I'm a former Republican, 71, white male in Texas. I didn't vote for Defendant Trump in 2016. I voted for President Biden in 2020 and was impressed with what he's been able to accomplish. In 2024, I'll be voting for President Biden again and vote Democrat all the way down the ticket so he can accomplish even more. Maybe if we can vote out enough of MAGA he can have the majority in the house. Then we can get that Border Bill/Aid package passed.

Agreed. As long as Trump's Republican party still gets close to 50% , they can still road-block whatever the elected POTUS tries to do. Trump needed to expand his base from 2020. I think it shrank instead, and he's not doing anything to reverse that. Cut Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid? That won't win him any friends (or votes).

When I even think about that would even do to our country..... I can't even wrap my brain about the implications of that. When so many people depend on these programs. They're there for a reason. Were gonna have alot of starving people that are gonna need a whole lot of medical attention, with no money, no medicaid, Medicare or social service programs. This is insane. Absolutely insane. That's how I see it, and what's even more crazy is alot of maga are on these programs. And when Johnson says it takes away from the able bodied citizens that can work, are we gonna make people work until they're 90? Are we making innocent kids work? They will have to vote out the coalition of trumpers that are in the house and senate as well. trump is only still around, because congress members have kept him around. Just think, if they had voted to convict him in that first impeachment trial, he would only be facing the fraud charges, and hush money charges in NY.

I was raised in a rural home in Idaho. Family and friends were nearly overwhelmingly all Republicans. My leanings started to turn independent when in '96 I saw Bob Dole say that milk might be as bad for you as cigarettes. I started voting for whoever I thought was best for the job at the time, regardless of party. Since then my younger siblings, (of which I have seven), have almost all turned independent too. We all came to the conclusion on our own, and apparently, self-identifying independents are as much as those who identify exclusively as a member of both the parties combined.
Give us Americans credit. On the large, we know that there are problems and we know that no party has the universally best policies to offer. We also know that an orange man who is hawking cheesy NFTs is just as much a conman as you would think.

NO REPUBLICAN will EVER get my vote. I was able to vote the first time in 1972, I voted for Nixon. I felt sick at my stomach when I did. The whole world knows how that turned out. Never voted for another Republican again.
Somehow, at 18, I didn't trust Nixon. My first vote was exciting. It always is. This is a convoluted mess! Biden's got a lot to do. I'll help.
@@ardentynekent2099 we didn't know what a crook and liar Nixon was, a year into his second term, we learned a lot of what we knew of McGovern was lies. My Mother voted fir Kennedy and Humphrey, and I asked her advise. She said to me I've never liked Nixon, but I am afraid of McGovern. A lit of Americans were. I voted for Nixon but, I never voted fir another Republican after that. He should have never been pardoned.
@@kathyrama4570- My parents despised 'tricky Dicky' as they called him. They missed JFK, and were saddened that Bobby K never had his chance to run against Nixon. Agree that Ford NEVER should have pardoned Nixon. That sent the message that R's were above the law in their own eyes. Ford's biggest blunder, and maybe a BIG part of why he lost in 1976. 💙💙✌☑
