      PBD is bluntly spot-on about so many nontrivial things that it's hard to list examples. He is underestimated because he does not speak like a university-educated elite or someone who keeps up with psychological jargon. For me, it enhances his down-to-earth pragmatism and intellectual honesty, but he doesn't always come up with _brilliant_ examples, analogies, or apropos and memorable turns of phrases. He definitely does his homework, however, more so than some of his snobbier interviewees.

    • @lucasp1185
      @lucasp1185 11 місяців тому +6

      PBD seems to have a rather narrow view of the world. It's a sentiment shared by many that not everyone should become parents just because they have the ability to. Happiness is subjective; what brings joy to one person might be distressing to another. The world is multifaceted, and it's unfortunate when individuals try to impose their singular perspective on others. Everyone should have the freedom to live their lives without undue influence from others.

      @@lucasp1185 That is his perspective that you and others like you just don't seem to get. He's not pushing anything on anyone they don't want to do, he's talking about regular people that DO believe in things like becoming parents, getting married, maybe even the wife staying home with the kids while Dad goes off to work however hard to make sure everyone is taken care of, etc. - they're the ones distressed, tormented as if they have no right to their happiness. We have to DEFEND our happiness, as if it is an affront to others' happiness. Simply saying 'I don't care. Leave me alone. Live your life, I'll live mine.' is no longer enough. We are supposed to cater to and support other people's choices, but not the other way around. Everyone should indeed have the freedom to live their lives without undue influence from others - it's simply not that way anymore now is it? Talking about what you believe would provide people happiness is a far cry from insisting others follow your mandates - which is where we are on the other side of the spectrum.

    Snow White is not about a stalker, and it is was never about EXTERNAL beauty. Actually, the Queen can be argued to be the more beautiful. She actually looks like a temptess, or a vixen. Even in the live action remake, Snow White was played a decent looking actress, but the evil Queen was played by long-time heart throb Charlize Theron. The key to Snow White's beauty was her internal soul. The Queen sends a hit man to take her heart, he sees Snow White and can't do it because he sees her heart is pure; beautiful.
    When Snow White falls victim to the Queen's poison, the seven dwarves rally to avenge her, even if it means their death. If anything, the original Snow White takes light hearted jabs at men. The dwarves represent men. Hard working, dutiful, but ill-mannered... Perhaps uncivilized? Snow White asks the dwarves at one point to wash their filthy hands before eating her stu. The dwarves look at each other in shock. "Wash? What for? We ain't goin' nowhere."
    External beauty means nothing if you're ugly on the inside. A valuable lesson for all the youth. The Queen was ugly on the inside. How fitting for the Queen's disguise to be so ugly (externally) when she stooped to the level of giving Snow White a poisonous apple.
    Disney is now devoid of talent. The company will fail. It has been usurped by the woke and the wicked.

    • @emy_2510
      @emy_2510 11 місяців тому

      I think its is largely about puberty and using beauty as a tool. Or being aware of your own beauty. By 'accelerating' Snow white's attention to her own looks, or puberty (the apple), the evil queen wants to almost steal her beauty because the most beautiful one is the one not aware of their own beauty.
      And i heard this somewhere. From Jordan maybe. The seven dwarves represent the idiosyncrasies of masculinity. The eternal predicament of women, to be surrounded by dwarved men.

      It seems reckless. I get the fact that someone had to be blamed in order to gain support for the movement, but how sloppy it was to develop a narrative shaming men. We've literally co-evolved, male and female, for centuries to just throw men under the bus first chance they get. To me, this speaks volumes about female nature.
      In a similar way that we notice the extremes of male behavior, and try to contain it, we should do with female nature. I've heard it said, "You either love women or you understand them, but you can't do both."

    My mother was a family law attorney, which equates to divorce lawyer. The domestic violence stories she dealt with would weaken your argument. What girls are taught in Disney movies is to look for "Prince Charming". Many abusive men begin relationships with their victims (male or female, or vice versa abusive women are included, but statistics show that men predominantly are documented as being domestic violence partners --perhaps men don't report the abuse out of shame). The story is that a fairy tale is yours if you just wish upon a star. It is that philosophy that leads some partners of domestic violence (male or female) into abusive relationships, that fantasy zone. Feminist women with a dog or cat I have known are pretty happy and not lonely. A lot of males are "bachelors" and that is considered "good" in the eyes of society. Please don't neglect to mention the males who are alone with a cat or dog, as surely there are many.

