw vintage cards with eye appeal.
You got some really strong grades in there. Better than I normally see in these types of videos. I do get a laugh though when people estimate a grade by looking at it with the naked eye. That might be 1/4 the reason for a cards grade. The other 3/4 is made up of factors PSA needs magnification to evaluate.
They did say at one point they were going away from like 9 (OC)'s and just giving out straight 7's. But maybe it depends on the individual grader you get and the scale they want to use? You used to could ask for no qualifiers, at least on the optional ones - but not sure if you can do that anymore. Nice cards.
qualifiers are at the sole discretion of the grader and unfortunately you can no longer ask to exclude qualifiers. a card should only receive an OC qualifer if the centering is two grades lower than the apparent grade. for instance a 9OC must have 7 centering or worse. I personally dont mind qualifiers if they add value to a card. for instance a 9OC may have more value than a straight 4 or 5. but these cases are a little unusual. I'm sorry you weren't happy with those grades, but you also got some bangers in there!
Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was something like that. I’d rather have a 7 than 9oc but I can’t really complain as overall I’m happy with the grades. Thanks for watching!
WOW. Makes absolutely no sense, they should just give it a grade and take OC into account on the grade rather than give it a false inflated grade. Why not give a card a "SC" for "soft corner"?
I do not know for a fact why PSA does this. Thinking about it, though, my best guess is that, for example, if a card has corners, edges and centering of a 9, but centering of a 3, so that they would give the entire card let’s say a 4 or 5, many submitters would prefer the 9(oc) so as to highlight the fact that but for the centering the card is mint.
Just discovered you… great stuff! I have 300 ‘57’s at auction right now (Greg Morris is a mentor to me; but I don’t do his volume :)… take a look; I’m always listing high grade raw vintage… seller:cardfinesse… LOVE your channel…
Great video- those are sone rarely seen vintage awesome 8’s! In your opinion- what non OC card grades would you consider being comparable to an OC 9. For example would you rather have a OC 9 or a non OC 6 and so on. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the sub and watching. I would much rather have a 7 versus 9oc. I think they only do it with 8’s and 9’s because you never see it with lower grades.
Some STRONG looking 66s in this order amongst others. Yeah the OC designation is at the discretion of the grader. Straight 6 would look more appealing. Nice reveal otherwise. Do you just sell or trade?
Mostly sell on eBay. User name Motin. I am however doing my first show February in Portland so I’ll be doing some trading I’m sure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice eye-appeal on all of these cards..... Man, you have good eye for cards. I mean it blows my mind when a vintage card gets an 8 when it has 80/20 centering on the front just because it's "sharp" , smh.... I will take a card that's presentable and centered all day over a card that is O/C or even miscut that gets an extra grade for "having sharp corners".... I'm sure you understand because this stuff is fantastic...... now layoff the coke, lol
PSA with the OC markers... Sometimes I don't understand what is wrong with them as a company. For all the positives, they do some really dumb stuff. Are they that out of touch that they still don't realize NOBODY wants qualifiers on their cards.
GREAT VIDEO, IF YOU'D BE WILLING, I'D BUY YOUR O/C 8'S & 9'S FROM YOU, I'D ALSO LIKE TO BUY YOUR LOWER GRADE CARDS IF YOUR WILLING????? JUST LET ME KNOW..... THANK YOU, TROY👍👍
Gift on the OC 69 Rose. I thought they only did OC qualifiers if you request it.

Totally agree. Well said.

Looks like PSA/SGC/CSG/BVG are competing for who can get the toughest grading award.

Some great cards.
Tons of stunners in there, yeah, the OC’s are a head scratcher… they haven’t hit me with a qualifier in quite some time!
Few of those OC’s heading off to SGC
Those 63s are pretty dang sharp

Even the lower grade cards looked nice. All good eye appeal. I think all of these worth slabbing for sure.
Thanks man appreciate it

Great- fair enough, so for example you would trade your PSA OC9 Richardson for a PSA 7 in a heartbeat. But not so much for a PSA 6? Thanks!

Thought psa changed the rule on OC, maybe grader is a new grader still using old standards.