    • @squidikka
      @squidikka 11 місяців тому

      So your anecdotal examples of bad relationships that your mom dealt with because she is literally a divorce attorney... meaning obviously just about every single case she dealt with involved people wanting a divorce (hello...?), somehow weakens his argument? This is the equivalent of going to Antarctica and being shocked that it's covered in snow, then coming back to report that we must be in an ice age. You are a person who goes to a prison and is in awe that it's full of convicts. It's fine if some women are comfortable being a lonely cat lady, but that's not really the point he was making. This is obviously aimed at the rise in women who fall into this trope but actually *regret it* in the end thanks to the false promises of such movements.

    • @hamulerrickdon
      @hamulerrickdon 11 місяців тому

      That's a good point. Men are encouraged to sow their loin and are literally breaking hearts in the process, and then want to turn around and complain about what they see when they are finally ready to settle down?
      If that's not the pot calling the kettle black, then I don't know what is.
      They want feminists to agree that men and women are different -- that men are visual. But at the same time, they don't want to accept some of the consequences of not getting that visual characteristic under control. You're literally creating the women that you don't want to marry and then having the nerve to complain about the market...
      How about don't be a male s1ut? This would help society just as much as women getting themselves together.

    • @ejadadi
      @ejadadi 11 місяців тому +2

      @@squidikkaBut he also made an argument with "anecdotal" evidence. Has the guy on the show spoken to every feminist from the 80's to know that they're all alone or lonely with only a dog or cat for company? Of course he hasn't. So if you think his argument is valid based on his "anecdotal" evidence, surely someone else's must be considered. And I don't agree with him saying women "chose" the wrong enemy, if anything, men did. This whole situation wouldn't be had men just allowed women to express themselves as they choose - Whether it's having the right to vote or chasing a career. "The chickens have come home to roost" and men are freaking out everywhere because women no longer want to be damsels in distress.

      In the last 150 years some women have lived alone with cats, but almost never before that. That's for the simple reason that we would have died from wild animals or rape without men dedicated to protecting us, our home, and our city. Only the invention of technologies like mass transportation and guns have eliminated even the basic threats, like the wildcats and bears, enough so that women can live alone.

      @@jhssuthrnmama oh, not really.
      That is obfuscating the issue.
      The reason women are alone,
      much younger,
      Is because of hookup culture, toxic feminism, no fault divorce being milked to strip men of their wealth, and the effect of social media presenting the illusion of infinite choice and assurance of one’s own desirability, well beyond what reality supports, along with the illusion of the ease of conceiving babies beyond 35.
      Every woman thinks she is the exception who will have no problem at all in conceiving beyond 35, and sometimes beyond 45.

    One thing people seem to miss is that these CEOs are not creators. They are Ivy League trained managers and stock manipulators. They never suffered through entrepreneurship and have no loyalty to these companies, only to their stocks prices. In the case of Iger, if you made him CEO of Coca Cola, it wouldn’t make any difference - he has as much loyalty to Disney as Coca Cola. So these CEOs who have created nothing, do not share the same values as the original founders (Walt believed in American values and American exceptionalism and wanted Disney to spread those ideals to the world), and so in their hubris, they want to leave their own legacy, instead of carrying the torch of the original founders.

    It makes me sad when they talk about that single woman living with the dog and cat because they think they are just insulting feminists but they don't have a clue Patrick. is lucky he has a family. I did everything right. I'm not a feminist. I believe in love, I don't think all men are bad. I believe in God, I'm pro-life, and here I am single, and yes, sometimes I feel lonely from no fault of my own. I happen to have a dog and a cat because living alone can be scary, but I'm grateful for them and my friends. I get their point, but not everyone who is alone with a pet intended to be this way. He should count his blessings and know his audience.

    The only problem I have with this is that women, so long as they live long enough will encounter a reason to be fearful and distrusting of men. It doesn't matter what the movies suggest. The reality women don't have the luxury of trusting men considering the way a group of men treat women. The number of times I've been followed, or put In a situation where I'm afraid because I know that a man could hurt me and there's nothing I can do is sad and alarming. You can blame women for there fears all you want but that is a woman's reality. Women are out here afraid, and that fear turns to hatred. Men need to do better, blaming feminism isn't the problem. Women are chosing to be alone because they now have the means to have a choice as to wether they want to depend on men they don't trust, on principal or not.

    I think there needs to be balance, neither far sides are correct, I was raised with the whole prince charming culture as many women my generation, at least 6 out of 8 close friends were molested, raped or taken advantage of. I personally know only 1 or 2 happy couples in their 70-80s with a happy marriage and it’s not my parents or parents of close friends and families from all walks of life and cultures, I have seen very happy single laddies in their 70-80s as well and miserable married women. I think kids should be tough to to be independent and learn to fend for themselves regardless their sex, to not engage in this battle of the sexes and to respect each other and to be cautious of any dangerous again regardless of their sex. If a person wants to get married or not is their personal choice, some people might be happy married with kids, others might not, their happiness might be being single in their apartment with their dog.
